That would make some sense if it were actually true. In their mind, they think they are oppressed, when in fact they are not. RE: Police officers shot in Baton Rouge, 3 dead
White guy being interviewed on CNN live stream just stated that the Michael Brown/Ferguson rage was based on a lie.
They immediately cut away from him and I don't expect him back.
Now there's a guy, Roderick, stating that he doesn't "know if the officers were targeted, or if they rolled up on something in progress". Basically, cucked bullshit.

I agree, but with white nationalism and alt-right wing politics comes shades of racism, it's inevitable, even if you agree with a lot of their views, you'll never be "one of them".
You still cannot insult the membership of RVF. I don't give a shit about them being openly racist, just don't insult me or the others with name calling, etc. We have higher standards and quality of posting here. Pee and poop joke caliber insults of member's race here severely breaks this level of quality we are striving to achieve here.

I guess that begs the question - who defines oppression? The majority who could be imposing it, or the minority who could be suffering from it? If a community believes it is being oppressed, how would it go about proving it and changing the system? If it believes it is violently being oppressed, how should it go about resistance?
If you are going to impose your will on the world, you must have control over what you believe.

When citizens are killed by officers with debatable justification, a civilized society allows its courts to determine whether the individuals involved in the killings should be punished. Those who believe the courts are behaving in a systematically biased and unjust way should explain how and propose actionable solutions to rectify the problem.
There is no justification for committing violence against officers who had nothing to do with the killings in question.
There is no justification for destroying property of individuals who had nothing to do with the killings in question.
There is nothing to be gained from shutting down streets to chant idiotic slogans.
At this point, BLM has reaked orders of magnitude more havoc than the very thing they are protesting. How many officers have been murdered in response to two potentially unjustified killings committed by police? Even if BLM leaders say they want peaceful protest, they're inspiring an unacceptable amount of hatred, violence, destruction, and chaos among their ranks. At this point, I have no respect for any BLM apologist. They are not a net benefit to society; that's as clear as can possibly be.

RE: Police officers shot in Baton Rouge, 3 dead
CNN is running amateur video of the shootings.
All of it sounds like aimed, semi-automatic rifle fire. No different then when I did my service rifle recertification last week.
This is the really frightening prospect - of BLM-inspired shooters with actual tactical/military training taking out police officers across the country. US police departments have had enough issues dealing with comparatively untrained gangsters. This is wholly different.
I'm reading Vox Day's blog and one of the comments is instructive:
Quote:The police (and by association, the government) have already lost the most important battle, which was the idea they can't be fought, that they'd win every time. In reality what we see now is a situation in which the cops are getting their asses handed to them by people who have little or no training.
The cops have yet to be faced by shooters who are well trained; who know how to organize, plan and prepare. People who understand that "He who shoots and runs away, lives to shoot another day." The one marker I have not seen yet that would indicate trained opponents is cans being used. From there it's a short step to coordinating attacks with funding operations on the other side of town while the cops are busy with the shooting.
If these attacks start to spread and become commonplace (as I fear they will) then the implications over the next few months - or even years - are even more disturbing. Police departments will be dealing with a growing amount of turnover and burnout, as well as ever-lower and lower levels of recruitment. Why risk your life for a low-paying job where you constantly run the risk of either being denounced as a racist killer or being executed/assassinated yourself?
The streets of America will become ever more lawless as police will start to pull back wholesale from policing entire neighbourhoods for lack of police numbers or merely because those areas are considered beyond saving. It'll be the Ferguson Effect on steroids. If you live in those neighbourhoods and suffer from violent and/or property crime, you'll essentially be on your own because the police will not be in a position to protect you.
The fact of the matter is that we are on a relatively short trajectory from where we are now to Americans nationwide realizing that their police forces are incapable of maintaining public order. That is something that is most definitely to be feared.

That further begs the questions:
what if both groups define oppression in different ways?
and
doesn't it mean that the the group whose definition wins the narrative has more political power and therefore can't possibly be oppressed?
It also highlights the fact that nations with minorities this large are a historical anomaly, and this particular mix is a lab experiment with no guarantees.
People speak to "oppression" while forgetting that this particular mix has never before been attempted. They speak to failure to meet an imagined ideal of equality, and couch it as oppression. What they ignore is the complete ahistoricity of the arrangement and that it works at all is a miracle. They can't point to an actual working model of what they lament missing.
It's another case of dealing in wishful reality, rather than how reality is, and being unhappy with the result.

RE: Police officers shot in Baton Rouge, 3 dead
The USA is engaged in two wars right now.
I realize this isn't the best time to politicize this issue so close on the heels of a tragedy, but certain things must be spelled out to bring this downward spiral to an end, and 'politics' has a lot to do with it.
The infuriating thing is that our government and "leader" acknowledges neither.
As QC mentioned in his post in this thread, there is a lack of leadership and a seeming lack of will to effectively deal with these problems.
Even worse than our President being 'out to lunch' or an ineffective leader, I believe he's promoting our enemies, albeit covertly and perhaps not even consciously in both of these wars we now face.
He insinuates that anyone who correctly identifies the problem and identifies the enemy is any number run of the mill liberal/leftist disparaging terms (xenophobe/racist/ bigot, etc) designed to impose his frame on those people. It's designed to shame those people into silence.
The first war is the war against radical Islamists and Muslims. They are not assimilating into Western culture. In the countries where they "immigrate" in vast numbers, rape and terrorism have vastly increased. Sharia law is not congruent with Western societies or culture.
As much as I hate to say it, the other war is here in our own country, the USA. It is a smoldering race war. The foundations of which have been laid by the Obama administration. By the many things Obama has said, the policies of his administration and justice department and his open acceptance of BLM, which is essentially a terrorist group, the relations between blacks and whites and specifically blacks and law enforcement has gotten very bad, to say the least.
The President sets the tone and this one refuses to name either of the enemies we face. He does not identify radical Islam as the enemy. Likewise, he does not identify BLM as a chaos causing, anti-law enforcement, violent organization that must be relegated to insignificance.
Anytime a terrorist attack or an attack on law enforcement by a terrorist or BLM inspired nut happens we are reminded by the occupant of the white house only of "how easy it is to get guns in the USA and that we must 'look' at this"
Obama's tactics seem to be both 'divide and conquer' and 'deflect, confuse, change the subject and define someone other than the real enemy as the enemy (i.e. guns, bigotry, etc)
So much for harmony between the races under the first black president. He has done the opposite. He has come to divide us. In my opinion as I've stated, divide and conquer. The divide part is happening now. Is there a 'conquer' part yet to come?
If Trump can get elected, hopefully he can stem this madness and heal the wounds of these racial tensions across the US while at the same time crushing ISIS and the Muslim terrorists.
God help the USA.

This is painting the brush too broad. I would say 95%+ of alt-right Western Christian nationalists (which mostly represents white conservative culture) is 100% happy to have anyone on their team as long as they inherit and practice the culture (family life, law and order, conservative gov. spending).
The other 5% are indeed completely racist.

RE: Police officers shot in Baton Rouge, 3 dead
I want to say I disagreed with scorpion's saying "this country is coming apart at the seams".
Well I was wrong, I am surprised at the bravado of the opposition to kill cops. Must be the blue pill in me that says the police are near invincible in America and to be respected.
They aren't invincible, they are guys that are often in their 40s or 50s, somewhat out of shape with a handgun in a normal car rolling around.
Three guys with assault rifles and a good plan could take out 5 or 6 meeting in a parking lot or at a staged pull over easily, no sweat, and this is what we are seeing.
This stuff is "red-pilling" thugs to what they can do if they put their minds to it.
In a blue pill justice system the cops will keep getting torn apart.

RE: Police officers shot in Baton Rouge, 3 dead
Attacking police officers with violent force and ambushes is equivalent to challenging the sovereignty of the government.
Any governor or president who allows this is not worth his salt, and is only asking for more and more escalating trouble.
Even George Washington recognized this. He knew it.
Read about the Whiskey Rebellion (1791) or Shay's Rebellion (1786-1787) and how he handled it. He had a state of emergency declared.
This is starting to look a lot like a an armed insurgency or an insurrection. It should be crushed with maximum force now, before disorder spreads. This stuff is like a virus. I've seen this mentality before in Bosnia and it can happen here. Don't kid yourselves. Agitators need to be taken into custody now.
