Delicious Tacos' Short Story Used For Video Game Theme?
Game in question: 'We Happy Few'

It is a video game based around taking medication to be a drone in society. A worker has moment of clarity when said worker doesn't take meds and sees the world around him is full of twisted abuse...aka the exact synopsis of Autopilot

It's one of the most buzzed about titles at e3 this year.

Huxley used a similar concept in brave new world. This particular iterance of the theme is nearly identical to delicious tacos' written word.

Can somebody clarify this? Did they crib DT's Autopilot?

Game demo shown at E3:

I haven't read Hot Naked Tits, so I can't comment on that story. I have read up on the The Happy Few .

In the case of The Happy Few, as I get from their story, you start notice the world around is falling apart and you have to escape, while not starving to death. At the same time, you try to piece together the events that led the population to drug themselves.

We don't know exactly if the developers have copy of Hot Naked Tits in the office as they plan the story of the game. This game could be a case of parallel thinking between Delicious taco and game creators. Both involve a protagonist, getting off his meds and seeing how twisted the world is. This type of story is repeated a lot in our entertainment, especially today's world. Once off our Soma, we realized how screwed the world is.

Here video of Marc Maron talking about such phenomenon in regard to him and Amy Schumer having similar jokes.

Forgot to include:

Autopilot was published on DT's website in Feb of 2013. The demo shown at E3 is practically a visual rendition of the story.

https://delicioustacos.com/2013/02/08/autopilot/

Given gamergate/Roosh's proximity to the gaming community, my first thought was that a game developer stumbled onto DT through this forum and went to work. I'm no gamer, nor sci-fi expert...Hence asking a few questions. DT is an artist monetizing his work. The thought of his most popular stories being lifted for profit...doesn't sit well.

It's a rather massive coincidence in creative premise.

Uuh...

"He was on all fours. His belly was full, impossibly full, something big and hot was pushing into him and it hurt. He craned his neck around. A black man the size of a Tyrannosaur was palming his ass with a hot hand while he forced what felt like a yule log into him. The man was covered in shiny black painted-on latex and was not smiling. He himself was wearing a dress, a ballerina’s dress, and there was something in his mouth. It was a ball gag coated in something like Vick’s Vap-o-Rub that made his eyes water. He scrambled away on his hands and knees, screaming into the gag. It took what felt like minutes to squirm off the startled guy’s member. He was in a huge room, impossibly huge, a cathedral lit by fire and all around him impossible horrible things were happening. A long dining room table with children eating from a tureen of human shit, an elderly woman skewered by a screaming stallion, everywhere dozens of people and animals were being fucked, being tortured, screaming, laughing, crying. High above at a podium Saul Krauss, of the Connecticut Krausses, Chairman and CEO of United Los Angeles Times/ America Online Incorporated, was overseeing it all, issuing commands, laughing and masturbating."

Word for word identical, huh?

They're making a video game out of that?

I'm pretty sure I've read a bunch of "nearly identical" stories. Shamus Young, the webcomic guy, wrote one.

OP just needs to read more books. There's no plagiarism here.

I'm pretty sure I've read a bunch of "Danger and Play" websites. Tucker Max, that bro guy, wrote one.

SBR just needs to visit more websites. There's no plagiarism there.

Santoro, thanks for the heads up. But I agree with others in the thread. The developers are using a pastiche of ideas. Mine is probably not one of them.

I'm glad you posted this though. It made me remember coming up with that story. I'd just left a shitty job. I was in the shower, remembering how every day I'd wish I could just fast forward in time. I had this moment of sadness and horror that a job could make me want to turn off being alive.

The horse cock came later.

This is how I envision your normal writing process.
