I am looking to go traveling later on in 2017 for 3 months. Any recommendations for travel essentials, tips, apps, medications etc.

1. Travel pillow.
2. headphones.
3. smart phone.
4. Power Bank.

Try to get a inflatable travel pillow, those save a lot of space instead of lugging around one of those big ones. For headphones try to find a pair that are foldable and don't take space and fit in your pocket.

You'll want a towel for personal use and a electric razor with some basic over the counter pills like tylenol.

it's a folding backpack, good for needed extra space if your traveling for long periods of time, you can get a duffel bag like that too. Get a map app that works online and download maps ahead of time to save yourself some issues when you first arrive and don't have a sim card or if your jumping around to different countries.

I like to travel light, so just pack the basics: clothes, 2 towels, toiletries, phone, condoms. If I need something else I just buy it.

Make sure all your stuff fits in your bag comfortably and easy to reach. It sucks to close a bag that is too full and it sucks if you need rearrange everything when you need something. It's also good to have some space if you plan on buying some souvenirs.

I prefer a hard cased suitcase with wheels. Its good because you can put a lock on it and the wheels make it easy to transport.

Meds: Aspirin (or whatever you prefer), activated charcoal, moisturizer (your skin will get dry from too much time in planes/hotels), probiotic, water disinfection, bandages, wound antibiotic (powder)
Ear plugs and eye-mask for sleeping
Great pair of shoes (no going cheep here)
Well thought out clothing (really depends on where you are going and what you are doing)
Money belt for the cash reserve
Good sunglasses
Buff headwear or something like it
Condoms
Good backpack (durable material, high quality zips, many compartments)
Ziploc bags for wet/dirty stuff
Paracord, duct tape and super-glue (they come in really small tubes)

I love those small quick dry travel towels, get a bigger one that is actually a bit comfy and you can use it whenever you go to the beach, swimming at a hostel exc.

Takes up no space.

A few other things :
-Something to wash your clothes. I bought the Scrubba Wash Bag, it works well. It's convenient to be able to wash your clothes by yourself when you're in a country where you don't speak much of the language.
-Medications : I bring some Tylenol some Polysporin (antibiotic ointment in case I get cut), and some Pepto-Bismol (I bring the pills you can chew, it's useful because your stomach might not be used to the food where you're going).
-Make sure to have a "survival kit" in your carry-on (all you would need to survive 1-2 days if your luggage get lost). I always have the following in my carry-on : a toothbrush, some toothpaste, a deodorant, extra socks/underwear/t-shirt
-Google translate and Google maps have offline mode : you can download whatever you need and access it offline

That's a pretty exhaustive list, you don't need half of that stuff; especially the jewellry. I'd also try to get electronics that are as a light as possible and use multi-purpose ones. Having a super light laptop like a microsoft surface is really useful, I used to carry a monster weighing 7-8lbs.

I've got one, they suck at absorbing water. Going to get a linen travel towel next, which also has the advantage of being anti-microbial (it won't start to smell so easily).

Bedsheet and laundry bag. I have found them invaluable.

Bedsheet - Because if you have a girl that bleeds on your sheets you will need a spare for the next girl that comes over. Also the place you're renting might have nasty sheets to begin with.

Laundry bag - Because you want to conceal the bloody mess on your way to the laundry.

These are lightweight and don't take up much space.

In my job I actually sell bedding ..."our company slogan is get you into bed' always gets a laugh from the girls.

Also I take extra pillowcases and for beach destinations I bring my own beach towels that I usually don't bring back with me.

I use to forget everything. So I have an Excel spreadsheet that I check before I leave. This to remind me stupid stuff like my phone charger, pen for the airport, earplugs

Another section is for medications. This is very important. In addition to what was mentioned before, a pill in case of bad reaction because of food (shock). + 1 for diarrhea, flu and pain.

Other ideas are sun blocker, eye drops and OIL for MASSAGE... which is handy when you say you are "therapist"...

As for the sim card, I always buy it at the airports, so I can make sure it works properly.

Just do one according to your needs.

1) Multitool ( Leatherman) obviously goes in luggage
2) Small pair Vise-Grips
3) very small screwdrivers and Torx drivers like for eyeglasses and watch batteries
4) Any hard to get medications you need. I occasionally need a prescription pain reliever and some countries have very strict prescribing prohibitions.
