That is actually where I met the group of guys who invited me to their table. I started chatting it up with one of the cute girls at their table during the day at Tize when they were sitting behind us. The dudes ended up being real cool and apparently they had just met these girls the same day and crashed those chicks table and then I tried to do the same, pretty funny.

They did the Tize to Cafe De La Musique hop that night as did we.

Gave ya props on that in my data report too.

It'll be difficult planning a 3-4 day trip to BH again as I have multiple options of chicks or guy friends who have hookups on other chicks to hang out with not to mention I'd like to venue explore alone too.

Salvador in June is miserable and gray. Constant rain and humidity every day.

Recife may be somewhat rainy. Fortaleza is probably mostly sunny, if I recall correctly.

Porto Alegre is wintery. Rio will be mostly cloudy with the occasional day where you could hit the beach.

If you happen to be based in Recife or Fortaleza, you can also check out the festas juninas during the second half of June.

The first phase of World Cup ticket sales is not for the faint of heart. You can buy tickets for your team, but you just committed to any possible city with no idea which one it will be.

Right. More you go up north, better is the weather. Sao Luis de Maranhao in July/August is very enjoyable. In Belem, it's full summer season and Mosqueiro beaches are packed every weekend.

Talking about Sao Luis, the city is particularly busy in July because of the Bumba-meu-Boi celebrations - it's really a good period to visit this very nice and very enjoyable city which is totally out of the beaten tracks. BTW the pousada Portas da Amazonia is a wonderful boutique hotel that I strongly recommend - right in the middle of Projeto Reviver (the renovated old center), with many bars, restaurants ect around.

For those who are interested by a bit of eco-tourism in this region, the Lencois Marahense, near Sao Luis, are really worth the side trip. It is a kind of mini Sahara with azure blue water pockets separated by white sand dunes stretching about 150 km along the coast and about 60 km inland. A magic landscape, totally unexpected.

Looks like we'll probably aim for Cuaiba, and for an all-venue ticket (so all 4 games that will be there). We may not get lucky in terms of our teams not playing there, but the games in each city are all spaced a few days apart, so a side trip to see one of our teams (if we can get tickets) would be possible.

I imagine all the cities, even those not hosting games, will have big screens set up in the parks for the public to watch. Should be a good way to meet some locals.

Chalezinho is good.

Good crowd, different types of music, busy from 9 pm all the way through the night (starts to die out around 4 am, plenty of time).

Girls are in a great mood, give lots of eye contact, and are very good looking.

From my experiences, these girls will require verbal game. Caveman game is ineffective for the most part, even though the girls don't really get approached by someone they don't know and they stand around dancing on their own for long periods of time.

My strong point for night game is dance floor game, which I am successful with in North America. I like to grab/stick my hand out to girls, spin them, pull them in close and grind, do dips and lifts and varied spins, and then makeout.

Here, the most I could do was have a girl grab my hand and spin for me a couple times.

I'm not sure if that is due to culture or the venue. My friends told me here you have to smooth talk the girls and if they like you you can escalate hard. My game has been escalate hard and by doing that I find out if they like me, hence why I had a rough time.

It's just different from what I am used to. Adapting is a necessary to developing your game.

Besides my shortcomings, I did mention the great moods. Everyone dances all night, laughs, smiles. The girls you do end up talking to tend to be fun.

Cuiaba is IMO your best bet for the World Cup period. Many good looking girls (IMO much more than in Rio) -most from euro descent or Pocahonta-alike, good nightlife, out of the beaten tracks. Plenty of side trips to do in the region (visit the Pantanal, Bonito, or the Chapada Guimaraes). If you have time after your stay, push West to Porto Velho, a small but enjoyable city on the shore of the Rio Madeira, or go to Goiania (another city with a good ratio of truly attractive girls) which isn't far.

Edit: that said, Cuiaba is a rather soulless city, unexotic, clean and organized (as Goiania and Belo Horizonte for that matter), which gives a feeling of "emptiness", and with no enjoyable bairros to stroll around like Ipanema in Rio or Jardins in SP.

This more or less mirrors what a friend of mine who lives in Cuiaba said about the place except he added that it is hot, ugly, and dangerous. The only thing that appeals to be about Cuiaba is using it as a jump off point for Pantanal.

For my sake the attractiveness and bangability of local girls is only a small part of the total package when traveling which is why I'd rather spend 2-3x for two weeks in Rio and hook up with 1-2 girls vs 4-6 in a place like Cuiaba / Goiana / Natal / Manaus, etc.

That said I think you might be on to something recommending it for the Cup. While I think Rio will be an absolute cluster fuck for the WC (the only way I go there is if I can score finals tickets through the lotto system), I think the added international flavor and overall festive atmosphere will turn these otherwise dull cities into lively place for a few weeks.

Agreed. Chalezinho is tough for dance floor game even with great moves because it's such a big scattered floor with everybody just paying attention to their friends or the band up front.

Perhaps it's easier on a Friday night where it's mainly House DJs instead of a live band? Never went as they had a private party the Friday I was there this past June.

In a sense lot of bitch shields or many turndowns, but it doesn't mean you can't communicate with the gals later. Strong verbal game and even communication with a lot of guys will create interest as they will introduce you to their other guy/female friends that same night.

Bringing cigarettes while going to the outdoor smoking section where many people are is a big key too. Saturday is probably my preferred night there with the live Samba variety.

Providing some good insight on Cuiaba. I will however have to disagree with BH not being charming with regards to neighborhoods. Many also on this forum have also complained about not knowing "where to find the chicks" daygame wise or things to do before night time drinking here too.

1) Santo Agostinho/Lourdes - Very charming neighborhoods with Diamond Mall as the more intimate selection (many single young professional females) opposed to Patio Savassi Mall, which is primarily teens/families. Other than Tize or Cafe de La Musique, there's not much going on there as it's predominantly residential though with lot of scattered restaurants. Still solid daygame chances with the super markets, restaurants, and Diamond Mall.

2) Mangaberias - Right next to the scenic Praca do Papa giving people best views of the city. Also next to Serra do Curral as this is not just good for daygaming but a very provocative neighborhood to walk around. Great cafes, cafeterias with locals, etc etc.

3) Santa Tereza or Pampulha - Two diff neighborhoods in opposite directions, but I've heard there is a bit of residential charm for locals as I never got the chance to visit them.

Back to the Female Gaming Aspects Here Again
There's only about a fraction over 2 mil ppl in BH, but it is the third largest Metro area in Brazil after Sampa & Rio as finding walkable places to game other talent in the car crazy suburbs is the biggest challenge here.

Lot of those gals who go to NaSala or Chalezinho discos are suburbanites living with their parents opposed to the in city talent. That's why it's hard to close them when you're staying near Savassi, Lourdes, Funcionarios, and St. Agostinho north of the main clubbing area being St. Lucia as those females can take a cheaper shared cab back to the rents place with better proximity. Lot of suburbanites living south of BH near the clubbing scene however are very open about going into the city for dinner & drinks so setting up those dates after meeting at a club is your best bet of pulling here.

If you know zero Portuguese and your Spanish is just OK what cities should be ruled out in Brazil? I am planning a few months to explore. I have already been to Rio but only for 10 days. For me, it is mostly but not all about the girls. I am all for going to the places less traveled.

I haven't been to Sao Paulo, but that sounds like the place to be for English speakers especially on the west side of town like Vila Madalena, Jardins, Itaim Bibi, Morumbi, etc based on intel from this forum. Ton of cosmopolitan career oriented or party type gold digger chicks that are hot & speak English.

I will most definitely make it out there once time permits.

Dude, if you're going to be in Brazil for a few months, seriously, take some time to learn Portuguese. It will go a long way, and if you have working knowledge of Spanish, it'll be all the more easier.

Culture, travel, girls, whatever it is that you intend to focus on here, it's so much easier with knowing the basics of the language and you'll enjoy it more, especially if you're planning to be here for a while and take the less beaten path as you indicate...

Champ and Prosal, thanks very much for the advice. I think we'll give it a go and try to get venue tickets for Cuiaba. There are 32 teams in the first round, so with 4 matches in Cuiaba, that's 8 different teams (presumably the same teams don't play in the same city?) = a 25% chance of seeing a specific team there. Not bad odds.

Yep, that's one way to do it.

Another option is Recife-Natal-Fortaleza as a base. The distances are short enough that you can bus between the three cities.

For people who want to follow a national team, it gets complicated and expensive. A team in the group stage plays their matches in three different cities. So you most likely have to book flights to get around, plus separate accommodation in each city.

I'll be in BH next week for 2 nights (or more, depending on what I see).

From what I gathered in this thread:
- Savassi is the bohemian neighbourhood, similar to Vila Madalena/Pinheiros in São Paulo. A good location, but disposable as headquarters as the rates are high and the benefits not great.
- Chalézinho is a good night spot.
- Rua Sergipe has good botecos.
- Social circle game is golden, specially if time is limited.

Am I in the right direction?

Are you going to be in Belo Horizonte on weekdays or weekend days?

Weekday daygame suggestion

11:30 AM - 1:30 PM - Diamond Shopping Mall. Santo Agostinho. Lots of hotties and young professionals eating at food court there.

Perhaps Mangabeiras - Avenida dos Bandeirantes near Praça do Papa. Lots of cafes, etc there. Lots of hot bitches and groups socializing daytime.

Weekend daygame suggestion

Mangabeiras - Once again Avenida dos Bandeirantes. It will be hopping Saturday/Sunday.

Tize - Day drinking apparently gets kicking around 5PM and beyond. This is in Lourdes, which is near Savassi. Never been but RVF member Qwest highly recommended it.

Nightlife

Tize in Lourdes/Funcionarios near Savassi - see above

Cafe de la Musique - Go early. Perhaps a good Thursday/Friday hangout.

Rest of Savassi with the botecos, etc are not conducive towards cold approaching as there are only tables for friends to chat amongst themselves, eat finger foods, and drink. I would say the "bar scene" in BH is quite overhyped though I still love city's overall vibe. It's not really "bohemian" in my opinion, but just a nice pleasant neighborhood that serves as a good meeting point for friends living all over Belo Horizonte. Haven't been to Sampa yet, but I'm sure Vila Madalena would be more charming than Savassi overall.

Nightlife south of Belo Horizonte

The two biggest clubs in BH are actually in south of the city away from Savassi, etc. A taxi from say Savassi to either Chalézinho or Nasala will cost you around 26 Reais there and 26 Reais back home. It's not worth staying near both places because it's mainly families with money & hard to walk anywhere as you will need a car to go from point A to point B (supermercado, farmacia, etc etc). It's possibly but getting a chick to go home with you to Lourdes/Savassi while she has easier access to her parents house is quite a challenge.

That's why I hope you have a good social circle there, haha. 2 nights might not be enough. Your best bet would be talking to as many as people trying to make new friends gal or guy. Mineiras can be conservative and hard to pull for a ONS in such a short stay so developing social circles will give you great pipelining for future visits & invites to private parties, etc.

Chalézinho - Like NaSala, I can't stress the importance of checking the website to see when they are having festas privadas (private parties).

Typically,
Friday - House DJs
Saturday - Samba Variety Band
Sunday - Sertanejo (Good crowd too, cheaper prices, more local feel)

Check facebook page/website for programação to see which nights will have private parties to avoid.

Nasala

Typically open Fridays/Saturdays only. Premier house music spot located in Ponto Lar Shopping? I miscalculated which night had a private party so skipped the place on a Friday when the event was happening on a Saturday, ugh. Facebook and website pages show many hot bitches. Be sure not to go during a private event!

Santa Teresa is the "bohemian" district comparable to Vila Madalena. There is usually always some kind of show or movement going on in the main plaza next to Bolão, which is where people go to get their drunchies on at night.

Another vote for Tizé as well.

If you get lucky they will be doing the "Praia da estação" on a Saturday when you're there. Once a month in the summer they turn on all of the fountains in the praça da estação so that people can splash around as if they had a beach. Ask a local friend if its going on. If they don't know what it is they are lame.

I would maybe try NaSala on Fri night and then Chalezinho on Sat night if those are the two nights in which you will be there. I have some friends in Brazil that have splurged big time around late December/New Year's Eve so their spending might be a little reduced at inland cities without beaches between holidays (NYE and then Carnaval). Hope that doesn't affect nightlife turnout when you're in BH.

I was just in Belo a few months back. Make sure to use Tinder, there are tons of girls on it. The standard seems date 1 make-out date 2 get laid. Chalezinho on Sunday is great. Secreto is good on Thursdays, can be hard to get in if you don't know anyone. Show up early to (11.30pm at the latest) to have the best chance.

I do love BH. The first time I was there I made up with a "mineira" girl in the second day and I came back one month after to have a great time with her. I stayed in her apartment for few days, I was very "well cared" by her.

BH, for me, is one of the best places in Brazil: Nice girls, people are VERY friendly, good food, it is not an expensive city and the bohemian culture is quite amazing.

Also, I'm a fan of Sertanejo, a kind of Brazilian country-side dance/music. I STRONGLY suggest you guys to learn few moves because it will help you a lot in sertanejos. For me, sertanejo > forro. Also, it is a very easy dancing style, you get glued with the girl, can talk things to her and make a brazilian move to finish her off. Also, Roosh probably saw the hotest girls in Chalezinho. But, if you go to any sertanejo house (like Woods, Villamix etc) you will faint. It is unbelievable.

Unfortunately, I haven't been to chalezinho, I thought it was a overrated place, so I went to another ones, like Swingers (didn't like at all) and a rock bar that I forgot the name.

I realized that a lot of gringos are there, probably they heard about the good things of BH, like, there are british, german, austrian guys living there. But I was also a "foreigner" there, the first time I was there was few months ago Anyway, just be prepared to make you moves having brazilian and another gringos working with you.

Chalezinho is a great club. It's a much harder environment though. Strong social circles thrive and the attractive girls are more likely to hook up with a stranger if there is some strong incentive ($$). The guys getting the girls here were spending serious dough on the girls.

Swingers is a much easier club to work your game. Girls will eye fuck you and possibly approach you as the night goes on. Regardless, they are much, much more receptive to your approaches. You will get less quality here than at Chale, but the chances of you actually getting something will be higher.

Also, check a club/party place called Porcao. I had a really fun night there when there was an open bar party.

If you only have two nights, definitely check out Chale, it's a great experience, much better than most club nights I've had here in NA. It's probably the best club in the city, even the city teams footballers and celebrities hit it up.

Check out swingers if you get a chance. Only if there is some event though, then you are guaranteed a good night.

Also, be ready to enjoy Sertanejo! It's my favourite type of music after hitting up these places last summer, although I can't dance to it nearly as well as I should, despite being from the city myself.

There's been a change of plans and I'm only staying for one night, but I'll be back soon.

Sidenotes:
- Girls from Minas are amazing.
- Ouro Preto is absolutely great, if you have the chance, go. Thousands of tourists and students, beautiful city and landscape.
- Tomorrow I'm going to Diamantina, where I'll stay for a few weeks. It's off the beaten track and similar to Ouro Preto. Very excited. I'll write about it as soon as I get some knowledge.
