Albert Ellis actually advises against grading yourself period since it leads to anxiety and depression if you don't measure up. Its better in his opinion (haven't really embraced this idea or fully understand it yet) to think of yourself as good for simply existing.

Gave myself C+, my reasoning for it is that while I still live purple pill life, at least I learned to not repeat my mistakes and started working on my improvement last year after my first thread here.
Otherwise I would be D.

Problem is defining "yourself" in the context of your life. I don't consider the current Phoenix to be the same person as the Phoenix 10 years ago, or even 5 years ago. Massively different individuals living in massively different circumstances.

Relative to my peers' current average achievements, with that average a "C" on a scale of A+ to E-, I'd say a C+ or B-. I anticipate I could reach a B+ if I succeed on my current trajectory, but I have no confidence in reaching A territory simply because of the way the world's going rather than individual reasons.

Relative to my base genetics, I'd say I'm currently at a D+ simply because I'm behind schedule by about 5 years or more due to negligent guidance during youth.

If I were asked this question in person, A+. 1000%. Check all the boxes. Bring out all the positives without "selling myself"..

- I've got my kids and love spending time with them
- I'm single, which has the benefit of freedom
- I'm gainfully employed doing something I enjoy
- I've got two cars, one is a convertible
- I've lost 50 pounds in the past year

Here on the forum, I gave myself a C+. There are areas I know I need to work on..

- Women and approaches. My online game is good, but I really need to up my day/night game
- My work life isn't as great as I'd like it to be
- Both of my cars are at least twelve years old (but in decent shape)
- I could stand to lose another 20 pounds
- I need to lift more

C- My life is shit as a result of my choices and I'm not sure I have the stones or the self honesty to fix it. Plus I'm lazy.
I've survived some shit events more or less intact which is why I rate myself above a D.
