I don't think he understands what socialism is. He says socialism because he thinks of national-socialism of Hitler. He expands in saying, nothing wrong with taking care of people, and there isn't, but it only works if you have sympathy for those you live with.

Here's a tactic: advance as a line 8 deep, biggest/strongest on the front line. Their job is not to fight, but to grab isolated antifa attackers and pull them backwards into the waiting pack. The pack then goes to town on the individuals making it impossible for the antifa to fight back and they're taken out of the fight quickly. The front line keeps grabbing and dragging antifa into the phalanx to be worked over. Keep moving forward as maintaining momentum is key. Cue antifa rout and some real damage done.

It's not just about money. Socialism in any respect gives the government a huge lever of control over your life.

Why the hell would anyone trust the government to decide who can get health care and when? This is the same government that just targeted conservative groups by aiming the IRS at them.

Why the hell would anyone trust the government to manage health care competently even if it wasn't inclined to act maliciously? This is the same government that can't even provide decent health care to the military and disabled veterans, which is like 1% the size of the US population at large.

The health care system is fucked because of government interference, regulations, crony protectionism, etc. It's insane to demand the government take even more control. It's mind boggling how people forget that the inequitable market was created by the government, then act as if it's the fault of the "free market" and turn to shit like socialism.

Everything the government does, even with good intentions, has far reaching, unconsidered consequences that fuck over normal people left and right. There's virtually no sphere where I want the government to get involved even further unless it's to roll back their idiotic market distorting laws that allow the corrupt entrenched private companies to kill innovation and block newcomers from entering the market.
