This story is horrible but this is not bullying.

As far as bullying goes "stopping" bullying is like trying how to "teach" men not to rape. It's a ridiculous notion. Teach your kid to stand up for himself and to quit being a pussy.

I was also bullied. Kids tried to shove my head in the toilet, beat me up every time I'd go to the bathroom, and generally fuck with me all day. It was miserable.

In the 4th grade I came home with a few bruises and my dad asked me what happened. I told him and he told me that I needed to defend myself.

The next week, after another round of humiliation in the boys bathroom, I came home with a black eye. This time he was pissed. He brought me to the back room of our house where he kept his guns and deer trophies and made me punch his hand. It was was weak. He showed me how to put my weight into it and a few tips on throwing a good punch. He told me to hit the kid bullying me as hard as I could on the end of the nose, and, to hit him again immediately and to keep hitting him until he was on the ground.

He then promised if I let these kids beat me up again that I would have to deal with him instead. I knew what that meant and it probably involved his belt.

The next day I went to school and in the bathroom one of the kids blocked the door and said that I couldn't leave until I gave him money. I said no and some talking went on and then he pushed me around a bit. Stopping for a moment, he looked to the other bully in the hall through the door and I hit him on the cheek as hard as I could. (I was too scared to punch him in the nose and make him bleed like my father told me). He hit the floor. I ran and he got up and chased me down hall pushing me into a locker.

A teacher ran up to us and asked what's going on and I said "nothing". She saw the other kid's cheek was red and asked if we were fighting and I put my arm around him and said "No Mrs.So-and-So me and Phil are friends". He followed my lead and we talked our way out of it arm in arm. After she left he just walked away.

After that Phil and I really were friends and we still are (sort of, I haven't seen him in years). I still got fucked with a little that year but nothing like before and after I beat one other kid up for knocking my books out of my had it completely stopped.

You might be thinking "anecdotal evidence!" but it's not. You hear this many times and it's often a theme in hollywood movies. The plot is popular because it's true. If you hit a bully and show him you're not scared you might get beaten up but you'll get respect. If you win you'll get more. You might even become friends.

This country is raising a bunch of cowards and "denounce violence" pansies. If you didn't know, violence makes the world turn. Government upholds law and order under the threat of violence. Whoever has the best violence (military or wepons) is the most powerful. You don't obey the law a police officer comes to your door. If you can overcome his violence his friends come with more violence. If you beat them the National Guard will come with soldiers and tanks. You will surrender, escape, or die. Governments have the most violence.

A quote from Gary Halbert in "The Boron Letters" says "There is no justice, only power."

I realize this has nothing to do with this disabled kid, I was responding to the subject of bullying.

That same year a female teacher started standing at the door to watch us pee to "stop the violence". One day while the teacher was watching us, Phil walked up to the urinal to take a piss and let his pants fall to his ankles exposing his white ass to the teacher. She yelled and walked out. We all-

My childhood had some moments similar to the poster above. I was a smaller kid and so made an easy target. In 3rd grade I told my father that kids were picking on me and he said "did you fight back?" I said no, because I didn't want to get in trouble with the teachers. My Dad said "if you aren't starting the fight, don't worry about getting in trouble. Even if you get sent home from school you won't get in trouble that home". My jiu jitsu sensei said something similar when I was a teen "if you didn't start the fight, I will testify in court for you if you get hit with assault charges or are in trouble at school"

Starting from that day on I had to spend about the first month of each school year beating the fuck out of either bullies at a new school I moved to, or to new kids in my grade that didn't know who I was. These bullies never learned their lesson, they just moved on to weaker targets.

Even when I was in high school, I rode the bus with obviously disabled and special needs kids. Every once in a while, I'd see some low IQ mouth breathers actually picking on these kids. There were no teachers around to see or intervene. I would leave the cafeteria to scare them off.

There have always been animalistic kids but the world is now too full of pussies to stand up to them. Kids have no fathers to back them up and are taught to always 'tell the teacher' which is the same fallacy as "don't own a gun, call the police" line that adults are taught.

I went to an all-boys Catholic high school for two years. My recollection (keep in mind this is going on 20+ years ago now) is that while there was some bullying and teasing, it wasn't anywhere near as bad as the public schools.

I don't know if it was the fact that there were no girls around or not, I think much of it was because the faculty (many of whom were Brothers) were much more experienced and firm laying down the law than some of these unionized public school goons. Rich or poor, nobody acted like a shit and got away with it alive

You learned very quickly what was acceptable and what was not.

In WW2 men drove trucks across the frozen Lake Lagoda 24 hours a day to relieve the Siege of Leningrad, under constant attack by German aircraft. Some of them froze to death in their vehicles, trying to get food and supplies to the civilians.

This isn't the behavior of any ordinary animal.

My oldest was in year 1 when his teacher asked me to speak to her after school. Turns out some kid had pushed him out of line and my boy had bitten the offending kid, sending him bawling to the principles office for a bandaid.

She tells me "you need to teach your son that violence is not an acceptable solution, even if he's being bullied."

Is say, "no, I wont teach him that. In fact, I'm going to tell him how proud I am of him for standing up for himself."

The look on her face. You could have knocked the stupid old bag down with a feather.

I've begun to really value civil society, where social niceties are expected and enforced, even by people who do not understand their importance.

I don't want to reveal too much about my old job, but for many years I worked with troubled kids, many of which were the same age as the monsters in this story. I understand the point many of you guys are making about these kids likely coming from single parent homes, and they very well might. But in my experience, evil, and yes, setting another human being on fire even at ten years of age, is evil, is something that can come from any home environment. Some of the worst of the worst came from the awful family background and years of abuse, but just as many would come from a stable family and even have normal siblings. Lots of tears and heartbreak from moms and dads trying to understand just how it's possible.

These ten year olds are done, lock them up and throw away the key. I've worked with hundreds of kids this age. No matter how bad ass or rough 99% of them were, deep down they had a conscience that would stop them from doing something this heinous. That 1% though? The ones that would set another kid on fire? You can't rehabilitate that person. That kind of shit is in their very being. Maybe it's possible in some non existent utopia, but for sure not in our legal system.

I didn't work for the school system but where I was at, we always needed to notify the parents or legal guardians if anything happened to their kid, even for something as minor as getting a mark on their leg from bumping a table. I would always equate in my mind that the number of lawsuit threats from the parent or guardian would coincide with their parenting level. More threats=shittier parents. Things could get rough in the facility as the kids would at times get in fights, self inflict wounds, or at the worst get physically restrained. One group of parents were aware of their child's problems, that's why they were with us in the first place at the facility. They would read the reports, talk to staff and the kid's therapist's etc. and work with us. The other group were always looking for an excuse to further exploit the kid they so miserably fucked up in the first place. Always threatening with the lawsuits, hoping for any reason to get their payday. They would fake such concern over the kid when they would come in to check on him/her to make their threats. What would make it even sadder is that the kid would be ecstatic to see them, even though they couldn't be bothered to visit for the previous three months or so before an incident. All the kid would think is they are finally here to care about me. The families would leave, of course we would never hear from a lawyer, and they wouldn't visit again for a few months until the next incident.

I'm calling bullshit on the "accidental" burning of this kid, especially with a local saying that one of those boys was out of control.

Just covering the truth because it doesn't fit the narrative.

All these bullying stories brings up some old people I grew up with.

John was the older cool kids from our bus stop, he fucked with me only once - basically tricking me looking down and then smacking me in the nose, twice, got a bloody nose, I was fighting back tears, he never did anything like that again, and was cool.

This was the only time in my entire life I ever experienced any physical bullying, one incident.

Eric and his older brothers were that standard white trash stoner, also at our bus stop, he was short tempered, smoked himself retarded, but would occasionally drop some racist insults, eventually I fired right back, I still think it's him and his friends who toilet papered my house (but who didn't do that to someone). Now he's got a daughter, still retarded, and a drunk at one of our local bars, I even see him walking to the bar, since he can't drive.

This guy at school was hating on me because his ex girl was into me a crushing on me, we also had class together. One of the hottest persians at school, damn she hit the wall fast and got a little chubby (I ended up hooking up with her best friend awhile later as a consolation prize.

Anyways this guy would ALWAYS maddog me walking around campus, would never say shit to my face, one of the guys who used to to tease at the bus stop noticed this guy maddoging me, walked up up to him, face to face, and asked if there was a problem with his boy (me), after that he never looked back, eventually he'd give me dabs walking by and we were cool.

Fortunately I kind of blend in and never got shit during my stint there, my friends who lived there are white boys, but kept it pretty cool with the locals on north shore, when I first visited there I was worried about those "Defend Hawaii" AR-15 stickers lol. As long as you're cool and don't act all obnoxious and touristy they'll treat you alright.

Interesting, i'm more wiling to believe this than a premeditated act. For the cops to come to this conclusion probably means the instigator (kid who got them all together to start the fire) is balling his eyes out right now at the thought that he almost killed a kid and told them the truth. The other kids probably all said the something to the same extent.

When the kid comes to, he'll probably tell a story close to theirs. They were being boys and it went terribly wrong and one kid got burned.

All my bullying was verbal. I only got into an altercation once, but that was easily dealt with. The meanest thing someone ever said to me was, "If you get laid before me, i'll commit suicide!"

Ironically, I got laid before him.

I only wish I had kids try to fight me more often. Getting over that would be far easier than getting over some of the self defeating thoughts I struggle with now from years of boys and girls talking down to me.

My sister and I were playing with fire and gasoline once when we were little. I was older and was the instigator. I'd pour gasoline on the concrete, in a puddle about a foot wide, and light it with a burning stick. No problem. I'm surprised I haven't tried it in a while. Anyway, while I was lighting one of the puddles, she poured some more gas on the flaming puddle, which spread immediately. Then she freaked out and dropped the gas can, and stepped back, and the flames leapt to the ceiling of the garage.

Fortunately, nobody was hurt, and we didn't even burn down the building. However, it's real easy to see how things could have gone wrong with one of us crisped.

The current situation is very unfortunate, but I'd much rather have it be an accident than deliberate.

Since dealing with the issues at my godsons school, I have first hand experience with this. There is an autism kid at my nephews school. One of the side effects apparently is biting and hitting. The autism kid went into a little fit a while back and started hitting my godsons cousin, my niece. My godson tackled the autism kid, and told him to stop messing with his cousin. This spun the autism kids tantrum through the roof.

My brother in law was deployed and my sister was working on another island, so myself and my nieces father got called in. I wouldn't fuck with my nieces father. Think Junior Seau but with a face tattoo.

Autism causes you to not like to be touched, and because of its changes to the human brains sensitivity to touch, makes hitting things feel good. This is what we were told. We were told to get involved with the support group the school has for special needs parents, and there would be no disciplinary action taken against the kids.

I went a few times. Everyone of these women were fat. On top of that they blamed everything under the sun (some blamed the sun) for their kids problems.

Fukushima, mercury, gluten falling from the sky, and arsenic in the carpet dye were the main culprits. One lady had a theory that involved Edward Snowden.The obesity reason was just big pharma and the oil companies way of passing blame. It was shocking.

These people have absolutely no sense of responsibility.

I remember this one time myself and three friends had set out to find the body of a person we heard had been killed by a passing train. Unbelievably we found it but this asshole "Ace" and some of his friends turned up and wanted to take the credit for the find themselves.

Well my buddy Chris was pretty set on stopping Ace, but can you believe it, the bastard pulls a switchblade on him. Hell, we were only kids and they were old enough to drive! Anyway, by sheer fortune Chris, had "borrowed" his dad's pistol. I pulled it out. Bloody thing was a huge 45. Barely fit in my hands. I fired a shot into the air and sort of got into this Mexican standoff his Ace and his crew. Eventually he backed down but he swore he'd get his revenge on me.

Never did, though. Reckon I'll have to slot that story somewhere in my memoirs.
