I've found that over the past decade or so a lot of people I know have lost their sense of humor, at least in my eyes. People that used to be fun to riff with, clever and witty and fun, they've just lost their sparkle. Part of it is ageing, I'm not in my mid 30s. But I think there's more. Look at comedy in the mainstream media (TV, movies, standup). It's just nowhere near as funny as it used to be. My favorite shows like The Simpsons and South Park peaked a long time ago (10-15 years?), SNL hasn't been funny in maybe 10 years. New sitcoms are all the same, unfunny leftist bullshit. Same with the top standups like Amy Schumer and Aziz Ansari. Not funny, they are there to spout propaganda.

Some reasons for this general trend, off the top of my head:

1) Millennials came of age. And Millennials aren't funny--they think they're funny because they've been told they can be anything they want. So the ones who wanted to be funny just assumed they were. No one calls them out because no one wants to look like a hater. This ties into...
2) Political correctness. We only find things funny when they are PC, hence you get female Ghostbusters thinking they're funny.
3) Society-wide Generalized Anxiety. People feel that deep sense of social decay, and they're anxious about it. Too on guard to really enjoy humor. Instead they'd rather watch beta males bitching about alphas like Trump (ie what passes for comedy today).
