Just finished watching the Baku, Azerbaijan F1 race (called the European Grand Prix) and was a bit surprised at the mix of old world and newly developed cityscapes. Even the announcers were seemed taken aback that it wasn't some backwater shithole.

A quick search revealed that Amnesty International and other SJW types are pissed off at repressive measures taken by the president against journalists. Still, Bernie Ecclestone went ahead and held the race, dismissing their concerns and kinda calling out the drivers too if they thought the course was too risky. But what caught my attention was that SJWs didn't like it. Hey, if SJWs are not happy, I AM happy.

If the Roosh analysis of the situation proves correct: less western = more feminine/traditional women.

Ergo, perhaps Azerbaijan might be worth exploring for places yet unmolested by westernization. Even if it turns out to be a hidden gem, it probably won't be more than a couple of more years before smartphone addiction and traditional sex roles being supplanted by careerist mentalities start polluting the eligible female population the way we are now witnessing in Poland. The women themselves look very Iranian, but I've only got Goggle to confirm.

So - anyone been there? Would be curious to know what it's like.

Go to Armenia, you'll be much happier better women and more tolerant culture.

Baku is overrun by westerners because of the oil industry and while Azerbaijan is a very, very tolerant Islamic society, it is still an Islamic society.

I've been to Azerbaijan and gotten the flag. Same with Georgia and Armenia, so I can give you a little regional perspective.

The women are beautiful and very feminine, much like Armenians, but they're a little more "Middle-Eastern" looking with darker features. In my opinion the 'average' Azeri looks cuter than the average Armenian. I say this because the latter has a lot many fatties on the bottom bell curve, but then again it's harder to find top tier 9's like you do in Armenia. Azeri girls tend to dress well, too. In fact, I'd say they dress more feminine than any country I've been to in Europe.

Baku is an impressive city with an cool old town and a vibrant new town. However, the nightlife is frustrating compared to the rest of region. Most places are sausages fests and aren't cheap. Blame the Muslim influence. Think pricey beers, Russian hookers and Turkish truck drivers.

If you want to score, day game and online are the way to go. Fountain square is the best place to pick up. Approach the younger girls (early twenties) as nearly all girls 27+ are married. If you arrange a date, make sure it’s early. Most girls have to be home by 9 or 10pm. Don’t push hard on day 1. Suggest a coffee, but bring her to a pub. This way you can test if she drinks (if she does, you might have a chance). Be warned though, only one or two drinks will probably get her drunk.

All that said, it's even more conservative than Armenia. I estimate around 70-80% of girl are virgins when they marry, so they're pretty damn hard to crack... but it can be done!

I can confirm what naughtynomad wrote, very good insights. I also think that the average Azeri girl is cuter than the neighbourging countries

Been there many, many times over the years. Oil and gas, as you'd expect. What naughtynomad says is solid. Baku has different faces. There's the Oil and Gas side of it, which means Irish pubs, Russian hookers and overpriced Guinness. And there's the more Azeri side which is high end clubs and lounges, table service, reservations and whatnot. Back in 2007-2010 the pubs were pumping most nights, when the BP platforms were getting built and the place was loaded with expats. You could get, and I think still can, an Irn Bru and a full Scottish breakfast with haggis... These days however the pubs are quite empty although occasionally a crew change will fill them up.

The girls are hot, and dress well. Actually everyone tends to dress quite smart. Down on the Caspian seafront there is a park called the 'Bulvar' where people will stroll around in the summer months. Girls will wear dresses or skirts, guys will be wearing 3 piece suits and pointy toe shoes. To essentially walk in the park. The Azeri chicks are very approachable, but as nomad said most will be conservative and have a kerfew of 9 o'clock or something. You really want to go for the 'Russian' ones, who may not actually be Russian but have one or more parent from there, and speak Russian as a first language, not Azeri. This can be quite easy to find out, in fact they will probably tell you.

It is always windy as fuck, although summer has well and truly started. The short skirts are out and it's great.

What about costs? I suppose it's more old fashion hotels instead of AirBNB, discount etc. Same with airlines.

At least I hope there's decent street food.

It was quite pricey, but the Manat has taken a beating recently so everything is cheaper. Beer maybe 3.5 Manat, meal 15, taxi ride anywhere in town 10. Hotels I have no idea.

Cigarettes were dirt cheap last time I bought them.

I haven't been to Azerbaijan but I day-gamed one in London - absolutely beautiful girl, so sweet and seductive and with such high self-esteem (in a good way) -like a Russian but Arabic too. Wonderful!

That was well over a year ago and I still haven;t forgotten her! Go there!
