Mike Pence is a surprisingly skilled orator. Like, holy shit! He does his speech like singing a song, or narrating a suspense story. The way his voice goes up and down, the way his facial expressions match each word and turn, it was perfect through and through. Perfectly voiced, perfectly timed, perfectly expressed.

How did this guy, and a governor no less, go under the radar (under-recognized) for so long?

Pence rose to the occasion, fine performance. I'm very pleasantly surprised. Donald Jr is a force. Would make a fine Chief of Staff...and a fine successor to the Donald.

I really did like Cruz's speech up until he became a spiteful little bitch. It was very heartfelt and I could see it bringing people to tears. But then, he sucked all of the good emotions out of the room with a huge act of disloyalty. It really pissed people off because of how well he had been up until that point. Cruz looked like he had empathy but then he showed at the end it's all about him. Fuck this country, it doesn't matter if Trump loses because Cruz wants to run in 2020. The possibility of Hillary upending all of the Constitutional safeguards obviously doesn't matter to Cruz as much as his chance to be the savior of the Republican party.

I don't think pettiness is a good look, and Cruz is going to regret this because Christians do not like such small-minded selfishness. Trump comes out as the bigger man for letting Cruz speak in the first place. If Cruz didn't want to endorse Trump, he could have sat it out like Jeb and he would have maintained respect. Instead, he wanted to be the biggest cocksucker imaginable. Cruz's days are numbered.

The drama, however, ultimately is going to dominate the news cycles for weeks. Overall, still a net positive.

Exactly! Jeb is by far a better man. It is one thing to pout and sit it out but another to pull a stunt like Cruz did.

Trump never would have treated somebody that way. I guarantee that.

Exactly. Trump tweeted that he had seen the speech hours before, and still let Cruz go up there and commit suicide! Trump, like God, gave Cruz, the errant son, one last chance to redeem himself - and Cruz once again chose treachery. Very "Paradise Lost".

Cruz could have united the party, been the VP and heir apparent at a very young age for politics, had he not initially attacked Trump. He had another chance tonight - conservatives can have forgiving memories - but he will not be forgiven anymore. It is quite unfortunate because he is indeed a very smart man, one of the smartest in Washington, but vanity was his fall and he must be voted out of the Senate.

I sincerely believe that the reason Trump will get things done is because the anti-Trump Republican Congressmen will be voted out of office during the congressional elections by their local communities, allowing for a Trump aligned set of laws to be passed.

From what I saw, he didn't exactly get booed off the stage. Not only did he seem to finish his speech, but he also got a good degree of applause at different points, even after managing to piss off the majority of the folks in attendance.

He still succeeded in ending on a high note, although there was also a audible hum of disturbance in the air as he finished up,

Not sure, however, how anyone could watch him giving that speech and actually like the guy or want him to be president. He even looks like he is lying.

Watch some of the videos coming from the floor. Especially at the end where it became clear that he wasn't endorsing and the audience turned on him. The booing is much more clear, and many of the positive sounding cheers are for Trump.
