Last two LTRs have not had fathers in their lives. Given them benefit of the doubt as I also grew up without my father. I think it shows up on a very basic level where they just don't know how to properly speak to a man.

However, I'm growing tired of granting said benefit. I've had enough positive male role models in my life to fill in that void.

They are well-suited as plates, but that's about it.

The other type that doesn't get much attention are he girls with weird relationships with their parents - an LTR from a few years back actually told her parents about the VERY FIRST date we went on. I needed this forum in my life back then.

The relationship your parents share becomes your archetype for how romantic relationships and families are supposed to work as you develop through adolescence. If you are brought up in a poor/broken family unit then this can negatively impact your abilities to for healthy bonds and relationships with the opposite sex as you reach maturity.

A father is the first man a woman ever loves in her life. Her father grows to be the representation of what a male figure is to her. A poor relationship with her father will generally cause her to have a poor relationship with men in general, especially romantically. Weak fathers, abusive fathers, absent fathers. All of these scenarios can manifest themselves into a myriad of different social and behavioral issues for a girl as she grows into adulthood.

Keep in mind, these same issues apply to men as well.
