Another idiot on a plane - now blaming Trump

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-...d-off.html

This is what happens when you let the people of Wal-Mart get away with behaving like children -- they start getting emboldened.

The problem with airlines is usually the passengers. We all know that the quality of American women and society as a whole has been going to shit yet blame the American airlines for the decline in air-travel when the only way they can be competitive is to offer the cheapest, cut-rate fares since price is all the people of Wal-Mart care about.

"I ain't drank nothing today"

"that attendant totally lied on me"

A caste system would clean up a lot of this. In another time, she would have been a helot or similar and her words would be ignored.

I'm only sort of kidding.

RE: Another idiot on a plane - now blaming Trump
I am still not tired of people freaking out and blaming Trump. What is hysterical to me is that each and every one of these people is acting like they have a personal relationship with Trump, and that he would actually care or things will actually change or their actions will be forgiven because they are victims of a legally elected president.

On planes, pulled over for DUIs, being arrested, posting on Facebook, being a stewardess or a pilot, people are becoming less and less able to cope with the simple task of following reasonable rules and getting along with other people, and the worse they get, the more justified they feel because they didn't get the president they want.

It is amazing to me how deep in their heads he is, and how he represents everything bad in the world, including their own misbehavior and the wearing of pussy hats. I love the meltdowns of the Ashley Judds and the Meryl Streeps and the Shia LaBeoufs and the everyday people of this world. It is so delusional and out of proportion to what is going on.

It is more than a pussy pass, it is a tantrum pass to everyone, and many of them nonvoters, who didn't get the president they wanted. And I love too how they get laughed at and mocked online.

I love how they are finding a hard limit to the strategy of lying, projecting, and doubling down. Even two years ago, I never would have predicted this or thought it could possibly happen.

It is literally mass hysteria, as if there has been a craziness inside people on the left that has been dormant for years, and is now being released by the catalyst of the orange haired New Yorker, and all of us willing to laugh and mock and ignore.

When will their craziness run out of steam? What new personal failings will they blame on the president? He is making me comfort eat and gain weight, which doesn't matter because I am beautiful at every size, but still! I can't eat since he was elected! My cat has stopped giving himself baths with his tongue! I saw a raccoon throw dirt on his food! I almost went to church yesterday!

Their insane creativity knows no bounds.

They are ruining their own lives and reputations and livelihoods and thinking it will somehow punish Trump and all the people who voted for him.

What's not to love?

“The greatest burden a child must bear is the unlived life of its parents.”

RE: Another idiot on a plane - now blaming Trump
Two social forces in collision here:

First, "outrages on planes" has emerged as the latest mass hysteria (in the vein of last year's hysteria over "scary clowns"). Disruptive people are escorted off of planes all the time, people are bumped from flights all the time, passengers and cabin crew get into arguments all the time, but after an extreme case (the doctor guy) suddenly every incident is newsworthy and evidence of a disturbing new trend. Like the 23 Enigma, you notice it because you're now primed to notice it, and so you see it more often and more significantly than otherwise.

Second, even the garden-variety incidents offer easy opportunities for seeking of attention and advantage. The media coverage of the United incident is subconsciously or consciously playing into the decisions of these passengers. If someone is already drama queen enough in normal times to make a scene and in some cases exploit bad PR from it for personal gain, the spotlight on the industry over these things will embolden them to act up and act out and push things even further - lines they wouldn't have crossed in the past for fear of jail have shifted dramatically now that everyone is watching airlines for the latest outrage to get outragey over.

This last goes for secondary parties like the stroller white knight guy, too - a month ago, he probably would have ignored the matter, but now his calculus has shifted...he's both motivated to intervene by the ego-stroking opportunity to demonstrate his manliness by "saving the innocent damsel from what would surely have been another one of those shocking beatdowns if I hadn't stepped in all bold and heroic", and influenced by the knowledge (based on reaction to prior incidents) that the passengers and the media will be on his side to spare him from the usual consequences that usually would have kept him in his seat minding his own business.

These two factors suggest to me that now that the hysteria has been launched, it's not going to go away any time soon. Outrageous passenger behavior like this is going to increase in occurrence and severity over the next few months, and enjoy increasingly breathless media coverage, until we end up with new regulations designed to make air travel even more unpleasant.

There is a very funny story by Anthony Cumia after Obama was first elected.

Back when some folks thought he was going to forgive their mortgage debt and save the world, or whatever.

Someone jumped in front of his car while he was driving, feeling impervious to any repercussions because "OBAMA PRESS'DENT NA!!!!"

It's like the opposite (but still the same) is happening under Trump.
