What I was expecting was either me to be shamed for attacking the couple, or them to think exactly like me. But the group did bring up good points.

The gist of what they were saying was that the guy was too beta/cucked to get a girl to fuck them. So he raises this slut's child so that he can fuck her as well. I argued that it's just a waste of resources/effort on his part(plus cuckery rubs me the wrong way), but they(mix of women and men) argued he was punching above his weight, and the fact that he was raising her child now, allowed him to reproduce with her in the future.

Then they said things like people have done analysis on European genetics and this sort of thing was very common, to have multiple children by different fathers. Where a girl would already have a family and another guy would come in and take care of them so that he can reproduce with her as well. The most likely explanation is that the men died really young, but you could also fathom alphas just dumping girls.



In the context of monogamy/polygamy. I was always torn. I knew that monogamy built great civilisations because betas often really help with that and you don't want them to be incels. And pair bonding is really strong, plus you have strong families with two parents. But on the other hand, polygamy provides the strongest possible evolutionary advantage where the alphas get to reproduce multiple times. And sexual variety is just pretty cool too.

I thought the only cohesive solution was a mix of war, and other dangerous things killing men off, and mild amounts of cheating.

But the previous discussion inspired another cohesive solution. You do have the polygamy of the alpha bad boy getting to reproduce multiple times. But you also have the betas getting to reproduce, but they have to work twice as hard and get old sloppy seconds while the alphas get the tight virgins. If this is true it means that cuckery is genetic. It allows you to get the best of both worlds of monogamy and polygamy. The betas have to raise another man's child to qualify to reproduce with a girl.

Cute kid and the 'parents' are both young. The guy stepped up and swooped a single mom (-1) but is locking her down to have his own kids with her (+1).

Its a wash really.

I know most guys don't agree with this type of behavior- and I am one of them- but for the happiness of the family, the kid, and the (hopefully) better future all them might have, I wish them the best.

Indeed this type of situation has happened since penis met vagina. Cucking though, is what I am more familiar with as some girl in Switzerland used me for my sperm when I didn't know she had a fiance. Guy was too "afraid" to knock her up apparently, but she wanted kids. So she got one the traditional way (cuckolding).

Shit is sick, but I am sure my family tree is full of the same type of behavior.

Im not big on this whole "evolutionary" thing. People forget that if thats all what matters, then NO rule is necessary, not only in marriage, but everywhere. The best enviornment for survival of the fittest is complete anarchy, and we decided to leave that behind. There is no going back.

Guys, you are becoming demoralized. Dont fall into that "Nah, lets make it official" mood.

Basically from what I've read, it's been culturally natural for men to have multiple wives/women if they can protect or provide from them.

As far as women go, ideally they only want 1 partner, but they will pursue multiple partners if they can't get "everything" in one package - as is the case with the stereotypical women who settles for a beta provider, but carries on an affair with a young stud, subconsciously hoping to get the young stud's "genes" but the beta provider's "support". Though if she's married to a guy who's a total asshole or abuser then she may carry on an affair with a more "sensitive guy".
