I had to hear shit from my feminist sister. Watch my Dad flip his shit and watch him defend the riots(not protests) that followed. He went of his way to study the constitution to figure out how to prevent Trump from becoming president.

I'm actually the only Republican in my family so I received a lot shit during Thanksgiving dinner.

Heard a lot of stuff from liberals at work, especially women.

Some of them think I'm mean to them and judge them.

Interpret that how you will.

Forgot to mention that my sister with liberal leanings took a few personal days off work to mope and read Huffington Post articles on Trump being the new Hitler, etc. It was really rather sad to hear about it. I've encouraged her to go to the gym, and to her credit she is losing some weight she needs to. Modern liberalism is all about victim mentality. If we can build up the individual, there's less room for SJW antics. Hoping she sees the light once Trump starts turning things around.

A couple of my friends are finally starting to unplug
Some siblings have lower opinions of me because they assumed I'd be on their side, they'll come around eventually.

I live in a rural area, mostly pro Trump. I have not ran into much hysterical Hillary stuff.
My workplace is woman owned and dominated, I don't discuss politics there, ever.

If I made the Trip into one of the larger cities I'm sure I'd run into disgruntled students.

RE: How has election result affected your social life?
Funny thing that you guys are mentioning siblings since I had just gotten into a fight with my sister at Christmas dinner over the Trump issue. I had actually ordered a bottle of Trump sparkling wine and after we were mostly done with the food and my dad brought it out asking if anyone wanted some. As soon as my sister saw that bottle with the Trump name on it she started getting triggered, asking why we even had that around the house. I informed her that I had bought it and that's when things started going down. She brought up a bunch of basic bitch anti-Trump points such as him wanting to build a wall and the pussy grabbing tape. My sister is currently at a PhD program in a well-regarded university and this incident and a few others really showed to me that a well-educated woman is ultimately still a woman and that fact ends up affecting the way they see politics and society.

From debating with both men and women that aren't keen on Trump I've noticed thing that separates the women from the men is 1) they tend to take things way personal and get heated up as opposed to dispassionately exchanging facts and 2) they are much more focused on humanitarian/SJW issues such as muh racism and muh sexism. I've seen this sort of behavior across a good portion of women of varying education levels and different ethnicies which makes me think it's something that is more correlated with womanhood then other factors.

One of my cousins told me to my face that she never wants to talk politics with me but she's overall a pleasant person who isn't an SJW. Outside of that a lot of my relatives and friends now respect me for having called Trump's landslide victory early on.

The problem with those totally steeped in the modern education system (even intelligent people) is that they are in a total echo chamber. She's not used to having her liberal viewpoints challenged, which is why she has such a visceral reaction to the bottle of wine, an inanimate object. Her pursuing a doctorate degree doesn't make her immune to this nonsense. In fact, smarter women have less children overall, which is why I'm going to take a wild guess and say she doesn't have any kids, or very few. What good are female smarts if those genes aren't passed on to children? That's the biggest waste of female liberalism of all.

I don't hang out with the same crowd she does but from what I've seen pretty much everyone around her is the standard middle to upper-middle class educated/overeducated mix of a hipster and a yuppie. Literally every single thing she was complaining about during our argument (global warming, Planned Parenthood, sexism, racism) comes from the standard playbook of yuppie liberal concerns. I actually was just thinking the other night that I might literally be the only person she knows that openly voted for Trump hence her over the top reaction to just merely the sight of Trumps name. When my dad brought the wine around the context was simply he wanted to share the wine with everyone, no politics were mentioned.

Also, last month she had sent an email out to my family about police brutality in the black community which included a long quote from one of her "woke" friends on the subject that had little of argument or substance but lots of pathos and rhetoric. This is from someone who previously I had never heard discuss politics before.

It's made me realize I need to find new friends to hang out because they always talk about Trump and Republicans being Hitler despite they can't bring themselves to see Republicans haven't run their communities in fucking decades.

When you're constantly praised for virtue signaling and preen on your high horse, off course everyone else is LITERALLY HITLER! That's where amused mastery comes in to game her and others like her. Acting the MAGA blowhard doesn't win over those types. A few facts here and there about how Trump is already creating jobs is a better approach.

I still hang out with some liberal friends, they provide me with access to social circles and business opportunities. I don't openly discuss my beliefs with the die-hard ones, and only challenge those who actually try to use facts instead of talking points. I don't engage them often, most of the time, it is a waste of time. I strongly suggest that you don't ditch your liberal friends, but certainly find some actual conservatives to make friends with. If shit ever goes down, you want someone who will cover your back. Cowardice is a key part of being a liberal. I suggest making friends with men and the gym and gun range for starters.

Had to play beta like OGNorCal and be Mr. Nice Guy with Trump haters in family. I consistently prevailed with cooler head over several conversations.

Got them from yelling bigot and racist at me for supporting, to just more calmly saying I am in for a rude awakening with Trump with an outburst from them here and there.

I feel you. My sister has been in a funk for a while now, even weeks after the election. This is a woman that is actully fairly mature and organized in other areas of their lives. The problem when you buy into identity politics so deeply is that any loss on the part of "I'm With Her" means losing a part of your own identity.

The great part about being a Trump supporter is that you're part of the largest family of Americans ever assembled. Trump people are just more fun to hang around. Not the mopey crybabies of the Professional Left. Welcome to your new family man, that's what I say.

RE: How has election result affected your social life?
Not exactly my social circle, but while doing the paperwork on a new car the salesman says out of the blue: "Well, I expect business all over is going to pick up after the first of the year, now that Trump is coming in to office."

There was still a bit of that Roman-Christians-drawing-the-icthys feel to it, or like he was testing me to gauge my position, but not as much as before the election - when he probably wouldn't have dared bring it up unprompted with a customer.

There aren't any Hillary voters in my social circle. What there are are several die-hard big-L Libertarians and one hard-line Republican who were flaming neverTrumpers. The former all fluffed themselves constantly over their moral superiority in voting for Johnson and McMuffin, but since the election have gone back almost instantly to their normal behavior. The latter (more an acquaintance) fell off the wagon over it and I haven't heard anything of him since election day. All the others were either silent on the issue (Trump supporters), or mumble-grumbled resentfully about the election and the choices available exactly as they would have with any other candidate (Trump voters).

Most of the other Libertarians and Republicans I know have come out in favor of Trump post-election, especially since the nominations began rolling out. It's like the sun is coming out and everyone's perking up.

RE: How has election result affected your social life?
It hasn't really affected anything at all, but the people that I work with are a lot more wary of mocking me for my political predictions. Of all the people in my professional social circle, I was the only one that was able to correctly predict both Brexit and the election of Trump.

The superior officers on my ship are surprising redpilled, considering it's the Canadian Forces. The XO is actually an open Trump supporter - one of two (the other being myself) in our wardroom. However, most if not all of the junior officers are your standard-issue SJW types (this is Canada, after all.) It's an open secret that I'm a Trump supporter, but I haven't attempted to engage them in any sort of political argument, and they haven't done the same with me. It's a kind of cease-fire agreement - we'll see how long it holds.
