It's mainly because of the eyes, when the lion pic is small eyes look just like Melania's perpetually squinted ones. The hair and maybe something else adds to this effect.

And it seems that DJT is actually using some of the prescribed gestures which are very rare to see these days, for example his typical "making a ring with thumb and forefinger" gesture. Either he studies Cicero, he's spent lots of time with old-school Italians there in New York, or he's some kind of natural throwback.

I wonder if Trump uses hand gestures with consistent meaning, the way the Roman system does? The picture in the OP looks like it, but I would have guessed that Trump mixes up his use of various gestures for various types of emphasis.
