If you're unfamiliar with the story, the kid wasn't swimming in the lake, he was standing at the edge. And the dad this bitch is demonizing went into the water to try and wrestle his son away from the gator. While neither parent deserves this type of treatment, notice how she singles out the dad for no good reason when the mom was present as well.

By the way, I say "mildly famous" because... she apparently has 11,000+ followers.

Don't know shit about security or primitive lizards behavior but this hotel was in a large pool of water. Fuck Disney, indeed the parents needed a warning that they're kids are close to large carnivorous creatures that roams the lake

It's Florida. If there is water, there are alligators.

That said, it's Disney World! Put up a fence or at least a sign that says something about alligators! The signs say no swimming. The kid wasn't swimming! This whole situation is just a giant screw up.

I feel sad for the kid and his family.

Using the death of a child to bait for attention is a low thing to do. I'm sure the entire family was having a good time, and it was all taken away in an instant. Judging by her cold, narcissistic reaction she doesn't have any children. To lose a son before he had a chance to grow up is more grief than a father should ever have to bear.

You would think that Disney would have been more careful about warnings. "No swimming" is different from "BEWARE ALLIGATORS". And they should be well aware that many visitors are from out of state and have no idea how common alligators are in Florida.

This is the year of the dinosaur it seems. Read a few stories where croc/gators have been snapping people up and there were warning signs.

If you're in a country with predators like this it should be assumed there are things in the water you should be aware of. Its a classic case of nothing will happen to you because you're having a nice time.

No swimming could mean no lifeguard on duty.. unless you are familiar with Florida, you would have no reason to think that you could be killed for walking into knee deep water

Yeah, if I'm paying 500 a night at Disney world, I would think it was a safe place. Disney has money to block or capture out of that area. Maybe they were being cheap about it. Anyways, Disney will do a settlement and this will be gone by next weekend.

The family was from Nebraska. If you're from the south you KNOW to assume they're in any body of water, but a family from up there might not.

People on Twitter are fucking nuts. Why inject race into something that has nothing to do with race? People did the same shit when they shot the gorilla at the zoo. It was assumed the only reason a gorilla would be killed was to protect a white kid -- as it turns out, the kid was black. Not that it should really make a fucking difference anyway. If a child's life is threatened by the presence of a wild animal, you remove the threat. By any means necessary.

If we've gotten to a point as a society that we're more concerned about an animal than a small child -- we've got some serious problems. Now I don't believe we should kill animals without reason, but when it comes down to choosing a kid or an animal's life, it should really be a no-brainer. It's gotten to a point I can hardly stand social media anymore. On fucking Memorial Day of all days, people were apparently more concerned about a goddamned ape than remembering the lives of men who fought and died for their country, but I digress.

As for the situation in Florida, the kid was only two, it's not like he knew any better. He would've been at risk just standing on the shoreline, but apparently he was standing in the water when the gator got him. How was a two-year-old able to get far enough away from his parents to start wading through the water? I mean, you can blame Disney or even the gator if you want, but ultimately I think the blame falls squarely on the parents' shoulders. You certainly can't blame the kid.

Seeing as how this was at a disney hotel, I'm surprised it hadn't happened already. Do they not get a lot of kids there? I would think try to make it child-proof. Maybe some volt wire? This is what happens when you cheap out on child safety.

There are no humans to blame here at all. The lake is not some type of gator pit, its a lake in Florida.

Gators roam around. If a snake had crawled into the resort, should there have been signs warning against that? What if a plane on the way to Disney world fell from the sky , but hey no sign?

I think this story is a troll job by the media to take away from the shooting.
