I disagree with the premise I have bolded out above. I think that it is limited by the idea that the clock can't undwind, or the genie can't go back into the bottle. I submit that this idea of a static social fabric (or unidirectional social fabric) is incorrect.

Look at Sweden or other parts of Europe where, unless something is done, in the next few generations the clock will rewind on the current "equality" status. Society and history are not static or unidirectional. Gays have the right to marry in the United States, but it wasn't so only a couple of years ago and it may not be so again.

Women may never willingly give up the right to vote in Western societies, but with the way things are going, doesn't mean that someone might not just take it from them. Women will go back to home and hearth if men demand them to.

All these talk about children raise a huge dilemma.

My parents, as most Asian parents, are not the best at raising a child to be an interesting ladykiller, but they certainly gave us everything so that we could have the best chance at life.

They did all they could so that both my sister and I become the pinnacle of success for my country. My sister is 40 and already retired as she got fuck you rich in finance and real estate, and now lives in Canada. I got the "intelectual" reputation and now settles in Paris. That's more than any middle class Asian parents could hope for.

That said, i dont think they are happy. While they are very very proud of us, we both now live in the other side of the country. I see them maybe once a year at most. My sister even less.

What's more, each of us really got on with our lives and as busy as lives in the Western world could be, we grow all the more distant from my parents, both physically and emotionally.

When I think about it, it makes me incredibly sad because deep down I really love my parents for what they have done for us. But in the same time there's not much we could do as we keep growing so different, living in different cultures. I cringe of the day they get weak and old, because there's no fucking way I'm putting them in a nursing home, but it's not like I can abandon my life and everything in France to come live in Vietnam and take care of them. Neither can my sister.

So by wanting the best for your children, this might mean you will end up being distant to them.

So there you have it. Even if you do raise your children "right", there's no guarantee. It just doesn't work that way. My girlfriend loves her mom deeply, but as soon as she graduates she would also be leaving the city, so her mom will be alone.

And here I thought, my girl's mom gave all her life for her 3 daughters. She was divorced and never remarried, didn't even asked for one cent from her ex-husband. Her whole life involved going to work, going back home making dinner for her children, go to sleep, then go to work again. This forum fascinates me so deeply at times.

I remember 3 years ago how 90% of us were not trying to get wifed up or anything, now I'd say we have such a large conservative contingent that you are almost expected to tout the "get married, keep your wife in the kitchen and knocked up" line. Very interesting.

As far as getting snipped goes, that's a deeply personal decision that I don't think I can prescribe or proscribe. It's simply something that would have to be approached with great circumspection. I do know some men who are genuinely happy with the idea that they don't have to worry about having kids and a family, but such men are rare and they are not exactly always the best role models since they are often defective or massively talented in a way that would influence them to have no interest in the usual family formation scheme.

Either way, I would not allow pressure for or against a family to influence my decision. Running the numbers, I honestly could not tell a woman I am ready to lead a family. It'd be bullshit and it would show.

On the same token, don't let the forum tell you that you shouldn't have a family if that's what you really want since you should be pursuing what you want now instead of later. The timing of this discussion is perfect. I haven't posted in quite a while because I lost the login info for my old username and putzed around about getting it fixed. In the end, Roosh just told me to make a new one, and the day it goes live this thread pops up.

I was just talking with TravelerKai and Fortis about this recently. This very topic is a large part of what is wrong with the manosphere at the moment. TravelerKai and scorpion made most of the same points I would make, but there are a couple things specifically that must be addressed.

I understand where these dudes are coming from. There was a time when I was actively considering and saving up to get a vasectomy. At the same time, however, my world view was very nihilistic. Cr33pin refers to it as my Napalm J period. I was soaked in booze, hated the world, and felt like the only thing it deserved was a global napalm bomb to force a reset on humanity. For those same reasons, getting a vasectomy seemed like the best idea. Why the hell would I want to bring a new life into a fucked up place such as this? Suffice to say, laying off the booze for a while, clearing my head up, and focusing on my health had a huge effect on my perspective.

Since then, I look at this way of doing things as misguided at best. At worst, it's extremely nihilistic and dangerous to future generations. Sure, there are some people, men and women both, who were just simply never meant to have kids. Barring those few, however, there is a whole world out there of men who should be starting families, raising kids, and building a better future. If we, as men who claim to have taken the redpill, support and encourage this kind of behavior, then we are terrible ambassadors for our movement.

What the manosphere needs are fathers, not just biological fathers, but spiritual fathers. Mentors and role models guiding the way towards a better future where family, loyalty, respect, and appreciation for life are the cornerstones of society. Stop encouraging whorish behavior and over the years the trend will swing back towards a more wholesome picture of femininity and womanhood. But we can't expect that to ever happen if we're out there turning every fresh cute face into our best rendition of a Jackson Pollock painting. Wishful thinking? Regarding kids, I've come full circle back to where I was before all the booze. Having recently married and soon to be on the downhill slope to 40, the prospect excites me. It gives me chills to know that I will someday have the shared responsibility of molding a fresh new mind and soul, and shaping it to be the best man or woman they could possibly be for our future. But that wouldn't be possible if I had not been honest with myself about what I wanted and used that as a guide for discerning whether my wife was the right fit. I looked at everything, her friends, her family, her habits, her work, etc. Having come from a very tight knit family, I knew that was something I wanted to emulate when I started my own. Point is, you absolutely must know your own values before you can start looking for a mate, and saying they're all lying whores or cum dumpsters and running out and getting snipped is a cop-out, an easy way to get out of doing the real work of self-assessment, discernment, and taking on a higher level of responsibility.

And if you're worried about your kids not being there for you when you're old, well, you have to model the behavior you want to see in your children. Working your ass off to the point that your kids never see your face or feel your touch is not "being there for them", it is providing for them financially, and there's a huge difference. When I was growing up, my father worked his ass off, but he was home nearly every day at 5pm and would drag my ass out of the house to do chores and random farmwork. He was a hardass, for sure, and there were times we didn't get along well, but he was home every day, so his presence was felt. We also visited my grandparents every other weekend. My father and grandfather didn't have a great relationship, but my dad made a point to go see them at least twice a month. The same went for my mother's family. Sure, some people don't live close enough to be able to do that, but phone calls, letters, emails, pictures, can suffice. I live on the opposite side of the world from my family and I still call them at least once a month, visit once a year if possible, and would drop everything in a moment's notice if they needed me back for something. My wife and I go to her parent's for dinner every other weekend, a habit we established and committed to long before we ever got married. The behavior you model to your kids is, for the most part, what you will see them repeat down the line. Be a good model and let the rest work itself out.

I meandered a bit there, so to bring it back home, encouraging and supporting this kind of behavior goes right back to what I said about modeling. We should not be encouraging or modeling this type of behavior because all it does is destroy and dismantle the very work we are, or at least should be trying to do, and that is: Encourage and empower men to be great leaders and fathers for future generations.

Why do you want to chase ass nonstop until you get too old to do it? That last 10-20 years won't be pleasant at all. I got relatives in their 50s that did this. None of them are happy. In fact, they are miserable and have loads of issues, that are obviously related to the lack of relationship with women and not having children. In fact I notice large differences between my uncles that have more than one child and the ones that just have one child, divorces aside. The ones that have grandchildren are more mentally/emotionally stable than the ones that do not.

Do you really want the exact same lifestyle at 20 and 30 all the way to 50? If you do, you will probably have some life goal failures and regrets. I'm sure Fortis does not want to be banging the same ol hoes with the same ol money he has at 50. I bet most men on the forum do not want that either if you press them for the truth without fear of not looking cool around the other forum guys. It's going to take alot more effort to do the same if not better when you are past your peak.
