That is a typical European pedestrian (and emergency/work-related vehicles) only area for shopping. Its pretty much a bowling alley for a truck.

Also, I see a dead dog amidst the splattered remains dragged along the area.

Well they've had the template for this type of attack since Nice. There's no cost effective way to protect all major pedestrian thoroughfares in the West; bollards are too expensive and heavy trucks too available.

Planning is simple and able to be done away from the channels that intelligence agencies could easily intercept. All you need is motivation, a knife and a heavy vehicle to hijack. You could be making human speedbumps before the theft is reported to police.

Long story short; we can expect many more attacks like this for the foreseeable future.

As someone (Molyneaux?) pointed out yesterday in reference to the Syria "gas attack", notice that they are always careful not to show the bodies of terror attack victims but will plaster dead children "killed by Assad" all over the news and social media.

As long as governments continue their suicidal kowtowing before Islamists, this will continue to happen. So deep is their self-loathing that most governments/people will actually blame themselves for not being tolerant ENOUGH.
