RE: How and why did you choose your username?
I was listening to an album that had a song with Mushroom in the title and decided to go with it.
I just wanted a simple one-word name that was completely unrelated to me or my interests, mainly because while I do plan to go public with my brand, I still want to keep my RVF posts separate, this forum is an outlet and I don't want to have every single video I post scrutinized based on what I post here.

Mine is simple. I got divorced, but without kids. So no child support.

So I get a clean slate.

Lionhound is another name for Rhodesian Ridgeback which is a particularly brave breed of dog. I own one and just thought the name sounded cool.

RE: How and why did you choose your username?
Serious Sam is the name of my all time favorite video game from when I used to play. I bought it for $5 in the discount bin at Circuit City (remember those????). Anyway, you basically just blow shit up and chop up monsters and demons. Sam the character also talks shit to the monsters and has some memorable quotes such as:

"Long range weapon for a long term relationship."
"Give a man a bullet and he'll want a gun. Give a man a gun and he'll be giving away the bullets."

RE: How and why did you choose your username?
My first name paid homage to someone who helped lift the scales from my eyes with reference to life in general, but perhaps equally importantly, forced me to avoid thinking in absolutes/extremes. So much of his advice remains relevant to this date. Great game advice too, but that was secondary. Three choice quotes (paraphrased) -

Quote:Philosophy is a very masculine inclination, but so is action. Too much philosophy and you fall into the realm of intellectual masturbation. Too much action without philosophy, and you end up acting without thought, often self defeating.
Its not balance that is key either, because a passive balance is a dull existence.
Rather the key is to live in both ends of the spectrum. Think like a philosopher, think deeply, think rationally, think for hours. Act like a possessed man, act aggressively, like a machine, without rest, act when you're sore, act when you feel defeated.

Quote:What you're looking for is wisdom to understand, what you really need is the courage to implement.

Quote:Willpower is everything. It can create, destroy, dissolve, unite, conquer, anything. Control over money, control over others, that is secondary. The triumph of the will is the greatest achievement of humanity, the pinnacle of sentient achievement.

Would've been great if he'd joined the forum, but he went AWOL slightly before the forum became yuuge.

Eventually I believed it was time to cut ties to that name for a number of reasons.
Wahawahwah is beautiful because half the people just gloss over the name, and that makes it less likely to be remembered. It is also the signature laugh of the most badass troll in Warcraft lore - Voljin the witch doctor (they changed the way he laughs over the last few years, which is even better because only a few oldfags remember the original one). While I never played World of Warcraft (seemed too nerdy and a huge waste of time), I've followed the story through the books (theyre a modern version of LOTR) or these days through cliff-note style videos. The character is superbly nuanced and quite eccentric, which is how I fancy myself tard thus the name change.

comes from the movie Il Sorpasso(1962) which i highly suggest you download illegally.
it's the story of a shy guy who meets and goes on an adventure with a crazy extrovert. To me it's the perfect movie: cars, women, adventure and a great epiphany in the end... people will judge you if you give a fuck, so stop giving a fuck and live because it might be too late.

When signing up I had no idea what my name on here should be. Eventually I settled on Poker as it's a game that I enjoy, especially the psychological aspect.

I want to know why forum member H1N1 chose his name, which is another name for Swine Flu Laugh

(10-11-2016 07:18 AM)Comte De St. Germain Wrote:  My original name aside. The historical Comte sort of represents my ideal. He was a nobody and nobody knew where he came from, but he was remembered for all eternity as he associated himself with some of the most powerful men in the world/influenced them.

That's just sort of my ideal. I disappear in and out of people's lives always with the expectation I'll see them again another day. I may or may not and odds are I'll just be another foot print in the sand forever walking all over the world on his own until I die. Or at best another observer of our time period writing about some great history that will come to pass.

I always thought as a kid I'll achieve something great that'll win me a spot in history, but I realized that will never happen. Though maybe just maybe I'll leave a great enough impact on someone though that either they'll achieve greatness, pass on some/all of my ideals so that someone much further down can achieve greatness, or that I'll leave such an impact on someone that they'll write about me and I'll be remembered for time immemorial. Hopefully all three.

That's just my 2 cents on why I like and chose this name.

Too bad, I was hoping you knew my uncle Bob. He used to bartend at Harold's Club in Reno.

I picked chicane because I like the shape and sound of many archaic words. And, as chicane, I aspire to chicanery.

RE: How and why did you choose your username?
It was an evolution of my old nick name, my friends turned it a notch up and the handle stuck.
I like that it mixes "Gos/gosso" ("dog" in many occitanes languages) and "Mostro"(" Monster" in Italian)

We move between light and shadow, mutually influencing and being influenced through shades of gray...

RE: How and why did you choose your username?
This name goes back far with me.

Back in the late 90's when I was in middle school I got my first computer and played a lot of Starcraft: Broodwar. First time I ever got on the internet and had to make a username for Battle.net, I happened to have the TV on and was watching a killer documentary about the great Soviet Dictator himself, Comrade Card Index, the Man of Steel, The ruthless and legendary Joseph Stalin.

I was enthralled by the borderline unrealistic rule that the dictator held. His blatant disregard for human life, his unchecked psychopathy and paranoia, and his give-no-fucks take-no-shit approach to governing a country and leading a people. I was also a military/gun nut aside from a history buff so WWII was basically my bread and butter, and learning that Soviet Russia was practically the blueprint from which much of the later 20th century dystopia settings were creating just made me fall in love with the Man of Steel. General Stalin was born, right there in my bedroom in the Battle.net username entry box. I went on to use that username for just about everything. Every forum I've registered at, video game profiles, even user logins for various personal billing, financial, etc.

I began my legacy on Infoceptor.com forums. It was a website for Blizzard games where they shared Blizzard news, and offered tons of mods for Starcraft, Warcraft, and Diablo. I was a member there for a good 3 or 4 years back in the golden era of the internet before social media, where memes and internet-based inside jokes were just for us internet nerds and not for the general public. I still have fond memories of that community to this day and do actually miss it. It was a great community rich with character. I was actually one of the General Forum Moderators on that message board in the last year of my tenure.

Who would have thought that the teenaged GS from the nerdy gamer message board would have wound up on a message board of womanizers who discuss how to bang girls all over the world. I rarely play video/PC games these days... but I certainly get a lot more pussy.

RE: How and why did you choose your username?
I wanted a cool name like ZombieJimMorrison, or Laserbear, or Charlemagne in Sweatpants. I was trying to think of something funny and original.

My name is a little philosophical too. When I took the red pill, I had reached a point where I felt like I was putting in a lot of effort at work and in my marriage for far too little respect and reward. I ended up leaving that job and got a divorce, and started to think about what I want to do with my life. I'm to old to start another family. I know some men my age do it, but I don't want to be elderly when my kids are in college. Anyway, I'd be shopping for a wife in the early to mid 30's age bracket, and there really aren't any worthwhile women that age, that you'd want to wife up and have kids with. The risk is just stupid.

Anyway, I figured my goal is to live the good life, have good relationships with friends and family, but especially make up for lost time with lots of pussy, so that's what my name represents.

I'm the tower of power, too sweet to be sour. I'm funky like a monkey. Sky's the limit and space is the place!

RE: How and why did you choose your username?
I chose the Yossarian portion of my username from the character Captain John Yossarian from book and movie "Catch-22". What I take away and like the most about the character is that he's just a regular guy, who after seeing the total hypocrisy of everything around around him, says "Fuck it. I'm in it for me now.' He's right.

That's where "YossariansRight" comes from.

“….and we will win, and you will win, and we will keep on winning, and eventually you will say… we can’t take all of this winning, …please Mr. Trump …and I will say, NO, we will win, and we will keep on winning”.

Quote:Since a prince is constrained by necessity to know well how to use the beast, among [the beasts] he must choose the fox and the lion; because the lion does not defend itself from traps, the fox does not defend itself from the wolves. One therefore needs to be a fox to recognize traps, and a lion to frighten the wolves.

- Niccolo Machiavelli

I chose my handle from the Italian words for "lion" and "fox".

Because Windom Earle is the most villainous tv bady of all time.

Special Agent Dale Cooper once said "his mind is like a Diamond: cold, hard and brilliant."

Earle is also obsessed with Chess and I saw this as being much like the approach to "game", always strategising, always thinking 2 to 3 moves ahead.
