Russia and South Africa: Reciprocal waiver of visa requirements
Not relevant to many people here, but a topic worthy of discussion between me and my countrymen:

This is from the Russian embassy in RSA's website:

"The Protocol between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of South Africa on the reciprocal repeal of visa requirements for foreign travel passports, that was concluded by an exchange of official documents, will come into force on March 30.

Under the Protocol’s provisions, citizens of Russia and South Africa travelling without the intention of working, studying or living in the other country’s territory, are free from visa requirements and can enter, stay or transit without a visa for a duration of up to 90 days."

Has anyone taken advantage of this? Does anyone have access to the full press release? Am I reading this correctly- i.e I can literally get on a plane, do whatever I want (excluding work and study) with no paperwork requirement?

I have been considering visiting Ukraine for a long time, purely because of the lower cost, but where I'd really like to go is Russia. According to numbeo the cost of living is on par with Johannesburg, which I can tolerate if there's no Visas involved.

I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't somehow related to the burgeoning white genocide that's growing in the shadows over there.

Former Wight Sith Ifrican farmers are high value refugees. Strong work ethic, and massively red-pilled. There's one that's set up shop not far from me and he's a serious dude. Like what you'd get if you crossed a farmer, a special forces soldier and a Brahma bull. Nice guy but you get the sense that he's had to see and do some ugly stuff in his time.

I have to wonder if Putin is opening a door for white farmers to cut and run if it comes to that. I feel sorry for them but if they stay they're going to get dumped in mass graves and the elites are going to make certain that nobody outside the fringe hears a peep about it.

There is indeed a growing community in Georgia for South African farmers:

If only Europe would follow suit.
Here you have a community of 5m people who idealise western culture, speak English, (as well as an offshoot of Dutch) and are eager to assimilate.
I cannot help but feel aggrieved that my Dutch ancestors would rather let somalis and syrians in above us.

Sure, I guess we could make it about white genocide. I'd say the thread being in the travel section though, it would be nice to keep it about travel rather than dipping it in the bile from the other half of the forum.

But lucky them for this at least. Most westerners have to go through an effing ridiculous and expensive process to visit Russia. I wanted to go but I think it'll be a long time before I ever do, if ever. I'm not going through that process and spending that kind of entry money unless I decide to commit to 2+ months there, which isn't going to happen. Easier to visit 'stans than it is to visit Russia.

Not linked to any perceived "white genocide" to be honest. Probably more to do with the increasing trade relations with South Africa (see potential nuclear energy deals etc.).

Interesting news, though Russia does not feature on my immediate travel list so I'm unlikely to take advantage.

Sorry, wasn't looking to derail. Just trying to connect dots.

I should have checked the subforum the thread was in. Apologies.
