There was almost an exact opposite thread to this one on RSD recently where people are basically all agreeing that cold approach is just not worth it since they can literally get laid every single night of the week without having to even 'game' thanks to tinder. They're talking about how it's now not remotely impressive to have a notch count in the hundreds since if you are semi good-looking, tinder makes that very easy indeed for someone.

It has to be said that most of the lays on the 'i just got laid thread' are from tinder.

I think if you are good looking, it certainly makes sense to use it!

I think that's the key point, but well above average and not just "good looking." Without any scientific data I'm getting the sense that Tinder is swinging back towards its original purpose which is to be a hookup app. Therefore the bar is going way up in terms of looks for men. I expect there's now going to be a massive divide between men where those at the very right tail of the bell curve in terms of looks will be slaying while those of us under the tall part of the curve will be left out whereas it used to be somewhat more equitable.

I'd guess that these people chiming in on RSD are all above to well above average in looks and are probably in very large urban areas with tons of options. It also sounds like they're exaggerating.

If you're good looking- it works. I'm not- waste of time.

However, I've talked to some of my good looking friends and even they have only banged 3-5 girls a year on tinder after accounting for flakes etc..

For me, in person game is my only option. Don't be lazy and go out and do day game rather than relying on an app to do that for you.

Apps do everything for us in these times, at least do something for yourself for once!

I've tried Tinder a couple of times and had zero productive matches with girls I would consider up to my standards and no dates, yet regularly meet girls in person who tell me I'm good looking. I suspect it's a matter of not being quite in that top tier of conventionally attractive guys, but having good enough game that girls perceive me to be better looking than I actually am. With Tinder there's just a few photos so only guys whose main attribute is looks will obviously do the best.

exactly , tinder is not about your look , is more about how can show off the maximum of your advantages in one pic. this is easy for some persons not for others . So if you feel your pic is good and you didnt get matches , leave tinder , you will probably get better results outisde.

I know many guys who dont get get matches on tinder but they get more succeess outside than those who get more matches on tinder .

That's good to know, because I won't lie - Recently, my complete lack of tinder matches compared to everyone I know (I get about 1 match per 500 swipes on average) on planet earth has gotten me very down to the point I keep wondering if there's any point in even approaching

It's also hard to know what's the issue without knowing you or seeing your profile. Maybe you just need to find a half decent photographer to take new pics, or you have a weird fake smile, or your posture isn't quite right. I know that I look terrible in most of my pics because my friends take shit photos and I'm usually in some goofy pose.

There are several reasons why you should not rely on Tinder as your main tool for getting girls:
1.) Userbase it at least 65% male and these are more actively swiping than the girls on the platform. If you consider that many of the girls using it just want to get some online attention, are ugly or low-quality sluts that number becomes even worse.
2.) The Tinder algorithm limits your access to the hot girls. Swiping right too often decreases your Score drastically and you will not be shown to the hot girls who have a high score.
3.) By using a dating app you signal that you have a low-value. High-value men don't need a dating app to get girls, they are chased by girls. Even if you are not a high-value man you should show the attitude that you are one.

Snapchat and especially Instagram are much better tools to display your high value and get access to more girls who are hot. No matter which platform you use it is crucial to get good photos. Go to a professional photographer for a photo session and get them done!

As a minority, you have an uphill battle if you don't have facial features that are attractive to the mainstream, are tall, or are muscular but not impossible, just not as many matches as Chad Thundercock.

First off, quit right swiping on everyone as that will lower your ELO rating and you won't be presented to as many girls. Start being selective and swipe on girls that's traveled a lot and visited other countries(more receptive to dating minorities), has profile group pics with other minorities, has more single pictures of herself or one other friend. The "trixie" girls that pose with a bunch of other girls generally are always trying to maintain a certain rep/image and would most likely not date a minority if it doesn't pass among her girl group, even if she thinks you are attractive or not.

Second, as Kirdiesel said, photos are very important. You'll want one with you doing some activity(sports, etc). One with a social group(group pic with you in it having a fun time, preferably with a few other races mixed in to give the message that you are open to dating a lot of different kinds of people). If you have a good body, a swimsuit pic at a pool or beach would be good too. One in another country with a good background that tells girls that you travel. These girls really examine and disect pictures like crazy, unlike us guys.

Lastly, it doesn't matter if you got pictures professionaly done. What matters is how others perceive you in that pic. You can go to one of many photo analyzing sites like http://www.photofeeler.com to have independent third party people judge your pics and provide you good feedback before posting them as your profile pictures on dating apps.

The goldmine on tinder is the rare adjustable 7s. But for the most parts u are going to be dealing with 6s and below(mostly 6s,havent come across many fugly women on tinder) and i understand for most guys they value bagging 7s and up and some only value bagging 9s and 10s but i see nothing wrong with 6s considering it is above average.

Agreed. I think it's a waste of right swipes if a chick has SC- or IG- in her profile. Especially if it's the only text in the profile. There's a good chance that some of these are actual prostitutes (as opposed to just attention whores) as well.

I feel like if you are moderately to very good looking and have at least semi stable nerves in a large enough area it can be an average and / or kinky girl gold mine but I don't know much about pulling hot girls from it.

Seconding this. In particular "I don't spend much time on Tinder" + IG handle/"write me on IG" are prevalent among egomaniacal chicks with a thirst for internet fame. This + a single hot photo in lingerie or so is the ultimate filter to don't bother for me. On the other hand linking their IG to Tinder so you can browse photos within the app shouldn't be treated as such. This is what most of attractive girls I had lays with did. After all, all of them are egomaniacs, the difference is where they are on the scale.

In Cancun-Playa Del Carmen now, 50 matches all 6+ but I used a few boosts to get them. I think this maybe contributes to poor success because girls can see I paid $ for boost? Anyway, moved convo from 6 of the 50 to whatsapp and 4 out of the 6 have flaked. So 0/50 on setting up a date down here. Mexican online game seems to be almost a carbon copy of USA online game.
