I have an emotional support chicken outside right now, it's on skewers with some peppers and onions and will be ready in about 10 minutes.

This PTSD bullshit is out of control.

And why on earth would you give someone a service pit bull?

Aloha!

Aloha!

Actually dogs of the hunting variety - terriers etc. are more difficult to control.
Combat dogs like pit bulls are occasionally super-tame like butter.

This one has the looks of one of those.

Aggression potential is not automatically manifested in aggression expression.

My guess is that they saved the dog from a previous owner and they re-purposed him due to his peaceful demeanor. Theoretically they could breed out the aggressiveness out of pit-bulls just as they have done so out of the Great Danes which were bred for combat with bears - and most of them were highly aggressive back then.

RE: Woman shoots PTSD service dog 5 times.
The reason hurting dogs viscerally enrages most people is that we co-evolved with dogs to the point that many of the instinctual behaviors we manifest when interacting with children also apply to dogs. We even engage in babytalk with them ("Who's a good boy? Whoooos a good boy? Yes he is!"), and dogs themselves have even evolved to respond to that. It makes sense that if we subconsciously view them as children that we'd find cruelty to dogs as a form of aberrant behavior that needs to be purged from the tribe, and frankly our instincts are correct. Psychopaths routinely start out on animals before they move on to people.

POLICE: Veteran charged with shooting dog may have committed suicide

FAYETTEVILLE, NC (AP) - North Carolina police say they're investigating the possible suicide of an Army veteran charged with shooting her service dog as she laughed.

Fayetteville Police Lt. Todd Joyce said Sunday investigators believe that 23-year-old Marinna Rollins killed herself. Joyce declined to explain what evidence detectives found. He says police were called to her apartment early Sunday after her body was found by friends.

Rollins and 25-year-old Jarren Heng were charged last month with cruelty to animals after investigators say they tied the dog to a tree and shot it multiple times with a rifle. Cumberland County District Attorney Clark Reaves said the two could be heard laughing on a video recording they made as the dog was killed.

Court documents show Rollins received a medical retirement from the Army in January.

I'm one of the luckiest man alive, nothing in my life has been easy...

Killing in cold blood such beings is pure Evil and should be sanctionned by a Death Sentence.

Is this good?

I respect dogs but I never understand the canine worship as to view a dog's life more important than a humans. It is a western thing 100%.

There should be respect to not abuse all those that are living but I don't understand how watching humans die is fine, but not a dog, somehow that is too taboo.

Majority of animal lovers rationalise it as people are responsible for their actions and circumstances, animals aren't. Dogs occupy a special plinth in western society because we have had them so long and we see them as more than simple pets or tools to use as guards or hunting weapons.

Lately the ownership of a cat or dog has become a fixation of sorts and has seen the rise of more charity going to animals than children. Hence why dogs>>people in their mind.

But if you try and reason with hardcore animal lovers about this whole thing they will eventually give you the "you just don't get it mane, you gotta have loved one mane!"

Its vomit inducing to see those people behave that way but nothing beats the affection of an animal or a child.

I can see why the resentment for dogs has risen as more women and young couples in general become fixated on raising dogs instead of children. This probably comes from the easy attention whoring factor of dogs on social media and lack of traditional values.

Did they ever release information about this chick's army record? I want to know what "deployment" gave her "PTSD."

An interesting perspective from the ex husband apparently.

I submit this an an interesting mental exercise. Find the red flags in the article and extrapolate on the journey that western post modern feminism leads to that otherwise physically beautiful women become....dead.
For your critique gents.

http://popularmilitary.com/exclusive-own...-happened/

“The dog’s name isn’t even Cam!” Matt said frustratedly. “Everyone keeps calling him “Cam” and that’s not his name. His name is Huey.”

Several outlets have claimed that Huey (identified as Cam) was Rollins’ dog, as well as a service dog- something Matt says is completely untrue.

“Nobody’s tracking that I’m the owner of the dog,” he noted. “The police have the adoption paperwork; it has my name on it. But…I’m technically legally married to her [Rollins] still.”

Growing up less than a mile apart in Maine, Matt and Rollins eventually began dating after high school, having known each other most of their lives.

“In high school, she was the goth-emo girl,” he said. “I was a star football player.”

After completing basic training in 2014, Rollins failed out of Airborne School and was given assignment orders to Korea, which is regarded as a less-than-desireable duty station. In September of 2014, Matt and Rollins were married while she was on her leave.

In January of 2015, a traumatic event forced Rollins to return to the United States after only four months in Korea. During this period, she was diagnosed with a series of mental disorders, including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, narcissistic personality disorder, bipolar disorder and other ailments. She was later medically discharged at 80% disability, according to Matt.

Looking back, Matt recalls that Rollins returned to him a different woman.

“She definitely came back a little bit different,” he said, noting that it wasn’t long after she returned that they became estranged and later separated.
While they would be separated, they would get back together, only for Matt to find that Rollins had been cheating on him in October of 2015. However, due to a North Carolina law that mandated that married couples must wait one year before getting a divorce, the two remained married- albeit separated and estranged.

Eager to get over the pain of the relationship, Matt adopted Huey from a shelter, hoping to find solace in the legendary bond between man and canine. Living in an apartment with two of his friends, life with Huey was getting better by the day......

Read the rest. And for fucks sake lets train ourselves and children better than this example.

Aloha!

Looks like the service dog angle was just a way to fuck with/get back at her estranged ex as well as a little special snow-flaking (which is why I believe so many register their "service dog"....just to feel like laws can be bent to them Dodgy)

There are alot of pits unfortunately due to the popular culture. On the whole, 'Bully breeds are great dogs. You just need to remember that its the overall prey drive in dogs that humans have modified to suit particular niches....retrieving, sled pulling, the various hunting ie pointing, baying up quarry, guarding, companionship etc. You train dogs in tandem to their own particular prey drive adaptations ie I didn't train my herding breed dog the same way that I did my hound. Pits are great companion and family dogs, individual traits and particular idiosyncrasies not withstanding.

It makes sense that pairing Vets with one of if not THE most prevalent dog in kill shelters today would be a win-win.

Don't people, especially women, register their dogs as "service animals" so that they take them into restaurants, offices, and other establishments that would normally ban pets?

I'd theorize that it would be so. My personal examples are replete with only females making up those who've registered as such. Hell I just got out of bed with one of my plates. Supposedly very accomplished, monetarily well off, high value (in my liberal cities P.O.V....) woman who has a extremely unhealthy attachment to her dog; that cried against my chest just last night while not knowing "whats wrong....". Its happened before after fucking her; I can only surmise that its a release of misplaced emotional crap from no purpose in life she keeps bottled up each and every day. I can't say I don't care totally; its sad as I believe the lack of real male intimacy and children are the root, yet no amount of salient points I've brought up in the past will dissuade her from not seeing how making $200k+ while in your early 30's can't compare to the above mentioned points. Oh well, hence plate status. There's a horse and water analogy in there somewhere. Can any rational person dispute that the lack of children occupying a western women's time has been taken up by pets?

For example.

http://www.naturalthinker.net/psychology_pets.pdf

Harris Poll, May 2011: “
Examining pet ownership by various demographic categories,
the poll finds
women (69%) are much more likely to own a pet than men
(55%)

Kennel Club survey (Britain) (2000-2011): “
Forty per cent of the country’s
pedigrees are registered to women, compared with only 21.5 per cent to men. The remainder are recorded as having joint owners – the vast majority of which are couples....

While I agree with BortimusPrime that this explains why some people have such a visceral reaction to people being cruel to animals (especially in that it is a strong indicator of a person being a psychopath/cruel to humans), this does NOT explain the far more alarming reaction, which is that of putting animals before humans because the animal doesn't have the cognition of a human and is therefore "more innocent."

This, this is explained by people's mollycoddled emotional immaturity.

Having pets is fine, having an emotional connection to your pet is fine, but when you consider your pet more valuable than your daughter or your sister or your close friends or even a decent human being in your neighborhood, you need to do some introspection and see where you lost your center.

Brother; I feel ya.

6 Tours Special Operations OEF/OIF. Broken back. I never question another Vets pain and such however.....I'm 8 yrs out and still fighting for disability. Pretty sure I (yourself as well I'm assuming) didn't take a 4 month sojourn to Korea, fuck a bunch of thirsty dudes, then have PTSD from it....(it does beg the question in all fairness to ask, what happened in Korea that sent her home? I won't take anything less than her enlisted ass being tied up and bukkaked/gang banged, forced to do a Tijuana donkey show for a week behind the O Club bar to have the slightest remorse for her at this point)

I will add that it was my absolute disgust with both the dishonorable rhetoric our country feeds us that my gullible self swallowed hook line and sinker for the 'ol stars and stripes, and my own self criticisms, pride and anger that made up most of the lengthy time frame to file.... but still 80% for her?!? Fuck me that's like close to $2g's a month alone she's getting as she was still considered married....?!

I got traction on it now due to some of my team mates getting me in, finally.

I surmise she had a volcanic meltdown during the airborne training, perhaps after a training injury. So, they washed her out of whatever combat-related MOS she was supposed to have gone into, put her in an office job, and sent her to Korea hoping the isolation would straighten her out. She probably drank herself silly on the cheap liquor at the juicy bars off base, became a full-blown alcoholic along with whatever opioids she was taking to deal with her likely injuries from basic and the airborne, and had another meltdown that got her released.

I thought that a military diagnosis of "narcissistic personality disorder" often happened with troops, especially E-2s or E-3s, who try to boss everyone around even though they don't have any actual authority.

Airborne....

Oh you mean that school THESE days where you jump out of the plane tied to a metric tonne of shit; let the plane deploy your parachute; which apparently takes 3 weeks of running in formation in boots that shortens your stride so much it damn near intentionally gives you shin splints....doctored up into a program that should take about 4 consecutive days to learn. (one day ground training, one day tower, 2 days doing your 5 jumps...Boring)

And that was.....hard for her? Angel
Don't get me wrong. The last night jump I twisted my ankle on. Hence why I'd rather HALO in...Banana

Your prob right in your assessment tho.

Just its a little laughable that the school is/was trying to be something its not;which is based on the accomplishment of men who in this day and age would be closer in line to Ranger if not Spec Op's quality/mentality personal types...not the pipeline EPR/OPR check box tab it is now.

RE: Woman shoots PTSD service dog 5 times.
The difference in all our attitudes to animals (specifically cats and dogs though) is interesting and not a little telling.

We laugh at the cat lady who collects cats as a form of comfort, with the cat pretty much being a surrogate child. Who knows, it may even be a surrogate partner as well. But she does no harm, and the cats do no harm. The cat lady has already damaged herself and society a little bit - it's all damage control by that point. We have a cat lady where I live. I pity her. I don't judge her because I don't know her. She is shunned by everyone. She has mental health problems, so it's not for me to say - I have enough other shit in my life.

But we also laugh at those humans (both male and female) that walk around with their latest pedigree as if they are showing at Crufts, bursting with pride (at least I do). These people wear their trophy animals as just that - a look at me, aren't I wonderful sort of thing. Great Dane owners come to mind. You could feed a small family for the week for the same price as that dog's food, but they don't value humanity. They are above humanity. They are better than the other 90 percent of humanity. They are snobs.

So, there are distinctions to be made.

A woman who lived next door to me who was also a lesbian, kept and bred Great Danes in her garden, building a little brick home for them to live in. The little (or rather big) fuckers would howl every morning like a cockerel at dawn waking up the entire neigbourhood. People hated her. Not against the law to wake up 30 people around you every single fucking day, but throw a party once a year and keep people awake for one night and you get carted off to jail for being a nuisance. Never could figure that out. Keep the animals in a place where they don't disturb others, please.

But English people in the country have a sort of code of recognition depending on the hound you keep. A Spaniel will denote one type of person, and a Jack Russell another, and a Great Dane will signal something else about your class. Social dog whistles, if you will.

So I do get how some people find it hard to understand the whole dog worship thing - it extends further out to social signalling as I just alluded to. But some people really do have a genuine and close relationship with their pet that is not about anything like this at all.

I find those that socially signal with their dogs somewhat pathetic, as is the archetypal cat lady. But they do no harm.

But many people have genuinely close relationships with their pets. It's what separates us from the lower apes. Compassion, empathy, higher consciousness through theory of mind to put ourselves in a lower being's shoes/mind. It's what makes us human.

Maybe it is a western thing. The animal abuse I saw in the ME was shocking. It is something deeply ingrained in to their psyches - it goes beyond upbringing. They are truly barbarians in this fashion.

I also have enough theory of mind to understand why some men like to breed dogs to fight. I don't agree with it. I think it's cruel. But so what. I can't stop them. The dog shows another part of its nature as well as it relishes tearing another hound apart, limb from limb. I don't even object to fox-hunting, even though I am a strict vegetarian. Let them have at it I say. I have my morals and understanding. I don't impose them on anyone else.

But for some people, the relationship they have with their pet is therapeutic. They may have been abused by humans, or be suffering some kind of trauma (as is supposedly the case here with this OP and what makes it so shocking) and an animal - a cat or a dog specifically - is a great way to connect again with feelings. To be touched. To feel loved. In a safe environment without risk of rejection or risk of being manipulated to be latterly abused, again. A dog and a cat won't do that to you.

But like George Carlin said, when you get a dog you are getting a whole heap of hurt. The pain and the grief from losing an animal that might have been through thick and thin with you, is too much to bear for some people. They are unable to keep pets ever again.

I had several cats and dogs growing up. The comfort they gave me in an unconditional manner is beyond words to express. They are gone now and I will never own another animal ever again.

I also understand why some humans would put a quick bullet through the skull of those that would abuse animals.

I've witnessed animal abuse as a child and it changes you forever. I know that many humans do not have compassion or empathy for animals, seeing them merely as beasts. And they are just beasts. But if they are beasts, then what are we? Are we not better than them? Do we not have a duty to protect them and ease their suffering while and where we can?

We can still breed them, slaughter them, eat them. Such is life. People draw the line in different places. Some people torture baby kittens in the most truly horrific of manners. Is that allowed by our higher humanity? They are just beasts right? If not, why not?

It's my understanding that those that torture animals have a screw loose somewhere. But yes, some Real Men exist who breed and fight dogs, to give one off the cuff example. Nothing to do with me. I'm not God.

I have my morals centered in an unshakable core with regard to this. One day, if I ever get healed to the extent that I would like, I will keep not just cats and dogs, but chickens and fish and all kinds. I may even end up eating some of them at the end of the day. But no cruelty. That just seems the humane way to be, for me.

As for the abuse of dogs, well there was this Staffy bitch who had been abused earlier in life. Every time a man came in the room she would act out. Wagging her tail. Approaching you, then very swiftly trying to full on hump your leg. She was fucking nuts, but a beautiful, lovely dog. I would calm her down with a stern hand, get her to stop. Then slowly stroke her and pet her to let her know she was safe and no harm would come to her. She would come around eventually. It is a beautiful thing in itself to give comfort to another sentient being.

I contrast my attitude with some of the drug dealer's attitudes that bred Staffies for fighting. "Don't stroke her" - then swiftly giving the dog a full on kick in the guts sending it halfway across the room, whimpering.

I suspect this dog came from a home like that.

Bull Terriers might be fierce fighting dogs, but their spirit can be broken as well, just like ALL humans. It's the yin and the yang.

We demarcate ourselves as to which side of the lines we are on.

The woman who kept that Staffy bitch was abused as a child herself. Unable to have normal relationships (except with abusive partners), an alcoholic. But she loved that dog and looked after it. She was no fucking cat lady put it like that. She was a hard girl herself, taking a Black and Decker to someone's legs who had raped her friend. Not someone to fuck with. But the dog was safe. And if you ever wanted to have a go abusing that dog, well good luck to you.

Life is complex and so are people when we choose to look a little deeper.

I don't pretend to know the situation with this mad bitch here who shot her PTSD dog. Maybe she suffered ill-treatment as a child, who can say. But I doubt her experience in the military is what turned her in to a beast (don't think she saw active service - correct me if I'm wrong). Some people are just a big ball of bad wrapped up in a pretty face. And just like stupid, there's no known cure for it.

It sounds to that she was indeed a narcissistic psychopath - gaming the system and playing on the PTSD thing even though she didn't have it. Manipulating weaker people around her (her b/f) to do her bidding. Self-pity.

All the while, no central core of morality. Just a big ball of bad wrapped up in a pretty face. You won't be missed.

RIP little Doggie!

EDIT:
As has been noted, it was a dog this time, but it would be a baby next, then a partner later, and who knows, an elementary school after that. This bitch should have kept her mouth shut - she could have got away with this. But the narcissist's need to tell the whole world how powerful they are, how lacking in feeling they are, was just too much. She could have killed the dog, had a baby with her partner, killed the partner, then killed the baby... all before putting her military training to good use and going hog wild in an elementary school for children.
