I'm inclined to agree with Mufasa on questioning the legimitacy of this post, but I'll go ahead and offer this up:

Generally, it's unwise to pass up a "sure thing" for a long shot. Usually what happens is you'll end up with nothing but your dick in your hand by the end of the night. Roosh had a great thought on this subject in his "The 9 Immutable Laws of Pickup" post:

One particular situation comes to mind where I met up with a friend at the bar, he's sitting next to a cute half mexican chick and her landwhale friend. He scoots over and I sit with them, next to the cute one. We chat for awhile, eventually we go to "take a walk" where we started making out up against the building. I don't know if the OP was trolling or not, but I was in this exact situation with my wife. I had already met her and got her number, so I told her to go see this show, not knowing whether she would come or not. A few days later, I forgot about it and brought a HB7 to the same show. The date was actually going really well and the 7 was all over me on the dance floor, when I saw my eventual wife show up at the entrance looking at me and smiling. I tended bar for a few years so I got pretty good at reading the crowd- who's on a first date, who is bored, etc. I have gotten real ballsy on a couple of occasions when drunk.

My MO? I would approach the girl when the guy went to the bathroom or I would time my approach to the bathroom to match hers.

I would tell them to hurry and put their number into my phone or I would take their phone out of their hand and put my number in it. I then tell them to text me later when he drops them off.

I have had girls ignore me. I have had girls make disgusted faces at me. The most frequent response was to laugh and smile and say that they can't. But I have had a number of times where I see the evil grin on their face and they do it.

Have gotten two bangs from this method over the years. Girls love to be sneaky. The hard part was not cockblocking myself by drinking too much and passing out when I got home. I missed out on a few lays because of that.

Maybe some will disagree with me but that's an asshole move. If you want to slyly go grab a number and set something up for another night cool but I hate flakes be it guys or girls.
