Hillary Clinton is devastation indeed. She hasn't been sent to prison yet for committing Federal Offences against national security policies in her E-mail scandals, but Clinton want to create more prisons to put millions of innocent men in jail for fake rape allegations.

Well said about Hillary, I like the way Le Pen is straight to the point.

But one part of her interview caught my ear - when talking about burkinis, she uses the oppression of women and the secularist nature of the French state as arguments. I find it interesting how even staunch right-wingers have to parrot at least some elements of the Progressivist dogma to remain viable candidates.

That's actually a perfect strategy.

I followed the presidential election on actual French media in 2007 when Sarkozy was elected and Royal, the ex-partner of President Hollande, ran for the Socialists. Both Sarkozy and Royal totally ran over Jean-Marie Le Pen with accusations of racism. He only got 10% and was eliminated from the first round.

In 2012, Marine took over as the candidate and she ended up underperforming, only getting 17% in the first round when she wanted at least 25%. Again, "racism", "racism", "racism".

The French are (in general) a bizarre breed of people. They protect their language like purity-obsessed hawks but have this ridiculous predilection with not recording race or religion on the census. An individual French voter is probably the most politically-torn ballot box stuffer in Europe.

Marine has to appeal to the warm and fuzzy exterior of many French voters, especially the edges of the UMP support base. Simple appeals to Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité and then hopefully the voters will come.

I disagree with her removing Jean-Marie, but the French media is massively hostile to the FN, perhaps more so than the liberal networks in the US are to the GOP. She has to work with something, at least until the political climate gets better.

After Trump won, I asked around what people here were thinking.
I didn't find ONE Trump supporter, they all regurgitated what they heard on TV.
I tried to show them videos exposing the truth, but they weren't interested (at all).

She could pass the first turn...but the second would see an alliance of all the other parties against her.

I would say it's quite the opposite.


Europe (especially after 1945) tries to imitate the US in any way.


Modern culture in Europe and many political movements are basically c/p - sted from America. Good examples are the PC culture and multiculturalism.


If we take that into account, it is inevitable that the Europeans will have a "MAGA" of their own.I mean...look at Brexit and the ascent of the alt right (and alt left). That could not happen without US cultural influence!

Well, once in a blue moon a politician will use shock words, in order to gain votes.
For example Sarkozy said he would "karcher" the suburbs.
It made some headlines, but that doesn't go much further.

US Elections are full of these events.
French ones are boring, to say the least.

Does it work? Yes.
Is it used? Not often.

On Tuesday, Ms Le Pen’s niece, Marion Marechal-Le Pen, who has her own seat in the French Assembly, voiced enthusiasm for Breitbart giving her party’s supporters new voice in France.

“All alternative media are generally positive. Donald Trump is the demonstration of that... they're among the useful tools,” she said during a visit to Moscow. Speaking to the Agence France Press, AFP, she added that there had been "some small contacts for some time“ between the FN and the Trump campaign in the United States.

On Tuesday, President Barack Obama warned of the rise of what he called a “crude sort of nationalism” in advanced economies around the world as demonstrated by the election of Mr Trump and the Brexit vote. He was speaking in Athens during a one-day state visit to Greece.

Breitbart, which has a record of promoting a right-wing agenda and assailing the Republican establishment as well as the liberal left in the US, has seen its profile explode in the months since Mr Trump began his ultimately successful campaign for the White House.

Also on Tuesday, it said in a statement released to The Hill that it was preparing a lawsuit against another "major" US media outlet for allegedly mischaractersing its mission.

“Breitbart News Network, a pro-America, conservative website, is preparing a multi-million dollar lawsuit against a major media company for its baseless and defamatory claim that Breitbart News is a ‘white nationalist website,’” the statement read.

“Breitbart News cannot allow such vicious racial lies to go unchallenged, especially by cynical, politically-motivated competitors seeking to diminish its 42 million monthly readers and its number one in the world political Facebook page. Breitbart News rejects racism in all its varied and ugly forms. Always has, always will,” the statement continues.

The relationship between the site and Trump became more than casual when its head, Stephen Bannon, took a leave of absence to become CEO of the Trump campaign last summer. At the weekend, President-elect Trump appointed him as senior advisor to the president, a choice that prompted fury from the left that he would be occupying so influential a post in the White House.

It is now becoming clear that Mr Bannon, who took the reins at Breitbart after its founder, Andrew Breitbart, died in 2012, is convinced that voter disaffection means the site can broaden its horizons quickly, including by trying to tilt the political dynamic to the right in Europe.

The organisation already has a British iteration, set up in 2013, when the company calculated that it could benefit from the rising popularity of the ‘Leave’ campaign as Britain prepared for the Brexit referendum. It is led by a young conservative activist, Raheem Kassam, who was previously chief advisor to Nigel Farage, another luminary in the alt-right universe.

In an interview with The New York Times at the weekend, the US editor-in-chief, Alex Marlow, confirmed its European ambition. “There’s an under-served readership“ in Europe,” he said. ”It's the same readers who had been ignored in Britain and had been ignored in the United States.”

He also basked in the site’s new notoriety. “So much of the media mocked us, laughed at us, called us all sorts of names,” he noted. “And then for us to be seen as integral to the election of a president, despite all of that hatred, is something that we certainly enjoy, and savour.”

Speaking last week to Reuters, he offered more detail saying that as well as looking at introducing sites in France and Germany, his team was looking to grow operations in the US, hiring new journalists and exploring the possibilities of a television presence also.

“There’s going to be more hiring that goes on – I’m already picturing more tech reporting, more media reporting,“ Mr Marlow said. ”We do a tonne of politics reporting now so I don’t know that we’ll need to do more but we certainly aren’t planning on scaling back with anything.”

Plans for some kind of television expansion for Breitbart are being explored by the US site’s technology editor, Milo Yiannopoulos, a figure who is regularly excoriated on social media for derogatory comments he has made about Muslims, Black Lives Matter activists and feminists.

Prior to his winning last week’s election there had been speculation that Mr Trump would pick himself up from being defeated by Hillary Clinton and then focus his energies on creating his own television operation to satisfy an alternative-right audience, possibly in harness with Breitbart. Any such plans would have been mothballed in view of his victory.

This is great news. I hope Breitbart will spread their news site far and wide throughout Europe.

I think ISIS is thinking different after Trump won, they may talk about how happy they are with Trump winning and use it as recruitment propaganda, but the reality is different, they know Russia Putin and USA Trump combined will be purging ISIS, many wannabe Jihadists will think twice about joining ISIS.

True, this is a year where everything could happen, but the French is a difficult proposition. Many people who voted for Trump did not like him, but had enough of the left and immigrants etc. In France, those kinds of people would vote, but a white blank vote to "show their discontent".

That and many French right wingers have this deep "moral superiority". Whereas most American liberals virtue signal in order to overcompensate or to fill a void inside their worthless selves, many French believe deeply that race/religion has nothing to do with it and that they can do better than Le Pen. Dilusional if you ask me, but these are the kinds of people who say immigrants are bad, France should get out of EU, and still they wouldnt vote Le Pen. Sentiment-wise I think French feel the same shit as do Trump voters, but vote-wise it is very hard to predict.

There's a growing anti Europe sentiment going on however and this is the best card Le Pen has to play, but its harder in France. French people have been depending on their government for everything for much much longer than Americans. Everything is subsidized from healthcare to education, and most people think the government are good, or at least a necessary evil. It is much harder to fan an anti-establishment flame here.

We'll see how this plays out.
