North Africans have a physical type that's very different from Arabians and people from the Near East. The only "real" Arabs are the people from the Arabian peninsula, they only make up maybe 10-15% of the arab world. But they've spread their genes a bit all over the Mediterrannean, including into parts of Europe like Sicily, Spain or Malta.

Most people in the Levant define themselves as Arabs culturally, but racially they're a mix of various semitic people, Mediterranneans and Caucasians. Egyptians also have a separate physical type, though they also identify as Arabs.

Europeans were Christian for one to two millenia, it's a central part of European identity, Christianity was shaped by Europe and vice versa. Wrong on both counts, Beaune is a small town, the Hospices catered to the whole region. They were run by Catholic nuns, and drew from the entire region, and were a part of a network of hospitals across Burgundy run by the clergy:

Right, I did say that Egyptians identify as Arabs. Many also do identify with the ancient Egyptians though (particularly the Copts), so there is a unique dual identity here, right?
