When I saw this thread I couldn't believe it, as I did remember posting in a very similar thread in 2015 where a multiracial woman was also the winner of Miss Japan. I'm sure a lot of people thought my post in that thread bordered on tin foil hat territory, but whaddya know. Multiracial women of questionable beauty being crowned Miss Japan two years in a row and now it turns out the people behind it are the usual suspects. (((Coincidence))) indeed lawl.

For the record, here is what I wrote in that thread. I'd wager Miss Ines Ligron would agree with the gist of the point I was making, as it is no doubt that very reasoning that is motivating her selections of "Japanese" beauty queens.

I've been digging around Japanese Instagram the last few months. I speak/read Japanese, but the most important thing is know the right hashtags to search for. Anyway, I've noticed a lot of Japanese women identifying as single moms. When I was studying Japanese in American colleges and traveling to Japan in the 2000's, I'm pretty sure being a single mom was not cool. It definitely was not something a woman advertised. This points to at least the early stage of social acceptance.

It's crazy--and terrifying--how quickly large change can come.

I was in Osaka last week and saw probably thousands of better looking woman wandering around the Dotonbori area. Not my first time to Japan but my first in Osaka. I was stunned by the quality and quantity compared to the SE Mi. area.
