i was browsing some stuff online and was checking a sometimes strong diiference in prices for the same goods in different trade regions (for example the EU and USA or Argentina and Paraguay) and thought that if it could be implemented another great idea of providing service or networking within the RVF community would be to set up a small courier ring.
Say Joe Smith in the US is doing a small game vacation in italy on september,john doe who may be in italy or in a nearby country could arrange for joe to bring something that is harder/more expensive to get state side and in turn arrange either a compensation in cash or in naother good joe could want and vice versa.
Furthermore even if a physical contact was not to happen it would still be cheaper for joe to mail the goods by mail from within the trade region of the eu toavoid custom issues.

this is just a random idea and of course there are a lot of issues about confidentiality and/or legalities i m most likely ignoring but im welcome to being explained down

I remember a similar idea floating about in this forum a little while ago, but it didn't garner enough interest to really gain traction... so the thread died quickly.

Is there a way Paypal or other payment services can be used to make a payment that is concrete when the order is confirmed?
That way we would keep it in the community wi though having to resort to a platform middle man/company

I'm part of another forum that specializes in a certain skillset. Some members are sellers of certain services (think website design, etc), and they have to be approved by the Admin of the forum in order to be allowed to sell their services. Anyways, long story short, when someone purchases from them, they can leave a rating (Positive, neutral, or Negative) via a reputation system called "iTrader". It's very similar to the rep system here, but exclusively used for the sales. People can evaluate the trustworthiness of any seller by their rating, similar to eBay. If there is a dispute between members, the customer lets the Moderators know and they mediate. Of course, some people have scammed before, but their account is quickly banned once the scam is discovered.

Anyways, that's a long way of saying that a new "reputation" system used exclusively for the courier system could be useful. We could of course just use rep, but I think that it would be confusing to identify those who were good posters and those who just make money.

Actually that sounds rather fitting.
Alternatively, if it couldn't be implemented, a thread could be set up with a rating of members that could be updated regularly?
I'm quite excited about the idea I must admit
