RIP: Erin Moran
She played Jeannie Cunningham on Happy Days. Couldn't find much work after the show, wound up with a couple of loser husbands who helped squander her money of drugs/alcohol. Was evicted from the Indiana trailer park where she had been living. Found unresponsive at 56 years old after police/end responded to a 911 call.

White+under 60+trailer park+Midwest=opiate/opioid overdose.

Crazy how some people's lives turn out isn't it. Just compare her to Ron Howard.

The RIP threads with no-name post-wallers needs to change.

Can we get a single RIP thread for the post-wall/childless/bankrupt/pillpopping/etc.?

They're all the same.

... I got the bang.

I guess Millennials don't really know her. However, Xers and Boomers do remember her and this has potential to be something of an iconic moment showing the decline into hopelessness of white America...

Another child actor who, instead of developing life skills or her career, decided to start partying and ended up losing everything. I'm sure she blamed everyone else, I know she hated Scott Baio. When it became fashionable (and profitable), she accused everyone involved in production of molesting her. She spent her whole life causing problems yet claiming victimhood. Her permanent victim status is now...permanent. RIP.

Agree - but also need to post a bio and pic (old and in prime). This should be a thread rule imo or at least a best practice.

RIP

Agreed as well. Adding pictures to a name for those who are unfamiliar with that person's background needs to be a thread standard.

This was Erin Moran back then:

Her life took a downward spiral as she got older.
Quote:Erin Moran 'Happy Days' Star Dead At 56

Erin Moran who famously played Joanie Cunningham on "Happy Days" and its spinoff "Joanie Loves Chachi" has died ... TMZ has learned.

We're told authorities in Indiana got a call just after 4 PM ET Saturday from someone reporting an "unresponsive female." EMT's arrived and found Erin Moran's body ... she was already dead.

Moran shot to spotlight in the early 70s when she was cast on "Happy Days" as Joanie, the younger sister of Ron Howard's character. She continued the role in 1982 alongside Scott Baio in "Joanie Loves Chachi" but the show only lasted one season.

Erin had a tough time after her "Happy Days" stardom ... a combination of drinking and bizarre behavior that eventually landed her in a trailer park in Indiana. She had run out of money and was reportedly kicked out of the mobile home she shared with husband Steve Fleischmann.

Through her career, Moran also landed roles on "Murder, She Wrote," "Desperation Boulevard," and "Celebrity Fit Club."

An autopsy is pending.

She was 56.

RE: RIP: Erin Moran

I vividly remember this episode. Of course, Fonzie comes to the rescue telling her that smoking isn't cool.

Acting is a tough business, and she isn't the only actor who basically disappeared after that show.

I know a few former child actors. They are forced to grow up faster than is natural. They also take a lot of praise and criticism from strangers before they realize that praise and criticism is often more about the person who says it than about them. This is what messes them up.

I also know former child actors who had trouble getting roles even though they didn't engage in any bad behavior. They just weren't getting hired because that is just the nature of the business. For every actor who has a job, there are 50 actors who want that job.

It also doesn't help that she was part of a series that people now basically ridicule. The slang term "jumping the shark" comes from Happy Days:

Happy Days jumped the shark a whole lot. The show proves the adage of "don't fix it if it isn't broken." They "fixed" it all the time.

I can picture how it must have played out in court.

When WE came to Twin Peaks for Project Bluebook, the White Lodge spirits recognised his heart was pure and tried to possess WE to find out about the Black Lodge. To stop WL spirits from entering his body he used Haliperidol. It appeared the Haliperidol was causing insanity, but the Haliperidol was allowing his natural evil and insanity to express itself.

RIP. they need to make a conservative hollywood that takes the actors that don't make it in hollywood. They use a streaming distribution like netflix, youtube and more and lower budgets at first to establish themselves.

She started out as a child actress - sucking too much dick, getting used to drugs from an early age does not end well with many women.

Ron Howard did fine, but women usually cope far worse than men.

Interestingly, Erin Moran's brother Tony (pictured on right with director John Carpenter) briefly played psychopathic Michael Myers in an unmasking scene toward the end of 1978's "Halloween." The rest of the film Myers was portrayed by Carpenter's buddy Nick Castle (pictured on left), who later became a director himself ("The Last Starfighter," "Major Payne").

She tried to break out early. Here she is in "Galaxy of Terror" (1981)
