Hey,

Going to Croatia late July but can't figure how much time to spend at each place. I'm flying into Zagreb and will probably spend one day there just to check out the city. From there I'm heading South through the Croatian coast before going to Budva then flying back out of Podgorica. The only thing I would like to know is how much time and what cities to hit up in the middle such as Zadar, Split, Hvar, Dubrovnik. I've heard Hvar is the best place so should I spend the majority of my time there? Or should I check out the other cities for like a day each?? Thanks

I've been to Croatia, but I wasn't there to meet women so my recommendations are from a purely tourist perspective.

Zagreb is skippable. It's a former Soviet city and the Soviet parts are just kind of ugly and demoralizing, as Soviet cities tend to be. Old Zagreb is kind of nice, but not worth more than a half day.

Dubrovnik is the best in my opinion. The walled city is amazing and you can go up a nearby hill to see it from above.

Split is also pretty cool and seemed to have more nightlife than Dubrovnik.

I didn't go to Hvar, but I heard that's where the best nightlife is.

I don't know anything about Zadar.

Split, Hvar, and Brač are all great with plenty of potential. Avoid Dubrovnik unless you want a day of sightseeing or are a big GOT fan, it is tourist hell and not a conductive environment to game. I stayed in Zagreb for a couple of chilled days and enjoyed the local talent but it is only worth a day for seeing as Bland states. Check out any festivals that may be on while you're there. If it's late July I think you will just miss Ultra Europe which is top class in terms of music and potential targets. Any festival in Croatia should be a good time though with many varied targets for collecting flags.

I have been reading many datasheets so its about time to share my small wisdom on Croatia.

Visit Split, and fall in love with the city and the long leged women, perfect for day game. From there visit Hvar, which became an party driven island (lots of brits there, i told you), i personally dont like it, but it would be a missed chance. Many tourist go there for 2 nights party only, thats pretty much the vibe there, which is a pitty cause its an stunnig island. If you pull there it will be an foreigner, for sure.

Next station which was NEVER named but its a MUST is Makarska. Its the somehow chosen city of thousand of bosnians for their summer break. Nothing really special about the place its just full of talent. There is Buba Beach for day game and Deep Club for the nightshift. Girls tend to go there in groups of 3-6. Its a no brainer just go, you can thank me later.

As mentioned, you should check out the festivals, i personally went to the Love International Festival in Tisno and i can highly recommend it.

One more thing. If you go to Dubrovnik, you may want to plan your visit there to correspond to times when there are fewer cruise ships there. It can get crazy if there are a lot of ships in port.

Croatian coast is stunning and its towns beautiful and full of history.
That said; July month will get busy, so some planing when it comes to accommondation is essential.

Dubrovnik and Split are not the cheapest places if you are on a tight budget. Montenegro is by far cheaper and is really worth your time.
Dubrovnik is the nr. 1 tourist spot in Croatia, and also sees alot cruise ships docking up and flooding the streets with sheeps.
But it is worth to see and spend a night or two.
One day/night in Zagreb is enough.

Split is a little more relaxed, has some nice beaches, markeds, good for going around on a bike.
Never did go to Makarska, but many whom I met on my travels in croatia spoke highly of this place.

Zagreb is largest Croatian city and as a such offers pretty different perspective than other Croatian cities, namely these on the coast.
Everything is different and I suggest looking at Zagreb datasheets and deciding on if that is your thing or not.

If you plan to go solely on the coast check out Zadar and Split. Dubrovnik is a popular tourist attraction and as people said, lots of people from cruisers so I don't know what talent you will see there. You know that mainly older people travel in cruisers so maybe our local girls will be bit under the radar.

Also, search function is your friend. There was a lot written for Croatia here.

Hmm. I'm detecting some sarcasm here.

But yes Croatia was part of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, which was communist and part of the sphere of influence of the USSR.

Former Yugoslavia was never part of USSR but it was communist under Tito's rule... I think Bland just means the architecture was modeled after the Soviets. I think I will just spend one day in Zagreb and a day in Dubrovnik... rest of time in Split, Hvar, Brac, Makarska, and Budva. Don't want to deal with too many tourists! I know what he meant, just busting his balls haha. Really there is not lot of "communism inspired" architecture in Croatia. You can see it maybe in some suburbs, but centers of the cities are mix between old parts (medieval architecture) and new skyscrapers.

After 1948 and the resolution of Informbiro, Yugoslavia stopped all relations with USSR and it developed outside their influence as a socialist country, but with complete access to the West and its culture.

But enough of politics. Visit coast but plan before. Don't be in the rush and just go straight through it as you will miss beauties of my country.

I thought i could ad some advise to make your stay more comfortable.

In Zagreb the best option is to stay in a hostel nearby the Jelacic-square. Throughout the day visit the cvjetni-trg(flower-square) and all the sidestreets in this area. Stunners like to drink coffee all day long here, they even have a name for those girls(sponzorke). Later on you can move to the tkalciceva-road, which is full of bars and can be fun, depends on the night ad your mood. Should you be there over the weekend, check out if the venues at "Jarun" are open, they would be the best adress.

When you head to the coast, the question is where to stay. I always stayed in private rooms/condos and i will eyplain why. It offers the best price/value relation. Just watch out for all the „Soba“-signs, the cities are owerflown with. Dont expect something special, they will all let you check the rooms first. Out of my experience, choose whatever makes you comfy but dont believe that the „style“ of your place will anyhow help you with the chicks. If they like you they dont care. Choose your location wisely, which means take your time and stroll around. It is a common thing that the houseowner divides his property into separated rooms, so he can rent it to multiple groups. This is what you are searching for! Ask the owner who stays in, he will tell you. The reason this is important, is the culture of pre-drinking, which is a common thing in croatia. So look out for some hot girls sitting in the garden, bring your own high quality booze and start interacting and having fun. If you are not the biggest douchebag hey will let you join them. I highly recommend this and only this way of housing by the coast, it can open you unknown doors. Like i said, the girls tend to come in groups, so they have other colleagues which will be introduced to you, cause your the friendly, funny american.

And 1 more thing to consider. You can't go to a seaside city in Croatia during the tourist season and expect to get notches from local girls.

You should, however, try your luck with tourist girls, who are here solely for the purpose of having fun in a place where nobody knows them. Which is true for tourist girls everywhere in the world, basically.
