May-be I am not understanding something.

Yeah, I tried it out and I find those numbers hard to believe.

Went to Martin Berkhan's Instagram (the leangains guy, my niche is fitness) and followed the first 50 people that didn't have private accounts. After 6 hours, I only have 5 people that followed me back. Not even sure any of those were people that I followed.

This guy must have the sauce because my follow back is pushing 25% and people have told me that's damn good. So cheers to you!

On another note, I'm well over 1000 new followers and so the average for me is about 3.5-4 days for every new 1000 followers. At least 60% are female which is great. Think it has to do with my niche and again my great pics. Already noticed almost every girl I DM responding to my messages ASAP compared to when I had sub 500 followers and took a few days to get a hit back.

No on to the dirty: Got a little greedy with the liking and was temporarily banned from liking. I read it's only 24 hours, but don't want to risk it so won't like anything for 7 days. Also got more greedy with the following and was temporarily banned from that one too. I read that's only 12-24 hours, but will start back after 48 hours. It's actually perfect timing I got banned as I'm having a shit ton of people I followed who aren't' following back so i'm running FL to unfollow them all. I discovered the limit is about 80 unfollow per hour so i programed FL to unfollow anywhere from 60-70 per hour at average of 1 every 45 seconds or so. It's been running for almost 24 hours non stop now with no problems.

I'm going to just follow this 80 people per option rule from now on regarding my likes, following and unfollow task. Once I get to 5000 followers, currently at 2k, I will post a few new pics and come tell you guys what my followers to picture likes and comments ratio area.

While I'm pretty active this last week when I start following people on a popular page like National Geo Travel I got exactly 78 followers back in the hour after liking them. Maybe some overlap from likes before but not much because I was inactive for 2 days before that. I followed 600 I know this because of my unfollowers app but you're suggesting 15,000 is required. Our numbers are so far apart someone has to be missing something because I just did this test and those are the numbets I got. Did this all from my phone.

If you followed 600 in an hour that makes 14400 in 24 hours. So yeah, to get 75 per hour that is the amount you would have to follow.

You said you followed 600 people, and liked them. I am guessing you liked more than one picture. You can get a temporary ban for doing so much activity in 1 hour.

But not everything is written in stone. Maybe you have old account and it is overlooked. Maybe you have awesome value that fits you niche and that brings you good return follows.

a) Even the minimum engagement necessary to grow followers involves Liking and Commenting and turning into yet another faceless male orbiter, even if these actions are solely taken to grow the IG account.

b) Time spent planning how to strategically deploy said likes and comments.


FOMO-accelerant:
a) Seeing more and more of people straining and flexing to portray the best, most exciting stuff constantly -- silly as it may be, exposure to this is depressing. I have plenty of fun, but when I'm relaxing easy, I don't want everyone else's amazing evening thrown in my face.

I'm in this same boat. Do you have to have a sort of predisposition to be able to use IG effectively?

Yes, and unfortunately it's the kind of predisposition that frequently makes people uninterested in female company altogether.

Why am I getting some strange vibe of competition on here? Dudes on here should be completely transparent with their settings and what's working for them... if you're worried about lurkers then just ask to move the thread to the private forum.

There's how many hundred million users on IG? We should have a mentality of abundance -- No need to brag or keep things to yourself (scarcity mentality), plenty to go around.

Do you guys have your RL profile mixed with your "game profile" or do you keep real friends away from your profile?

One thing I notice is there's an "activity" tab in the app which shows what people are doing - i.e. what they liked and who they followed. I'm not sure if people check this but if they do I'm afraid all this activity will make you look a bit beggy - xxx like 300 photos, xxx followed yyy and 759 others etc. Then you're kinda busted because it's obvious what your doing.

Maybe because that's all in your head. Or you are competing, but only with yourself lol.

My niche (by hashtag) is: long hair, natural hair, blackmenstyles, art and photography These are filled up with nothing but women liking my pics all day long. I try to saturate my profile by having 2 artsy cool pics and one selfie that way I'm not coming off too show offish. I'd say half the people who follow me like at least 3-5 of my pics. I chose these niches because I hit it off well with these type of women in real life so took a gamble that these same chicks on IG would like my pics. Seems to be working so far.

My follower count has just come to 5000 mark. In last 2 days I have noticed that I am getting around 120-130 return follows, which is very good as normally it was below 100.
I think as you get more followers more people will actually follow you back due to your perceived value. Or may it be that in my five last posts I am only wearing a t-shirt in one

Another tip: have an excel sheet where you keep track of the number of new followers and the follow-back ratio per day. Three days ago I updated my excel sheet and noticed that in the past week I only gained about 50-70 new followers per day. My guess was that the source sites I am using were not yielding me the same results any more, so I replaced 3-4 of those sites with other source sites that I haven't used for months. The result was 150-170 new followers per day for the past 3 days.

I strictly seperate real friends and Instagram. I only have 1-2 real good friends who know about my Instagram pages. For the rest of my friends I am using Facebook, but I barely post anything on Facebook.

Good question about the activity tab. I am not using it at all, so I never really thought about it until now. But I wouldn't worry about it. If someone doesn't like that I am mass-liking and mass-following, then they are free to unfollow me and as none of my friends or family has my IG, I couldn't care less.

That is a good idea. I was thinking to start using 1 source site at a time, to quickly gauge when it gets bad and change. Because than you know for sure. Quite a few times I got my growth slow because one of the sites acquired fake followers and they were obviously not following me back

On another hand it would require a bit more monitoring...

Ten bucks isn't that bad of a price for getting 1000 new followers in a month, seeing as I'm currently at about 580.

Source site is a user who's followers you are stealing (not actually stealing more of a copying without permission)
If you read the datasheet more carefully you can find this in the glossary.
