They are both from Germanic stock me thinks (Vikings and Anglo-Saxons). The Vikings also left their mark (dna) in the British Islands, specially Ireland.

Exactly - the English defeated the Scottish, but everyone is rather rooting for the Scottish ever since Braveheart.

It is also a matter of freedom. Intrinsically we know that a Viking or even a lawless pirate was more free than a Roman soldier or a British one. Of course the latter were more effective powerful soldiers (and no pussies either like shown in the movies - Roman soldiers sometimes used to rip out their back teeth to not feel pain before a major battle).

However the issue is that a lot of people base their entire identity and existence on what someone who happened to be related to them in the past did. I wasn't addressing you specifically with my post either... I'm being highly general.

There is no more nazi germany.. no more vikings. There i just YOU and whatever you make of your life and what you want to achieve.

How does it manifest? Well you see a lot of people dressing/acting like people in the past because that's what their identity is based on.. instead of doing their own thing and making their own life.

I agree with you.

It's good, that you have been able to clarify, because that is the issue. There is nothing wrong with "We wuz vikings" the wrong thing is if it becomes some sort of excuse of absence of self-improvement.

This threat is one big shitshow.

It's good and necessary to have role models - father, people of excellence in a field that you are trying to pursue and here comes some sort of mythical archetype. It's the same with God, or more like Gods, you are trying to get closer to ultimate perfection (usually not possible to achieve), which is the best, as if you are trying to pursue ultimate perfection in term of this god or that, or this "mythical" archetypal warrior, you will always have a space to improve. The same goes for any movement, movements and parties cannot have archivable goals because after archiving their existence would be pointless, the same goes on individual level.

- Rudewboy - I am not sure if your life have been totally absent with role-models but boys worshipping Batman is essential part of life, they must worship someone. (Not sure if Batman is the best scenario, but they have to and should.)

Either way - we have to shape our identity on our own. All those ancestral symbols are just that - symbols for masculinity, but you have to find a relevant current symbol and motivation for that.

Exactly - while theirs was a warrior religion, they raided because their lands were rather difficult to grow, harvests were meager and raiding was part of economic pressure.

Nah - I don't dispute atrocities of the Brits - their English ancestors were equally nasty.

My allegiance is mostly to truth, reason, logic and the eternal force hat permeates us all. Our meat-coverings are transient anyway. Also keep in mind that history is very manipulated in our times - or what parts are especially stressed and repeated forever - all have to focus on the desired elite driven agenda points.

After a certain state of consciousness you could never endorse something outright evil.

However some men become Neonazis because they grow up on the streets and Neonazis give them the only form of tribal safety. That is true of some of them.

I have an extended cousin who was a Neonazi in his youth - he grew up without a father and dirt-poor. He turned away from the ideology in his 20s and became quite a strong born-again Christian. He is married now, has a family, visits church often and is a true believer - like daily prayer.

Currently the problem of Nazism is absolutely overstated. And White interest groups or White Nationalism (as in wanting a predominantly white nation state) are clearly legitimate concerns, but they are instantly conflated to being KKK-Hitleresque. Nazi groups should be banned, but I would ban other radical groups like Antifa, BlackLivesMatter (because it creates a false narrative and ignores legitimate reasons - it incites violence). I would also ban Islam.

In our world the mainstream system prefers not to blame Islam for terror, not to blame BlackLivesMatter activists for murdering cops, not to blame black roving gangs for killing and torturing white farmers in Africa. To them it was all about poverty. In reality it was the same racism and intolerance that we saw in Nazi Germany. There is little difference.

Even your question is a symbol of our times. I could ask the same why Black guys don't become supremacists and start murdering Whites and raping white girls whenever they can?

I'm honestly not sure what the term "white supremacist" means. All I know is that it's one of those bad things, which is supposed to be indefensible. A straw man. Personally, I'm pretty big on the cultural legacy of Europeans - art, music, literature. The Chinese have their own literature, they are not going to keep Shakespeare alive. It's up to white people. I feel genuinely sad when I see that young people are taught that Shakespeare is 90% about how bad sexism was in the old days, with 5% anti-Semitism (I believe a Jew appears in one of Shakepeare's 37 plays) and 5% some other stuff. This is the kind of thing that motivates me as much as anything.

A descent into tribalism, I guess, is one way to cleanse the gene pool of lesser elements but I don't' really see it as the solution to the world's problems.
