Mike Cernovich documented a positive trip he had with 5-MeO-DMT :

Actually, no, I smoked it off foil. It's just that it was thoroughly unpleasant. Let me elaborate - it was highly disturbing. I was convinced that my time was over. It did not feel like being high, like tripping. It was not colorful and hilarious, like LSD. It was like somebody was crushing me.

However, after the trip subsided (lasted not much longer than 10 minutes, in total), I felt a wave of euphoria. A warm rush. I guess I was elated to come back to planet earth. To be alive. That it was over.

I read a lot about the experiences people have had with it. Seems like some have had horror stories, like me, while others experienced euphoria. And yet others have managed to somehow sit on the diving line between the horror and the euphoria and maybe experience both simultaneously. Either way, I think that more conventional hallucinogens (acid or shrooms) are more rewarding and less dangerous.

I haven't even heard about the dangers of consuming it orally that you're describing. I'll read about it a bit. Sounds like another reason to avoid it.

That said, with the popularity of ayahuasca, maybe a shaman-guided experience is not so dangerous and even quite worthwhile.

Ayahuasca is regular DMT combined with an MAOI and is a different chemical than this 5MEO. After reading that thread I'd think twice before trying this stuff either. MAOIs are generally only taken to make a compound orally active. For example if you eat regular DMT you won't trip at all, or at least very little. From what I recall they don't affect other routes of ingestion beyond the intoxicating and maybe somewhat synergistic effects of MAOIs like harmine.

Its appears many "successful" men do take 5-MeO-DMT - eg. Tim Ferris, Joe Rogan, and apparently quite a few of the top entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley.

Burning Man is a rite of passage for loads of the "new rich" as Ferris would call them. They don't go there to drink Zima, that's for sure.
