Avistor, I'm the one who first posted that Ultra bar pic on this forum. It was taken in December 2010. There are plenty of photos I could have used at that time to illustrate how bad the ratio is but I chose that one because it was the most recent. If you look back in the archives you can see I posted it the day after Christmas.

The sausagefest that is DC has nothing to do with the weather or holidays as you can see from the pictures I posted in this thread.

I don't disagree that the ratio is bad, my point is that it gets this extreme only on holidays like Christmas (3:1), whereas most nights it trends around 1.5, which is still bad just not as high. But 1.5 still sucks, no question about it. Most people start perceiving a sausage fest when the ratio hits 1.5.

Lima usually tends to have a decent ratio though until very late. I don't think girls particularly dislike techno, especially since house music is associated with a more upscale crowd.

Things vary week to week though, I'm sure you can hit gold once in awhile, just make sure you're ready to take advantage.

Any photo taken after 1:00 am in DC is a wash. Ratios are only decent until 12:00 usually. If I don't have solid leads by then, I'm usually finished for the night.

OK guys, you've asked for pics... and you got 'em!

A detailed analysis shows that Ultrabar's normal ratio (during regular school/work season) seems to hover around 1.4 : 1. This number is actually a pretty lousy ratio for men, it's considerably competitive... just not as competitive as 3:1, which occurs during holidays. What many people don't know is that 1.4:1 is a very real sausage fest, even though it doesn't sound too bad.

For comparison, this is what Ultrabar can and did look like in 2007, the "golden era" when it was filled with girls. This is the time when I was getting phone numbers left and right without even trying.

Incidentally, the ratio of 1.4-1.5 is pretty standard in all of DC's clubs right now. If you do an analysis of Ozio, Josephine, Eden, etc. it's exactly the same.

Here's a barometer of how to read sex ratios, for a single guy.

0.8 = girls literally GRAB you themselves (or your phone), you just sit back and enjoy the show.
0.9
1.0 = eye contact can occur. relatively easy.
1.1 = eye contact can occur. doable.
1.2 = getting kinda tough, no eye contact anymore - that's out. You can still approach, but it's competitive.
1.3 = VERY competitive. Forget eye contact, you'll be getting rejected now.
1.4
1.5 = Sausage Fest officially begins. This is the point at which most guys feel a sausage fest starting.
1.6
1.7 = Extremely difficult, get out.
Anything Above 1.8: INSANE (but also, it rarely happens)

The first picture is the best. I wouldn't mind being there that night.

Second picture.. mostly Asian girls. No thanks.

Third picture... the 1.4 number seems reasonable, but I don't see much talent.

Last picture. Great ratio. Every once in a while I get a ratio like that in a DC bar, then I go the next week and it's sausage. I found good ratios to be a matter of luck and not consistent.

The problem with DC is that even if you get a 1:1 ratio, half of the girls are beasts. It's better than 3:1, but it's a losing proposition unless those girls are pretty. Girls in the first pic seem pretty, I'm guessing it was a college night.

What percentage of the time you go out are you getting ratios like in the first picture?

Very rarely, maybe once or twice a year. Most girls at Ultrabar are Latina/Asian. To Asian girls' credit, they do dress sexy, but of course it's impossible to get anywhere with them because they're conservative and shy. Latinas as we've discussed are irrelevant and I don't even look at them.

For the record, no club in DC in recent years has had a below-1 ratio (not a single one), and even parity (1:1) is currently rare, only at places like Sign of the Whale where large groups go to celebrate Bachelorette parties. Essentially a 1:1 ratio only happens when large numbers of women, including married/off-the-market women, attend special events. It's not because there's a 1:1 singles ratio.

I have found experimentally that things improve during the months of January, February, and early March (first week of March). Local clubs tend to have more talent and greater amount of it, than at other times.

Edit: Roosh, can you also post some club pics from other locales, so we can compare and contrast? I liked that Vitoria, Brazil photo, that looks something like what was happening here in DC in 2006. I'm gathering that photo is old as well. Any others?

You should do some of the bars and maybe restaurants too, like afterwork happy hours and upscale restaurants. I just don't think that the city's club/lounges are good places to meet women. It's always been that way for the DC area. The populace is conservative and it's mostly minorities in a lot of clubs, euphemistically called the "international crowd".

And yes, it's one of the worst cities around for that aspect. I remember around 2003, you couldn't find any white people at area nightclubs, except the odd group of GW/American students or something.

I find the ratio talk about DC quite funny. It's always about night game. I mostly do day game and meetups but the only time I've done night game this year was in Adams Morgan and I learned my lesson rather quickly.

All the venues sucked except for Grand Central. I couldn't believe my eyes, from 9-11pm the ratio was around 3:1 girls to guys, and the guys there were wallflowers. It was nice and I had a blast. When the clock hit midnight the ratio flipped and it became a sausagefest. They were still cute girls, but they weren't as receptive after 12. I found out that most of the girls who were there early where out of towners from JMU and other parts of VA and MD spending the weekend in DC. Lesson learned, if I want the best ratios and most receptive women, I should show up around 9. Any time after 12 and I should expect a sausagefest.

I haven't bothered with night game since then since I love day game and know a spot in Chinatown that has a ridiculous ratio of 10+ girls to guys for day game. It's my paradise so I'll stick to that.

Jof: I like day game, obviously, but I'm still a young man so I like to drink at night in a place that has beautiful women. I don't think that's too much to ask. I shouldn't be in a city where I hate to go out at night because I'm surrounded by my own gender when I purposefully didn't go to a gay bar.

Especially in a metro area with 5+ million people and several colleges. There should be at least one strip of bars where there's guaranteed to be quality women. Day game is ok but there's nothing like being surrounded by attractive women in a night venue.

I think the reason why most aren't a fan of day game besides the guys who are too scared to do it is that after a while...it can feel like a chore since your walking around always looking for a girl to talk to vs at night where they're just there. Plus add that some day game spots can be far away(50 min drive for me for a decent one) to where it just isn't as fun. Now if i lived closer and was on errands and was doing stuff on my errands, it would be alot easier since it kills two birds with one stone.
