Anybody have experience with hostile man-hating library workers? It seems like every library is ran by 95% female staff. Some act like rabid pigs.

Why is library staff always female? Are men not smart enough to work with books? Also I have noticed most of their day is just gossip, spreading lies, rumors and backstabbing.

What would an all male library staff be like? Do you think we could manage a library? Sounds really easy with good benefits and air conditioning.

It is a generally acknowledged principle of life that librarians are scary losers with a guaranteed salary and a pension, meaning that in their minds they can lord over you the fact that they are the guardians of wisdom and modern civilization even though they aren't. The library used to be a kind of community hub where all levels of society came together to seek knowledge and understanding as well as low key socializing.

That is done. Now the books are being dumped or sold off, as rows of public access internet terminals take over, and quiet reading and thinking is giving way to twerk videos and mindnumbing gaming with screens of moving jewels.

The reference librarian used to be what the internet is today, and was a valued member of society, often the only person whose experience and ingenuity could get the information a patron wanted. They are no longer needed, and are now replaced by these otherwise unemployable freaks who can't do anything but scold their betters.

Assume weirdness and hostility any time you enter a library, and you won't be taken off guard by their pettiness and their intrusive eyes and expressions and comments.

Many libraries used to have one or two homeless people who would hang out there all day, and the changes in society now mean that even if a city has a rescue mission, the library still serves as a de facto day room for the downtrodden and the difficult. My local library was just closed for a couple of days in order to get rid of the bedbugs from the chairs.

Even smaller cities have a raft of security guards in their libraries now, and these people are usually a paycheck away from being one of the tramper guys, and act accordingly, trying to lord their meager authority over the methed out teens and their slatternly baby mommas who look like they are decades older than they are.

Face it, libraries aren't libraries anymore, and to expect anything from the librarians anymore is a disaster. I once went to my local library and checked out a young female who walked by only to look up and see two gangster lesbian librarians staring at me, one whispering to the other. I wouldn't be surprised if they were over compensating for their loss in status by appointing themselves the white-dykes of justice, and monitoring the eye crimes of adult men.

In their ideal world, there would be no patrons at all, and all their books would be in order, and the tables and magazines would stay straightened in perpetuity, and there would be no whispering or hum of computer fans so they could hate in peace.

There is no such thing as a library anymore, not really, so why go there? Unless you like trolling, and seeing them labor to raise their eyebrows in disdain yet again, their faces cracking in the process.

Funny responses. Too true.

A small perecentage of librarians treat me all right, but if I work there too often it just winds up being a bunch of gossip about me, to the point it feels toxic even being near the parking lot.

At one public library I have directly requested to get men to staff the place too. It was a verbal complaint. Then they started bringing in gay guy workers, who never last. So even the gay guys cant stand working at the place.

Modern libraries are basically a feminist utopia. A strong hold for that.

And in Canada, our public libraries are filled with drunken natives checking out Facebook or porn on the computers, while the tramps shoot up in the washroom.

You may find some respite in university libraries though, as well as some young hotties studying. Problem is, you can't take out the books unless you have a connection.

I find university libraries have some great selections and you can browse in peace since most universities don't actually value knowledge anymore.

The IT support for the library computers will always be men. The university libraries have always been good. They are very vigilant and will not allow homeless to stink up the place.

Be excessively smiley and happy with your lot, and don't try to be one of them. They will be excessively fascinated by you, thinking that you know something they don't, wondering why you are so pleased with yourself while they grumble and groan. Never reveal the secret. Within weeks you will have your pick, whether you want to or not.

Yeah. I forgot about this. University libraries are great. In a lot of cases you can check out books if you have a card from the local city library and are willing to fill out a form.

I used to check out and watch DVDs in a small screening room in a university library that no one knew about in the basement. Also, big universities have a whole bunch of libraries and you can get a lot of value from doing some exploring a big campus.

Law libraries for legal issues. Art Libraries for books with high quality prints of paintings and sculptures. Architectural libraries for designing or decorating a house. Science Libraries for current periodicals. International libraries for Japanese girls.

There are lots of services and materials that people don't take the time to learn about, and even if they do, often you are the only one using them in the summer.

The librarians, except for the work study students, who are cool, and usually female, are still careerist disaster know-it-alls. No matter. Just avoid them.

The only library i thought was utter crap was my college library. The place was one of the worst run places i've ever seen. They would regularly lose their own books for weeks on end and the place

Contrast that with the local city library. I went to the reference desk and had a librarian practically do almost all of my research for me!

The New York Public Library workers at the branches in New York City, are exceptional. They do not play games with patrons. Not me at least.

My suburban community college campus is a complete and utter feminist war zone. The workers are encouraged to be hostile towards men, to the hilt.

My public library workers here in the suburbs are as bad as the community college. I almost can not enter some of the branches.

The local art college here has a beautiful library and its chill. I dress nice when I go there. The students do not bug me.

There is a University nearby, but it is not a major university. Its library is loaded with feminists. There are hostile e-motions in the atmosphere.

I think a men-only library would be great. Like in the photos above, it would be like heaven compared to what I am up against now.

The giveaway sentence: "I have a fake male account on Seeking Arrangements." An actual male wouldn't have put the word male in the sentence. It would have just been a fake account.

Another giveaway sentence: "But then there are some sexy hetero college girls who act irrationally disinterested in flirting." Another inadvertent giveaway. Most straight people don't designate women as "hetero." To us, that's a given not something we need to worry about (most of the time).

As for this subject, I don't buy it. Back 20-30 years ago, librarians were the ones who fought so government officials couldn't rifle through people's library check-out histories and spy on citizens.

That puts them on the side of freedom -- as opposed to SJWs, who put people's private lives "on blast." If SJWs ran libraries, people's entire check-out history would by now be online and shaming would be massive. We'd need to read "incorrect" books in secret.

In 2012, I spent massive time in several libraries researching my book and never once came across anyone "militant." They were mostly older women whose kids had grown and needed something to do, so they took library jobs.

If you're looking for militant lesbians and/or SJWs, they work at bookstores far more than libraries. Both these places have books, but they're two different cultures. A good comparison is the newspaper world vs. the magazine world. Both have to do with words on the printed page, but the kind of people who work in each are very dissimilar.

Speaking of things "militant," the use of that word also set off alarm bells. Two people use it. 1). Lesbians and 2). The Clash in this great song from Sandinista!

That's true. During college I worked part-time in the library and one of my jobs was to prepare to the Banned Books display every year during Banned Books week. Mark Twain, Kurt Vonnegut, etc.
