Chance it. Just don't cry when you are inside a prison cell asking for help. We will be paying our pittance of $7.50 a month for free shipping and free videos on demand.

Agreed- torrents are becoming especially risky even with protection. Not to mention data caps. 250 gigs a month on my current cable plan. It's all fun and games until you get that first letter from your ISP and they disable your service until you call in and listen to their terms and say you agree AND if it happens again, they'll just blacklist you from their services entirely.

Happened to me like a year ago and basically ended my days of sailing the jolly roger.

I agree with voting with your wallet- disavowing amazon, google, etc. But sometimes it just doesn't work out that way. Living in a small town you just don't have that many options unless you drive like 40 miles to the next big town over (Texas).

Walmart is doing the new shipping pass thing which isn't a terrible deal, but ehhh, most Walmart product reviews just aren't that good. It's still a bitch buying something blind because you can't see it in store, and then you get whatever it is and its cheap as hell, and even more so when its got some glaring flaw and you're like, "HOW DID NOBODY MENTION THIS IN THE REVIEWS".
The Amazon review system is still one of the best IMO, even better now that they're cracking down on shill reviews.

Agreed. My posts were overly harsh due to the late night insomnia -- but sometimes, a cost-analysis is smart.

Amazon Prime is still a pretty good deal. And any manosphere boycott takes you out of the equation --- they will base products on what paying customers will pay, not what non-paying non-customers want. Boycotting is not voting with one's wallet, but rather taking your vote away.

You could make a strong argument for boycotting 90% of the companies out there. Even if you found a good retailer, you'd have to research the individual products. And there's no way you could use a credit card - all of the financial services companies are leftist.

Not indicative of the whole company, but seen at a Home Depot.

This is the issue. Unless you are paying with cash at a local small business, then you are going to patronize a liberal company.

Boycotting Amazon to shop online at Ebay or Wal-mart is pointless.

Don't surf the internet bareback.

Use a VPN.

For privacy I use one always, but I'd especially do it if I were torrenting.

Also I'd look into Tribler for anonymous torrenting (uses onion routing like Tor).

RE: Cancel Your Amazon Prime
Remember, voting with your wallet only has a small emergent effect unless you let businesses know why you're no longer buying from them.

The major problem with the left vs. the right is that, these days, most people to the right don't look for confrontation. At most, they'll quietly stop purchasing a product out of distaste. That's not enough, you have to let them know why.

People in PR are trained to assume that for every one person who makes a complaint, a hundred more silently agree with them. Part of the reason feminist agitators are so successful in eliciting compliance from businesses is that, because of this, they assume that half the nation silently agrees with fat, belligerent lesbians (they don't).

I don't use Amazon Prime, but I'd suggest finding the email of someone relevant in the business and telling them why you're unhappy enough to not renew your subscription.

RE: Cancel Your Amazon Prime
Also, for those of you suggesting that "boycotting Amazon is pointless because every major corporation is evil."

You're missing the point.

Amazon ITSELF is not evil. Jeff Bezos, owner of Amazon.com, is. He purchased the Washington Post a few years ago, and then bragged about how he had 20 reporters on it's staff digging up dirt on Trump (not a single one on Hillary).

Also, the WaPo hemorrhages money. Here's an article from 2013 (the most recent data I could find)

Quote:https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/...story.html

Overall, the newspaper division reported an operating loss of $34.5 million in the first quarter, but on a cash flow basis it lost only $5.4 million. The cash flow was derived by subtracting from newspaper earnings $6 million for depreciation and $22.9 million for pension contributions the company does not need to make because its pension plan is over-funded.

The Kaplan division, pressed by Education Department regulations and heavy competition in the for-profit education arena, posted an operating loss of $4.1 million, more modest than the $11.9 million operating loss in the first quarter of 2012. Revenue fell 3 percent, to $527.8 million, still more than half the revenue for the entire Post Co.

Bezos is a businessman, but he bought a business that consistently operates in the red. In other words, it's not a business for him, it's a weapon. A weapon he has pointed at the head of the American people.

And for those saying "No billionaire cares how you spend your money, it changes nothing." I've got news for you: If you think you little special snowflake vote tomorrow is going to swing the election one way or another, it isn't. But are you still going to vote? You'd damn better, or get off the forum. The reason voting matters is the same reason boycotts matters. No, your individual contribution doesn't mean anything, but when combined with thousands or millions of others, it makes a big difference.

redbeard Wrote:<snip>Boycotting SJW companies is a simple and easy way to stand up for our beliefs.

It isn't so simple. How far is the OP and others willing to go? How do you pick and choose? Its one thing to cancel your Prime under the guise of some moral enlightenment, quite another to isolate yourself by supporting only those who share your views.

The "vote with your wallet" mentality is fairly popular among gun owners, and coincidentally, one of the more controversial companies is Costco.

Costco: member conditions

Quote:Costco policy prohibits firearms to be brought into the warehouse, except in the case of authorized law enforcement officers.

Seattle Times: Costco co-founder to host Clinton fundraiser

Quote:Hillary Clinton’s caucus-week plans in Washington state include a high-priced fundraiser at the Medina home of Costco co-founder Jeff Brotman and his wife, philanthropist Susan Brotman.

The former secretary of state and Democratic presidential candidate will attend what’s being billed as a “Conversation with Hillary” on March 22 at the Brotmans’ lakeside home, according to an event invitation.

Tickets for the fundraiser are going for $2,700 a person and up to $50,000 for hosts who will get a private reception with Clinton.

The Brotmans are major Democratic Party donors and hosted President Obama at a fundraiser in 2012.

Business leaders endorse Hillary Clinton

Quote:A group of major business leaders endorsed Hillary Clinton on Thursday in the wake of back-to-back speeches extolling her economic vision and slamming that of her opponent, Donald Trump.

The list includes current and former executives from General Motors, Delta Air Lines, Costco, Airbnb and Alphabet, the parent company for online search giant Google.

Among the highest-profile names on the list are Berkshire Hathaway Chairman and CEO Warren Buffett, Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg and Los Angeles Lakers great Magic Johnson, a businessman and part owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Other sports team owners on the list include Washington Capitals and Wizards owner Ted Leonsis, as well as Laura Ricketts, the lone liberal in the famously conservative Ricketts family that owns the Chicago Cubs.

“Trump would destroy much of what is great about America,” Netflix CEO and co-founder Reed Hastings said in a statement released by Clinton's campaign. “Hillary Clinton is the strong leader we need, and it's important that Trump lose by a landslide to reject what he stands for."

The full list of business leaders endorsing Clinton, some of who had already announced their support, is below:

No Netflix and chill
No Facebook ----> no Tinder
No AirBnb
No Costco
No NFL (it would seem this may be trending though)
No PayPal (they are anti-gun)

Unless you live in a small town lined with mom and pop shops and a local 2 branch bank and pay cash, your money will flow through the coffers of companies who if not replete with SJWs themselves, at the very least support them financially politically or both.

If you do choose to not patronize, absolutely get in touch with the management and let them know in detail, why. Not the manager on duty, not "customer service", not live chat, but the motherfucker on the masthead.

This isn't all-or-nothing.

The idea remains that you should know just what you are funding with your consumer habits.

Like the earlier example of the slave eating from his master shouldn't decide to stop eating. I personally eat a paleo diet but if I'm travelling and there are no paleo options in the vicinity I'm also not going to choose to starve.

Our choice of the company we financially support depends on numerous other factors apart from values such as convenience or cost.

But in reality you easily can and should deal with a small increase in cost or convenience in order to support those who align with your personal values.

It's like hiring a buddy from RVF to repair something for you instead of Mr GooMicroApplemazon who's a cheap sleazy fuck.

Otherwise don't be surprised when these companies are behemoths who monopolise the entire market and we have no choice but to keep spending at their outlets because all other competition long since died off and has been walled out of the marketplace.

Cancelling prime would be hard for me. I've been a member since the $29/year days. Yes, I use and abuse the free 2 day shipping. I'll order chewing gum from amazon if it means saving on tax (no tax in my state) as well as It'll be delivered to my front door. I'm extremely used to the comforts, cancelling would take some adjusting. Same thing with google products. Google maps has saved my ass plenty of times.

David took his men with him and went out and killed two hundred Philistines and brought back their foreskins. They counted out the full number to the king so that David might become the king's son-in-law. Then Saul gave him his daughter Michal in marriage. 1 Samuel 18:27

RE: Cancel Your Amazon Prime
Amazon is probably the single most alt-right/manosphere friendly company in the world. To a large, large degree, they're what made the alt-right possible. How many manosphere bloggers used the amazon affiliate program? How many people, including our own Roosh, sell their books on amazon? Amazon's "publish anything, by anyone" philosophy is what gave us the financial backing that let many of our pioneers turn this into a full-time gig.

Right now I can go to Amazon and buy Forney's "Do the Philippines: How to Make Love with Filipino Girls in the Philippines" or RooshV's own chronicle of the battle of Canada: "Free Speech Isn't Free" from them with a single click of a button. You're complaining about Cernovich's book getting fake reviews? Cernovich gets most of his income from Amazon!

Boycotting them because they were slow to clean up fake reviews, or because Bezos owns the post, is just goofy.

FYI, using Tor for torrenting is specially recommended against by the people at Tor. Might want to reconsider that strategy as you could still get busted that way.
