When you take out the non muslim leftist terrorist groups and activities in the 70's-80's i'd argue that muslim terrorism now is at its peak in Europe and getting higher every year.

The IRA made up the overwhelming majority of terrorist attacks in Western Europe especially in the 1970s and 80s. Hundreds of people were being killed every year in Northern Ireland during its bloodiest period in the 1970s. Throw in the pro British Loyalist death squads like the UDA, UFF, UVF etc. who were being backed, funded and armed by British Military Intelligence, South Africa and Israel. The IRA were getting their arms from Eastern Bloc countries like Czechoslovakia with Libya used as a conduit. Attacks from Irish Nationalists petered out after the Omagh Bombings in 1998 an outrage which killed 30+ people. Around this time (1970-98) you also had the FLNC (Corsica) and ETA in full swing not to mention as El Chinito said, the Palestinian secularist Marxist groups like Black September, the Christian dominated PFLP and their supporters the Red Army Faction, November 18 and Red Brigades from Italy.

You can also add in the extremist Right wing groups like the Armed Revolutionary Nuclei who were responsible for the Bologna train station bombing which killed 85 people in August 1980 and Turkey with the Grey Wolves. That does not include state sponsored terrorism from Israel with Mossad and Franco's Spain.

Now we are dealing with a new enemy. An enemy that can easily cross borders. An enemy made up of independent cells, who can move and attack with ease and seeming impunity. An enemy with no discernible goal, no chain of command but only to cause mayhem and destruction. As bad the IRA and ETA were, at least they had some kind of ideology and had a command structure, people with whom you could talk to. My condolences to the French people. This is becoming really painful to watch. They're being slaughtered like cattle in their streets, in their stadiums, in their concert halls. And all of this is being done with blessing from the French authorities, who keep working hard on their agenda of transforming France from a beautiful and once peaceful country into an Islamist-infested shithole.

Meanwhile, on the other side of Europe, NATO countries are deploying additional troops to Baltic countries to counter potential "Russian aggression". I guess that's supposed to be the reward to Putin for sending in the Russian air force and bombing the hell out of ISIS goatfuckers in Syria.
