Let's be honest here. The top level southers european girls (8+) are absolutely impossibile to get for every foreigner that go to Spain, Italy, Greece ecc (unless we're talking about famous, popular guys). Even being very good looking isn't enough because there are lots of good looking guys in those places. They also have zero social circle, they don't speak the language properly and they don't know the culture very well.

And for locals is the same...many are quite happy dating down because the dating market is so bad in these places that even finding a 6 for a LTR can be seen as a victory. Many of the guys I was in school with are actually in LTR with girls uglier than them. That's the norm here.

Now on Spain, there was a huge thread a few years back debating prostitution in Spain. Some posters were saying it was ubiquitous and others (G manifesto) were saying it is no more common than in Cincinnati for example. I'm sure the reality is somewhere in between. What's your take on this? Not asking to turn this into a morality question about pay for play but to better understand the Spanish males mentality and grasp the local culture and society.

Prostitution: MUCH more common in Spain than in the US...although Spanish guys won't admit they go, but it is actually very common for Spanish guys to pay to play, since the level of thirstiness here is obscene. So prostitution is accepted (quietly) and the age range used to be older married men, but that is quickly dropping to men even in their 20s. It's not something socially well seen though so nobody will ever admit it. Brothels are everywhere in Madrid and you can walk around Montera street (a very central area) and see them openly call you to have sex. Most of the prostitutes in Spain are NOT Spanish women though - most are Eastern European, Latin American and African.

When I got to Spain, my main target was one of those elegant chic slender women in their 40s that Spanish cities have a good number of. I am in my late 50s.

Zero success. From dating apps, they would chat and then shut down when you proposed an actual meeting. On the street and in venues, they are in packs and trying to break into one of those groups got me dismissed with amused contempt several times.

I fell in with a group of younger guys who hung out in the taverns. It was good for my Spanish to drink and talk. They complained that girls were "muy dura." It turned out that several of them were gay or situationally bisexual (like prisoners). It was a lot like an Arab country. The DNA of Andalucia is about 25-30% Arab and Berber, the Caliphate had a long occupation there, and the syncretic nature of religion meant that Spanish Catholicism picked up some of the Arabic cultural traditions.

For a window on Spain, Spanish women, Spanish gayness, and Spanish culture after Franco, I recommend some of the movies of Pedro Almodovar, especially the earlier ones made in the 80s. Carmen Maura in those movies is THE Spanish woman.

That's right -- trying to talk to a pack of Spanish people who have already known each other for AGES, especially women, will get you shot down with contempt. But that's why the gaming style here is different. It's not about talking to the group you don't know...it's about getting introduced through some other way. For me, it's not worth the hassle since I'm just not into Spanish women at all. I don't like how hard they sound and don't consider them to look feminine in many cases. There are of course remarkable exceptions to that and it depends what city you are in, though. For me, Madrid is the absolute worst.

I TOTALLY agree with you on Carmen Maura: She is the embodiment of many of the women in Spain, especially Madrid. Almodovar's films are really great because they show the real side of Spain...Madrid raw especially. He is mostly not liked by the Spaniards though, since they hate their own cinema and/or anyone else who is more successful than they are. Envy is really an extreme element in Spain. You haven't seen real jealousy and envy until you've lived in this country.

About the divorcees: Most of them either just "go gay" as I say...as in, they let off steam on the side with other men (like the Greeks) OR, they turn to prostitutes. That's why the prostitution rate and usage is so high - the highest in the world, in Spain.

And of course I totally agree about Arabic influence in Spain even though they will HATE when you say it. But a lot of Spain could pass for Cairo, Egypt were it not for the fact that they don't wear Arab dress and the country is, for now, wealthier. Interesting, I got my Spanish flag quite easily from OKCupid with a women who was 38 at the time. I was 42. She was a semi-hot ex party girl/carousel rider. She fell in love and we ended up in a long distance relationship for the next year. We both had flexibility at work, so over the year we ended up spending 3 months together. In the end though she wanted things to move faster than I was ready for. When I wouldn't move at her pace, she became more demanding. When you say the young Spanish chicas sometimes bang for drugs are we talking nose candy, cannibus or something else?

I spoke with a few Spanish guys who told me in Spain the further south you go the better looking the women are. So I guess that would mean Andalucia has the hottest home grown talent. Do they have the best attitudes as well?

Im hearing a lot of people arent fans of Madrid. In your opinion excluding Madrid and Barcelona, what are the top 3 cities for game in Spain?

I'm talking nose candy or pills of some sort. Cannabis is VERY VERY VERY EASY to get in Spain so that won't do any good.

For me, the top 3 cities in Spain for game, in this order:

Valencia
Tenerife (or any cities in the Canary Islands)
Malaga

Generally, stick to the Mediterranean coast (except Murcia though). It is very laid back, people don't give a crap about you, no staring problems, much cheaper than Madrid. For me Valencia is hands down the most relaxed and best second-tier city in Spain. The city is known for the "I don't give a F" attitude...it is actually, I call it the New Orleans of Spain -- Fallas street festival in March is INSANE, the city is anarchy for a week, no laws.

Re: Southern Spain --

Yes and no. The girls are indeed beautiful IF you like dark Arab looking features, big eyes, intense personalities, etc...but they can also be extremely traditional and family-oriented to the point of that being a limitation for a player. They are not "easy" by any means. I prefer the lighter girls of Valencia and Barcelona if I had to stick to Spanish girls.

The typical real Valencian girl (not the immigrants there from other parts of Spain) but if you go into the surrounding towns the typical girl is light skin, light eyes and blonde or light brown hair isn't at all unusual. I also like the "barbie" look in the Summer here. Valencia is a city where people love to show off their fashion or bodies. Think kind of like Southern California or Miami vibe and you can get a feel for Valencia. It is known as Spain's version of California.

I would not say it is totally dead, it just takes a lot of work and the tight exclusive social circles make it really hard. As Baldrich has said, you can find lots of other nationalities there. Plenty of Scandanavians, I had some dating app hits with Swedes, Finns, Norwegians, but didn't pursue them, mostly because of distance.

Hatred of Spanish cinema goes a lot deeper than envy. I'm pretty sure it has a lot to do with the Franco era and how censored so many Spanish films were (and generally speaking how bad a lot of them were). I think the stigma that Spanish cinema is inherently bad likely just stuck around in Spain, it must have been rough seeing as how France, a country loaded with great cinema was right next door.



Speaking of Pedro Almodóvar, I've seen Law of Desire and Women on the verge of a nervous breakdown - anyone recommend any of his other stuff?

These were very early 90s.

I havent seen any of his 80s films but I may give them a look now.

That's right - newspapers here openly include escort ads, and there is porn almost all day on TV...including hard porn. This is a country where although it is hard to actually get a real woman on a real "date", as a result porn is ubiquitous as are thirsty men.

Even if you do have a GOOD group of Spanish female friends that say nice things about you to the other friends and you go out together, PERHAPS you could bed a Spanish woman. But the normal thing here is to have friends, friends who already have girlfriends, those girlfriends have female friends who may be ugly or not...but keep in mind most nice looking women here already have a boyfriend. So really your only other realistic option is to try with women you DON'T know.

I find most Spanish women are boring and like we know, have that "Princesa" complex. They think they are doing you a favor if they talk to you and it's like if it were some sort of audience with a Queen. To hell with that. So what I do is I simply just ignore them. Trust me Spanish women KNOW when you are important and WILL begin to talk to you IF you act like a boss. It's happened to me several times. The key is to go to the same bar/club FREQUENTLY...get people to know you, BE SEEN. BE A MAN, in other words. Dress well, talk right. Believe me, they will notice it. Spanish women may be selfish and rude, but they're not stupid. I love to see sometimes their expression when I'm out with a group of friends (usually foreign but some Spanish) and tell her "put it all on my tab, the boss pays".

In fact YEARS ago I had two girls walk up to me (SPANISH AS CAN BE) in a SMALL Castilian city well known for its student population and they both wanted me to bed them. I chose one. It's one of the few times I ever remember SPANISH women taking the initiative and I loved every moment of it. They asked me about the US, told me they liked my attitude of standing alone in the bar ignoring everyone as I read the newspaper...good times. Really.

I still think that part of the reason why women can be so bitchy and difficult in Spain (this is an internationally known fact by all men who have a pulse) is that many, many Spanish MEN leave a lot to be desired. If I were a woman in this country, I'd be a bitch too.

If you take a look at the men with some class and manners and culture in this country, most of them are married or in a relationship with FOREIGN women. Any man with class doesn't go through any ordeal with these women.

I wasn't attracted at all to her friend...and the really surprising thing was that when we left the bar, I left with BOTH of them and the bartender was just wowed (as were other bar employees). When we were outside, I distinctly remember her friend telling her "have fun" and said "bye" to me in English. Then we just went to her apartment and...well, mission accomplished. I was only 25 though and she was 23.
