That press conference was fucking gold, they had to cut Conor's mic cause apparently he was going to bring up Floyd's history with domestic abuse. Also those Showtime exec and MGM Grand exec with their speeches shows how out of touch fucking boxing really is. They were all just fellating each other about how 'we are so great and did an amazing job making this fight happen'. This is where the UFC excels at promotion compared to boxing by just letting the fighters do the talking and let them banter back and forth. This whole bullshit scripted speech format was retarded and I hope they change it up for the remainder of the tour.

Yes he is. There was an article yesterday about how he can't pay his 2015 taxes. He blamed it on illiquidity but a lot of people doubt it. The dude spends money faster than he makes it - and he's made $700 million in his career. And it's not a well-diversified stock and bond portfolio, it's diamond ipods, yachts and private jets - stuff that doesn't depreciate well. Plus, he's a gambling addict. I say he's broke a decade after his last fight.

Conner talks shit better than anyone in the game. But he's going to lose a boxing match, I don't care how old Floyd is.

Highly doubt that considering his father is a trainer and has been in his life since day one. At worst he would of been a janitor that was a former trainer.

This fight would be more interesting if they truly hated each other, which I don't think is the case. This fight is more about two guys trying to make as much $$$$$ as possible.

Also, the press conference reminded me of the old WWE/WCW shoots before a big match. What cha gonna do McGregor when Money Mayweather runs wild on you?
I will get the fight for free on AFN out here in the Middle East but I am 50/50 on whether I will get up that early to watch it.

Ya I think it's a real long shot for McGregor. I'm not going to pay to see it, but I will be checking for the results as soon as possible and Youtube highlights.

The drama is mostly manufactured, WWF style, to make drama and hype. But I do think they both really want to win, and win by KO. If it's anything like Mayweather vs Pacquiao, it will be a huge disappointment and hit for boxing. Floyd better not just play defense the whole fight and point out. There will be booing, possibly riots, if people get ripped off again and get a very boring fight.

I'm not sure which weight of gloves would help McGregor the most. If they had lighter or MMA gloves, the many quick but not super powerful hits that McGregor will surely take would be more damaging. Maybe 10oz is a sweet spot where McGregor can do the Homer Simpson strategy and survive long enough to get a lucky knockout hit in, and still be able to get the kinetic energy to Floyd.

For sure Connor is a way better actor and shit talker, and is more charismatic. That press conference was worth watching.

I thought the press conference was extremely contrived, to the point of being unwatchable. There's no real animosity. It looked like two guys trying to hype a fight that everyone knows will be completely one-sided. Respect to McGregor, he'll be set for life, and all he has to do is take a shellacking for a few rounds.

Personally I also thought the suit was dreadful. I prefer my fighters with more menace and class than McGregor could ever hope to muster.
