Kawasaki is like Donald Trump, in fact theyve partnered many times. Most of his books are ghost written and yes, he got rich through marriage and has had every business he started go bad. But Im a HUGE fan of Rich Dad Poor Dad. The book literally pulled me out of the rat race. Dont let the man ruin the message. If you want to know more just read all the Amazon quotes rating his book. But please leave those discussions at another forum not here.

@Gringoed - I would love to see your thread on real estate.

I commented already on what I would tell my 18 yr old self, but I would add to my comment "find out how to make $ online." learn web programing, design, marketing, and stay away from stock market hype. Dont be stupid and major in marketing, learn it in your spare time and figure out how to monetize through a website. And start young, take the plunge, start at least one website and keep it afloat as long as you can. Your 30% more likely to have a 2nd success after having a first success so start small and increase your chances.

Just telling someone to own there own business (assume successful right?) at the age of 21 is not very realistic imo

How many successful entrepreneurs under the age of 21 do you know?

Even if someone gets the funds to start their own business, most small business FAIL within the first year or two.

So if you are gonna suggest someone start their own business how about be alittle more specific?

Im sure the OP has heard about and knows about "starting" your own business...........

You are very lucky to be in such forum in a very young age. This forum has life information, so make sure you use it well, you will succeed if you know how to interpret, collect and apply the information that you have here. I still remember when i was 17 and i would go to college advisers and ask them about what course i should do in the future, they would tell me, just do something you like (stupid fucking advisers).

I dont think i have answered the OP original question, i think this thread can be very useful for younger people.

I would tell my younger self to focus more on education and not just business, combine both hardcore (although i graduated, i could do better in terms of education).

I would have chosen a technical route instead of a business one in terms of education (although it wasnt that bad because im currently working in a technical field).

I would travel less to ''popular countries'' and travel more to countries where i actually liked the local women. I think i have wasted too much time travelling around europe, i could be travelling to DR back then, but fuck it, i didnt even know anything about DR.

Find a personal trainer and work hardcore..push myself beyond my limits to work everyday.

But apart from that, i think i have lived a great fucking life so far.

Listen up, anyone who is 18: what I would do is lower my standards!!

When you're 18-22 it's sort of a free-for-all if you're in college. Most people aren't quite paired up yet. Plus you still have access to high school girls.

I didn't realize it at the time but back then I was endlessly meeting women. This would not be the norm for my life. But what I wanted (and what I got) was a high-quality "status babe" -- an upper middle class "nice girl" who I could sort of show off. So I spent the majority of my college years with just one woman (I messed around and dated during periods when we were split up temporarily, but it wasn't what it could have been).

Where I went wrong was passing up women who practically threw themselves at me for petty reasons. I didn't understand that while snaring a high-status girlfriend would be relatively easy as an adult, I would NEVER ever be as knee-deep in teenage snatch as I was in college.

So I missed opportunities with girls because I thought they were too artsy and weird, too low-class, too ditsy, not pretty enough, or too tall (a pair of roommates who were both into me -- don't ask). I even passed up women for reasons of ethnicity and race and being smokers, sad to say. At the time, I thought I was a free-thinking rebellious kid but in retrospect I was a lot like my snobby parents. I just didn't realize it.

After college, you're never going to be able to step out of your dorm room and get instant access to a wide variety of women. It's in your best interest to capitalize on this. There will be time enough for the wife material afterwards. Someone should have told me this. Actually, people did tell me this, but I was too into getting sex from the girl who would eventually dump me and split for California. I wonder now if I'd dumped her and sewn my wild oats if things would have ended up different.

I'm 17 right now, I'm just trying to make sure when I look back at this time, I don't have regrets. I'm just trying to find that balance between school, partying and gaming. It's worked out so far and there's some good advice on here to follow.
