Interesting fact about DeVos..she's the sister of Erik Prince the blackwater founder and former navy seal.

Just from reading about Devos she's all into vouchers and charter schools. This means shifting public funds into private for profit schools over the long haul. Have some mixed feelings about this but it does make sense that privatized schooling will probably end up better run. Public education in the U.S. is a failure for the most part and indoctrination centers for SJW politics.

Unfortunately she supported affirmative action at least ten years ago. Hopefully that'll be curtailed.

Big trend that's being covered up now, #NeverRomney.

I really, really hope that Trump has better picks in mind than Giuliani or Romney. Romney is a classic neo-con warmonger. Rudy is the same but more buffoonish which will inspire unneeded opposition, in my view.

With Mattis looking to be the pick for DoD, Jim Webb is really by far the best option available.

Please message the transition team on Twitter and at the website and let them know that you want neither Giuliani or Romney, and make them aware of Webb.

RE: Who should be in Trump's cabinet?
Breitbart wrote an article about the new Secretary of Education - "Donald Trump Announces Pro-Common Core Betsy DeVos as Education Secretary". Also, the Conservative Review mentioned she's a Common Core supporter as well.

However, according to her website's Q&A page, she made it clear that she is not a supporter of Common Core. Huh???
Quote:Q+A

Q: What are 5 things we might not know about you?

I’m a grandmother! My husband (Dick) and I have four children and five grandchildren.
I was born and raised in Michigan. Born in Holland, MI, I’ve been a lifelong resident of Michigan.
I’m an advocate for children. I’ve been involved with education issues for 28 years. I’ve been on the front lines fighting to make education better for all children.
I’m an activist. I’m a total outsider to elective office and government, but I’m no stranger to the political process. A citizen volunteer, I have served in local, state, and national offices.

I’m an entrepreneur. I have started new and innovative companies that help make our community better.

Q: There’s been a lot of talk about Common Core. Can you provide some straight talk on this topic?

Certainly. I am not a supporter—period.

I do support high standards, strong accountability, and local control. When Governors such as John Engler, Mike Huckabee, and Mike Pence were driving the conversation on voluntary high standards driven by local voices, it all made sense.

Have organizations that I have been a part of supported Common Core? Of course. But that’s not my position. Sometimes it’s not just students who need to do their homework.

However, along the way, it got turned into a federalized boondoggle.

Above all, I believe every child, no matter their zip code or their parents’ jobs, deserves access to a quality education.

Q: What are your thoughts about specific education policies?

I am very excited to get to work and to talk about my thoughts and ideas on making American education great again. The status quo is not acceptable. I am committed to transforming our education system into the best in the world. However, out of respect for the United States Senate, it is most appropriate for me to defer expounding on specifics until they begin their confirmation process.

Someone help me out, I am not that well versed in the intricacies of US government:

What is this department doing, what are its responsibilities?
How important is it?
Why Carson, is he qualified for that?
Most importantly, which part of Trump's plan will depend on this department and Carson?

Can someone tell me why this Betsy DeVos pick is good? Seems like a Koch ally and certified establishment head. Also why Carson in THAT role? Doesn't make sense to me.

Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag. We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language. And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.

I like the idea of having Romney being picked up as Secretary of State since he is mainstream, experienced, and appears to be competent. People are so resistant to Romney, but Trump taking him on would put the figurehead of the opposition movement in the Republican party in his back pocket. Also, Romney was less hawkish than his peers from what I know.

Either way, Giuliani is too goofy to be the face of America to foreign nations in my mind. If not Romney, we still need a consummate statesman to be our Secretary of State.

I know, but most people aren't seeing it that way. Gonna have to get that message out that it's the same thing he did to Lena, though it's a bit more dangerous.

Jim Webb is still a vastly superior choice and I again urge everyone to go to greatagain.gov and send his name their way. Tweet them @transition2017

Yes, I definitely like Webb. Dana Rohrabacher is another name that's been in the mix. Either are much better than Romney or Guiliani.

RE: Who should be in Trump's cabinet?
http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/...d-take-it/

Quote:Among his House colleagues, Rohrabacher is known most recently as the first congressman to call out Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R.-Wis.) during the speaker’s anti-Trump Columbus Day conference call.

On the call, Ryan told the GOP congressmen that they needed to separate themselves from Trump in the aftermath of the release of a lewd 2005 audio tape of Trump speaking in a direct way about his courtship of a married woman and about women who want to spend time with celebrities. Rohrabacher told Ryan he was disloyal to the party and the party’s nominee, which sparked an uproar in the membership that forced the speaker to back away from his disavowal of Trump.

“It just so happens that Donald Trump and I agree on the major foreign policy decisions that will have to be made,” he said.

Rohrabacher said that central to his view of American foreign policy is the development of a quartet of nations, led by the United States, to grow the world economy, combat terrorism, and check the influence and power of China.

In the congressman’s view, Japan, India, Russia, and the United States share common interests, common rivals, and by working together would fashion a more peaceful and prosperous world.

This quartet would function as a global alliance, he said, adding, “Let’s take a look at China.”

The only way to impress upon the Chinese leaders that their intimidation of their neighbors must stop is to present them with an overwhelming force and power that they know they can never match, Rohrabacher said. “The United States is no longer in a position to do that alone.”

President Barack Obama made a cornerstone of his foreign policy a pivot towards Asia and to rebrand the U.S. as a Pacific power. Rohrabacher said the pivot was an attempt to meet the challenge from China, but China is now more emboldened because Obama’s pivot was so poorly executed.

“I’m trying to think of anything of substance in Obama’s supposed pivot to Asia–I didn’t see anything of substance at all and I am sure the Chinese did not,” he said.

“Thus, if you have a President of the United States beating his chest and suggesting some major foreign policy maneuver and then there’s nothing, that’s going to do nothing but encourage the Chinese,” he said.

Rohrabacher said America should embrace its position as a Pacific power through partnerships with India, Japan, and Russia, which is very much a Pacific power, as well.

“India and Japan are major powers in the world–right now–and their potential is enormous,” he said.

“If we are working with them and we have a workable coalition with them, that is something that would balance off the dynamics at play with an expanding China,” he said.

“Japan has a very strong economy that is quite often overlooked, and it so often overlooked as a force in the world because it is so peaceful,” Rohrabacher said.

For its first 30 years of independence, India was frozen economically and diplomatically by the legacy of English socialism that stifled its natural culture of enterprise and locked it into a quasi-alliance with the Soviet Union and anti-American countries, he said.

India is particularly poised to grow into a world power, he said.

“India has that kind of potential. With the right policies, India will have the same economic growth we have seen in China,” the congressman said. “Its people have incredible entrepreneurial and technological skills and talents.”

One of the sticking points to any coalition involving Russia and the United States is the question of how to unwind the entanglement of Russia with Ukraine over the Russian seizing of Crimea and other Ukrainian territories.

Rohrabacher said he proposes a fair and monitored referendum in Crimea to resolve the situation with Crimeans joining Russia, rejoining Ukraine, or going independent.

“The most important thing is that the United States should not be dictating things like this,” he said.

However, the Californian said in the areas in eastern Ukraine, where the Russians and their confederates have moved in to seize control other than in Crimea, Russia must back out. “That is not acceptable.”

The former speechwriter said Trump understands that the world has changed since the end of the Cold War, but American foreign policy and the factors that go into making foreign policy have been held over from that era.

“Trump would be the first president to come to power in total opposition to that dynamic that has governed us since the beginning of the Cold War,” he said.

Because of his election mandate and the platform he ran on, the incoming president has the leeway to try things that were totally unacceptable to the foreign policy establishment throughout the world, he said.

“That is really significant because the foreign policy establishment that has been in place for decades is disintegrating and it has not been able to meet the challenges,” he said.

“New alliances, like a grand alliance with the United States with Russia, Japan and India could well do more to preserve the peace and the stability of the world and secure our freedom–especially against radical Islam and China–than any of the old alliances could because the old alliances are not useful in meeting today’s challenges–compared to what they did 40 years ago.”

Its interesting Trump is following the mantra: "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer". There won't be a gaggle of "Yes Men" like we currently have.
I would be surprised if Romney was Sec of State but a Webb pick would possibly keep him from running against Trump in 2020.

RE: Who should be in Trump's cabinet?
Trump really needs to appoint some younger guys to the cabinet who can carry the torch of 'Trumpism' (for lack of a better term) in the Republican party going forward. It's painfully obvious that aside from Trump and Jeff Sessions, the entirety of the Republican-and by extension the American- political establishment are old guard globalist shills and cucks. Much as I like Sessions, he's already nearly 70 and definitely part of the present, not the future.

For this reason I was really hoping Kobach would be appointed Attorney General as he has what it takes to carry on the Nationalist legacy after Trump is done. Not sure I've ever seen a man who fits the bill better for what we need: he has the uncommon trifecta of possessing degrees from Harvard (valedictorian!) Oxford and Yale while being so uncucked as to merit a condemnation from the Southern Poverty Law Center. Dude has presidential height and looks like he lifts to boot.

I definitely hope he finds his way into the spotlight in some capacity. He's been doing yeoman's work behind the scene as a force for immigration restriction but he has the potential for a lot more, and being involved in the Trump administration in some visible capacity would go a long way toward propelling his political career.

And that vandalism is another great data point for how they think. Recall also that the biggest reason they kept giving for supporting Hillary was how she was "the most qualified person ever to run".

Leftists are utterly obsessed with external validation. Everything they do is driven by a mentality where they are seeking to have some perceived higher authority anoint them with status and this carries through to their criticisms. To their mind people who have failed to be anointed with respect by authority figures are perceived as somehow lesser than those who do. This would include Trump who has never been appointed to any political cabinet or seat.

So she doesn't like Gen. Mattis because he's not pro-torture, and she doesn't like DeVos because she's refused to support removing Affirmative Action until there were better school choice policies put into place. We can see Trump's pragmatism does not mesh with her conservatist purism.

I don't think it matters to sacrifice on these points. Getting rid of AA is not a political battle worth dying for. It's better to give a bone to the Blacks than it is to have mass immigrant invasion. And as Commander in Chief, it doesn't matter if Mattis supports torture or not. Trump orders torture and they will do it.

^ She also criticized Mattis because he had experts teach his soldiers about Arab culture.

Yes, dumb ass, when you're fighting an insurgency for years, you want to show the minimum amount of respect to the people who aren't trying to kill you. She doesn't even have a basic understanding of how groups like Army Special Forces operate.

But we all know women love to start fights that they know they won't have to handle.
