I stopped drinking soda and other sugary beverages five years ago. Look at the caloric content on some of these soft drinks. One is better off drinking a beer.

Got to give Coke credit for brilliant ad campaign, where they reaped benefits without spending any cash for years after with this song.

Commercial was so popular that it was released as a single without reference to Coca Cola and reached number 7 in pop charts in U.S. and Australia, though of course most people had heard the song first a a commercial, so you are still hearing the word Coke in your head every time you heard the song.

The most toxic product they push, by a wide margin, is aspartame-laced Diet Coke. Aspartame is one of the most widely spread toxic products of the food industry, brought to you by Donald Rumsfeld and Monsanto.

There were several versions of this commercial. The original aired in 1971. There was also a remake that they would air during the Christmas season until the early 1980's.

I absolutely, positively hated this song. It was unbelievably saccharine. I wanted to vomit whenever the commercial came on because it's annoyingly fake sweetness.

If it's any consolation, Pepsi actually was ahead of Coke in sales for a while in the early 1980's. It wasn't until the Coke war in 1985 (new Coke vs. Coca-cola Classic) that Coke became the #1 drink again. Go here:

< Actually you can do a relatively healthy version of coca cola and it certainly was once. You can even replace white sugar with honey, stevia or organic brown sugar.

Most of the toxicity is derived now from added ingredients, even water quality - and of course any artificial sweeteners like Aspartame are pure poison. But there is something more deadly now - Sucralose - which beats the toxicity of Aspartame by a notch - so that your cancer will get cancer.

Yes, at least in recognising them as people under the law. Although they are recognising as a person, they do not have the same wants and needs as people do. They have all our strengths, but none of our weaknesses.

Whereas a human being may have a conscience and have an idea about "the greater good" or the legacy they leave their children, that tempers their megalomaniacal vision somewhat, a corporation cares for none of these. They have but one goal, and that is extracting money.

Corporations should have a personal liability clause for the owners, the board of directors and top management. That way when your company does something unethical and you either agree to it or are grossly negligent - then you are liable and have to be punished accordingly.

But that will never happen. They created corporations because it gets them out of liability. The robber barons of old were personally accountable - the corporations now - we barely even know who the real owners are.
