To bring feminism into the argument, what feminism and this liberal crap has caused is the outrageous over prosecution of simple traffic crimes. Google the facts behind Mothers Against Drunk Driving. Its a sham. Then look at the facts behind Click It Or Ticket.

Everyone has pushed the limits, and in a traffic situation one thing is very clear: The intent to kill someone is not there. Certain groups think it should be treated the same as murder and it just isn't.

Imagine for a moment that I had a demonstrated and documented disregard for gun safety. Imagine I had a court order not to touch a gun much less use one. Imagine that I chose to disregard that court order, get high and stroll around casually blasting rounds off with no regard for where they ended up, but importantly was not specifically trying to kill someone.

Let's imagine that one of my stray rounds caught a nurse in the head a block away and killed her.

I'd like to you imagine what kind of treatment I would get from a judge.

This bitch is a danger to everyone around her and the sooner she's in jail or dead the better. One person is bad enough but she could have just as easily killed an entire family.

If someone is going to push the limits by driving, one logical thing is clear; the possibility to lose control and put oneself and others around them in an unsafe situation, hence the likelihood of killing someone.

Therefore even if the intent was not there to kill while drink driving, there is an obvious high risk of killing someone due to being unsafe, which should be punishable since she actually killed someone, knowing full well that what she did is unsafe.

Now the feminism comes into it when she is essentially getting a slap on the wrist by being so unsafe along with killing someone just because she is a woman.

The person she killed is possibly a caring mother/grandmother and someone younger nurses and patient/residents depend on for solid care, so she has also killed someone who offered a huge benefit to society.

I might just add to the discussion here a personal anecdote. I have a buddy who I have spent the last 8 months helping to get out of gaol.

He was locked up on possession & supply charges. He's guilty of both. No-one has died because of his actions. He had no priors.

He spent the last 8 months in a maximum security "pod" of 32 at Cessnock, NSW. It took a massive effort from his lawyer, family & friends to get him bail for a non-violent crime which he still may be deported for.

From the moment the cops barged in on him (they were there to pick up his alleged rapist flatmate) he was placed under arrest, had his apartment searched from nook to cranny (I have seen the tapes) & been in custody in a MAXIMUM SECURITY GAOL. From visits I learned the conditions in there. It's impossible to "reform" while in prison.

This bint gets bond 2 months after killing someone. Full stop.

The British justice system, like the Russian one, is lenient and aims to not overburden the offender. It may feel shitty for the victim, but it is what it is. Like that Norwegian guy, Breivik who killed 20 or so people and will do just a couple of years at most, with the luxury of whining about the top notch facilities in his apartment cell.

Its shitty, but justice systems develop in different ways and go off in divergent tangents.

Its limp wristed, But still, would you rather live in Britain or Saudi Arabia?

Gee, I know "regret = rape" laws are bad, but would you rather live in North Korea?

Gee, I know that guy stabbed you five times, but you shouldn't complain. Would you rather have been stabbed six times?

Lesser sentences and conditions for women committing identical crimes to men are a statistical fact in every western nation. But hey, no point complaining about it, right? I mean, would you rather live in Saudi Arabia?

It really is what it is. Its bad but what can be done? Human nature prefers the status quo even if the alternative may be better.

I feel bad, and can imagine if I was the one impacted, seeing the criminal walk free with apologies from the judge.

Point is, its bad, really bad, but it won't change- not anytime soon at least.
