I find myself seriously questioning the sexual history of the guys that think these bots will reasonably reproduce the sensation you get when you dominate another human being in one of the most powerful ways possible.

That's a drug that there's no methadone for.

These bots will find incredible markets for the incels and virgins hungry for the illusion of real sex. For men that have actually seem the look in the eyes of a woman desperately hoping you'll tell her how well she did? Silicon Sandy isn't gonna cut it.

Is there any reason for "gadgets" like these to run on an open system with wifi and everything? Shouldn't a closed system do the trick? Although I'm not much of a tech geek so I probably don't know what I'm talking about.

I agree. Men also need that emotional and physical connection that no robot can imitate (at least for now).

People seem to think these sexbots are like a Star Trek Holodeck or the Matrix - you literally can't tell it apart from reality.

Every bot I've seen is about half a step more realistic than Disney's hall of presidents and the "amazing" AI isn't even as good as Siri. We're decades, maybe even hundreds of years away from a truly realistic doll. As I've said in this thread before, instead of a sexbot, I'd prefer a robot that cooks, cleans, drives and can spot me at the gym...maybe even light secretarial duties.

I see robots replacing women in the workforce LONG before replacing them in the bedroom.
