Musician game
So I started playing guitar back in the days of grunge, circa 1993 or so. I practiced several hours a day every day for years, and got pretty good, but after college life got more hectic, I suffered from a chronic illness for several years, and it slipped by the wayside.

I also picked up a little piano; I took some music theory classes in college and it was a requirement, but I'm not particularly good.

In the past year I've picked up playing again and even after years of disuse the muscle memory is still there. I'm probably back to about 70% of the skill I had when I stopped practicing seriously in the early 2000s.

I own a few synthesizers and some recording equipment (compressors, audio interfaces, a nice mic preamp, hard disk recorder) that I muck with occasionally, but it's often hard to find the time to do anything serious with it.

I'm looking to hear experiences from anyone with similar skill, whether they were able to leverage their talent to help their game in their mid 30s. What did you do? Form a local band and play out? Busk near colleges/universities? Open a small-time recording studio? Post cover songs or original material on YT/FB and try to acquire a cult following? Release a self-produced electrofunk album?

All ideas are welcome

Dupe. There's been a bunch of threads on band/performer/musician game. There's even a thread with the exact same name:

No idea how I didn't see that. Being hung over from yesterday is my excuse. If a mod wants to lock this out I'll head over there...

RE: Musician game
I don't know about other Cities but I'm a white guy that plays a Dohl Drum, it's Pakistani but looks like something out of Africa and in New Orleans, It's a literal pussy magnet.

Day's I'm not busy I'll go to Louis Armstrong Park or the Fly and practice. Even got a Black kid and a Trained Pakistani player to play with me and I can run Culturally Openminded Diverse game on tourist girls all day long.

It's good to be able to tell girls you have a real life good paying day job though. The other two guys I play with do get laid and have good game but rarely get repeats as they are both pro musicians which from what I've seen really only attract Hipster Feminist SJW types.

It's also easy as well if you play mid sized venues but I'm usually to tired after a show to take a girl home. I will grab some numbers but many of these types are looking to get some kinda VIP status at the venue or are just flat out attention whores looking to be seen with you after the show if it looked like people were enjoying it.

Instrument can = a good daygame prop. Shit I get LOI's and Approached just for carrying the Drum around town.

I thought once about buying some piece of shit Trumpet and just walking around with it in my hand like I just got done playing even though I can't play it's lighter than a Drum. Just say I popped a filling in my tooth and it hurts to play.

As I stated I'm in New Orleans Black/Ethnic ties = SMV to a tourist girl. They all read about the Robberies and Murders down here. I once went on a road trip with a Black Treme Brass Band for a week to LA. We did University "Cultural" performances/dance

I was the only white guy in the group. Aside from the SJW's jerking off my ego asking me how I met them and how I was invited to play with them I had good 7,8, 9's rich liberal arts girls wanting to slum it up with us and to look like they are not the racist many of them actually are.

As sad as this sounds because I love the guys I play with who would also confirm this. The hot ones wanted to bang me. The 29 year old software engineer that plays with an all Black Brass Band from the first established Black Slave area of the US.
