I almost always do it. One big reason is that I smoke at nights, and while smoking does give you good social benefits (see any G Manifesto post), it also makes your mouth smell bad. So I almost always chew a piece of gum which I renew every hour or so to keep it fresh.
So how do you think it makes a guy look? I've looked at myself in the mirror and I kind of like the way the jaw muscles move, I think it's attractive. But some people say it is impolite to talk to a person while chewing, or that it looks immature, or whatever.

BTW, here is a good line for when a girl says your mouth or clothes smell of cigarettes - you reply "Hey, a real man has three smells on him - tobacco, gunpowder, and... horses!"
There a number of ways to go from here, such as:
- if she asks why horses, you say this is from an old cowboy movie, and perhaps the modern version should be gasoline, then tell her you'll give her a ride on your motorcycle sometime so she can get some of that smell on her, too.
- if she asks why gunpowder, start the bad boy topic and how women always fall for them, throwing in hints about what a bod boy you are yourself.

For me I feel like if I get anxious the gum doesn't help and I'll start chewing it quickly which I think shows it more. For breath after smoking I like tic tacs.

I never chew gum in a club. i always see guys chewing their gum way to fast. looks really nervous.

I use mints, super strong ones like Fishermans friend.

I often chew gum. Sometimes it's hard to be completely still, so the chewing dissipates that energy, and keeps me from moving the rest of my body much. It can make you seem more aloof, if you so desire it. I don't chew fast.

I always have gum in my mouth. Most of the times I'm not even chewing it but just have it sitting in my cheek. It is only going to help or hinder you if you allow it to.

I gnaw on a lizard's shoulder if we are connecting really well. Nothing major, just a nip to let her know I mean business.

In regards to the gum, I don't smoke so I don't chew that shyt. But it helps though cos stank breath is a huge turnoff from both ends.

Atomic fireball! This is a must have for hard closers. Girls can't resist sucking on your red spicy lips with one of these in your mouth!

Gnawing uncontrollably at gum can definitely impinge on your cool vibe. If you don't know how you chew gum, chances are you chomp on it in a way that doesn't help your cause.

I usually chew gum through the night, but I make sure to not be that guy chawing on it like a dork. I usually only keep a piece for a few minutes to freshen up then ditch it. Pop a new piece just before approaching, chew the kind with a hard shell, the crunch of the shell for the first few minutes will make you more aware of it in your mouth without having to focus on it.
