Full padding and mask. Anything less is not fair on the puck that would invariably be forced to make contact with her.

All you need is a real life Jabba the Hutt and a team would be virtually invincible. They could score one goal on their opponents and then spend the rest of the 90 minutes high-fiving each other because it wouldn't matter.

There's no rule that says your goalie can't be pushed from the bench to the net and it would give the backups something to do twice per game.

Of course, Jabba would have to use the Zamboni exit, as there's no way he/she is going to be able to use the tiny doors used to access the team bench.

In hockey, penalties aren't even taken the by the goalie. Someone else sits in for him, so we don't need to worry about the fatty being unable to access the penalty box.

This is the future of at least one professional sport.

Unfortunately, the nets are much larger for soccer, so I guess soccer pros will just have to keep pretending to be injured if they want to win.

Apparently you'd at very least have to dose them up on painkillers before you send them out to face death by puckage. The protective gear is all made to a standard size, which I suppose is why you don't see goalies with custom leg pads four feet wide and five feet tall.
