I think we've talked about female psychology at length before and the cockblocking mentality. They want to be considered the only option because it boosts their own self esteem. However I don't recall many asian women in person giving me any looks for dating non-asian. I do remember one fob asian girl I was seeing was very interested in asking me about the non-asian girls I dated prior. It was almost always sex related questions.

The brown and smelly stereotype is pretty pervasive. Plus the FOB IRT types have mostly ruined the image of Indians abroad in SEA. Historically, non assimilated Indians in Thailand have always been viewed with the utmost suspicion. Familiarity breeds contempt and nothing breeds more contempt in SEA history than historical familiarity. Indian religion and culture has influenced SEA but the transmission stops when it comes to actual ancestry.

A friend from Thailand told me a few weeks ago that in Thailand the saying is if you see an Indian and a snake, you kill the Indian - at least you know what the snake will try to do.

A lot of the behaviour of Indian/South Asian FOBs in SE Asia makes me fucking cringe. Sometimes their shitty behaviour has even influenced people's opinions of Indians in the US. I've had a few Chinese women ask my why Indians rape so much.

I have had similar experiences with the Thais. Thais are pretty much open to anyone except Indians (Thais don't have the Xenophobia that many Asian cultures are famous for), whom the Thais express a lot of animosity towards. The primary complaint is that the Indians are viewed extremely dishonest. Especially when dealing with them in business, as they are considered liars and thieves.

A bit of irony is that the Thais do have their cultured influenced by India. However, the Thais tend to put their own spin on it. An example is the practice of 'Sin Sod' (bride price). In India, the bride's family pays the groom for taking over the burden of having a daughter. In Thailand, you PAY the bride's family to compensate them for the LOSS of their daughter.

Note: If you marry a Thai, the Sin Sod tends to be a major sticking point with westerners. The amount, in particular if the girl in question comes from an upper class Chinese-Thai (Chi-Thai) household can get REALLY steep. You maybe required to pay some of the Sin Sod in actual gold.

I can say thats true..I 've worked with many in the Home/Textiles Import & Export industry; some of those guys can be such bullies who act like the world owes them something. Coming from a guy who's waited tables at a few restaurants during my time, would say that was my experience as well.

Asian exchange students at my university talk about soccer all the time. Lot of the Vietnamese & Filipinos talk about NFL/NCAA football consistently as they even bet money on those games.

Not ironically, these tools always complain about Asian girls dating White guys and how White girls aren't interested in Asian guys. Confidence is very important yes. You're ability to adapt to the current environment & communicate accordingly to women on their levels cannot be understated as well.

Cheers I've always dated mostly white girls, and plenty from my family also did: my grandfathers had affairs with French women (one was with his professor's daughter!), grandfather's brother had a kid with a French woman, two uncles married Eastern Europeans, and also banged plenty etc. It's normal for us, so I never got the limiting beliefs that seem to affect other Asian guys here.

Also, in Vietnam, there are quite a lot of AM-WF or AM-LF (Latinas) couples now. Some are popular in their media, and even in my parents' old neighbourhood, I met plenty of their old friends whose sons have married a foreign girl. They weren't surprised when I introduced my LTR because she's white, only complimenting on how nice and pretty she is.

There's something to be said about Vietnamese and other South East Asians like the Filipinos (those guys do well with white or latinas too) not having much sexual hangups compared to the Koreans and Chinese. The latter ones that I know often carry a lot of inhibitions and sexual shames caused by their own families and culture.
