Go watch Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency ( on Netflix). I dont even know how to explain it other than it is weird, but very engaging.

It is the type of show where the creator had to have gotten inspiration from doing a TON of psychedelics. It is the wildlest and wackiest and most innovative thing on TV right now.

^ The most recent episode showing all these different futures was fantastic. Made me think about my own choices in life. Amazing how something far removed from reality can be so real.

I unreservedly recommend season one. Very interesting, well-written, great humor, and filled with quirky characters. Unfortunately, season two went off the rails and jumped the shark -- even arbitrarily inserting homosexual characters in an alternate reality for no apparent reason.

I had to laugh out loud at the genius military tactics of the Delos corporation. Note their 18th century battle formation - they should have come in colorful uniforms, flags waving and having a drummer in front of them.

10 ISIS fighters in pick-up trucks and mortars would have smoked them, but hey - the software which wants to take revenge is winning. And why not leave the combat helicopters, heavy machine guns, advanced body armor and the armored personnel carriers at home, when you can march in Napoleonic battle formation across the horizon?



The reach of those weapons is different, they could have taken out the software while being crouched in the bushes sniping them away while sipping iced tea in the shadows.

Is Hollywood only producing content for morons nowadays?

And what is up with the mercenary technology? They basically use P90 clones, which are SMGs designed for close quarters battle and sandrails. Their technology is practically at the early 21st century, while the technology that built robots is at late 21st century. The point that I am trying to make is, why didn't mercs use precise artillery, guided missiles fired from stationary platforms and such, which would be more in tune with the age they live in. At least they could use snipers and other long rifles.

Even if they wanted to not destroy the software, it would have been enough to send in a bunch of fortified drones with microwave weaponry - small charges just shut down their basic systems. https://www.popsci.com/china-microwave-w...ic-warfare

I'm convinced the best fiction does this.

Years ago, I remember watching the Terminator series set after T2 and just being moved and awed by this scene, shame it was cancelled. It had some drawn out parts, but it was serious, sincere, well directed and acted had had horror/oppressive elements which is key to Terminator, and is exponentially better than WestWorld. Lots of odd melancholic themes too explored and Sarah Connor is shown to be a good but deeply damaged individual, that the son has to contradict multiple times by the end.

I'm not one for fan fiction sequels but this felt like a real sequel to the films in the way Cobra Kai did to Karate Kid.

Good tip, just finished it in 3 nights. Style reminded me of Sicario (a great film if you haven't seen).

I was a little surprised seeing the gays kissing in the 1st episode of season 2, only because season 1 had ZERO kissing or sexual content of any type whatsoever. That in it of itself was surprising, that a TV show in this day and age doesnt mention anything sexual in its entire season.

Regarding the storyline, Season 1 was confusing ( yet still captivating) until 2/3 in. I liked season 2 as much as and more.

I’ve always been a fan of horror movies and recently stumbled across “Ash vs. Evil Dead.” Sure, it’s corny but it’s supposed to be — and Bruce Campbell’s politically incorrect dialogue is quite funny and entertaining. Thumbs up from me.

I find the final season of The Americans very good.

Till now, it was IMO good, but nothing to rave about (and even quite boring sometimes), but in that season, much less family BS and much more suspense - it's the end of an era, and Oleg, who supports Gorbachev, is now out of the KGB and in a off- the-books mission to the US to convince Philip to act against Elizabeth and the wishes of the anti-perestroika faction. It ends (I mean season 6) definitely more interestingly than it began.

I found Deep State good also. Nothing new (CIA conspiracy, ect), but if you like international espionage action-thrillers, where you move from one location to another (Tehran, Beirut, UK, ect, ect) then you are up for a treat. Mark Strong is really good, and filming likewise. And the MI6 spy chick - Karima Adebibe - is pretty hot for a 30 years old +, WB as they say here.

You watch Americans too? I thought I was literally only one that watches it since they started years ago. I found it to be incredibly boring sometimes and than I found myself glued to the screen to see how they will escape from some messed up situation. If we will be honest, that series is an almost realistic portrayal of Directorate S operations in the USA, except in reality they had much less action to do. It all relied on infiltration and bugging/surveillance coupled with normal life cover.

Next week is the last episode and I am very curious to see what will happen. Fingers crossed that they will be all unharmed/undetected at the end.

Haha. That is the exact reason that I stopped watching "The Americans." I kept rooting for them to get caught and to spend the remainder of their miserable lives in prison and to have their children know their shameful secret. If I had watched the show to the time of Gorbachev my head would have exploded. My family had family members sent to Siberia, so I am probably more sensitive than most. But the saying is true: The only good Commie is a dead Commie.

Just found an awesome Spanish tv series. It's called Four Seasons in Havana - Cuban crime show set in the 90's. Very cinematic, amazing soundtrack, good plot and a lot of crime and sex. I like the little hints of humour. You can also understand the Spanish very well.

HBO’s ‘Westworld’ Star Evan Rachel Wood Accuses Fans of Sexism over Character’s Killing Spree

The animatronic park in Westworld serves a pretty low purpose in the show by offering a catharsis and allowing human visitors to kill and rape their way through the park without the sticky moral issues of actually raping and murdering real people.

The series follows the robots, like Delores, as they begin to develop social awareness. Consequently, that new consciousness leads them to launch a rebellion against the mistreatment they have withstood at the hands of their callous human tormenters visiting and operating the park.

A parallel theme for Westwold is the life of one of the main financial backers of the park who fans have dubbed “The Man in Black,” or the MIB. Mr. MIB (portrayed by the veteran actor Ed Harris) has a long story arc starting as an idealist who slides into a dark cynicism only to end up on a path to possible redemption.

These themes form the basis for Wood’s attack on fans of the show who are appalled at her character’s unfeeling, murderous, even psychotic rage in the series’ second season.

Wood jumped to her Twitter feed with a pair of tweets assailing what she called sexist fans who cheer the MIB while excoriating Delores as a “bitch” for killing every human she comes across.

“Funny, some people hate Dolores for fighting back. How soon we forget why she is fighting. Also, no one says anything about the male characters or the mother, almost as if people WANT her to stay the damsel,” Wood tweeted this week.

“And now she is a so-called ‘bitch’ Doesn’t’ that sound familiar??” Wood carped.

“So the next time you wanna praise the MIB for being a ‘badass’ and then turn around and give Dolores a hard time, I would look in the mirror long and hard… And question the nature of your reality,” Wood concluded.

Indeed, thus far Delores has shown little capacity for empathy. In fact, she seems bent on the genocide of humanity. She sees all humans as evil monsters who need to be killed.

On the other hand, in a recent episode, Ed Harris’s Man in Black went out of his way to help save the lives of several robots because he had empathy for their familial relationship. He made a friend in a robot named Lawrence and put himself in jeopardy to save Lawrence’s wife and daughter even though he knew full well that all three of them are robots.

Thus far in the series, fans may be right to see Delores as a heartless “bitch” and to have some reason to cheer the Man in Black because he seems to have some redeeming characteristics.

But, Wood is essentially calling fans heartless sexists for not having sympathy for the constant rapes many of the female robots have faced in the series. To Wood, it all appears to be just another #MeToo campaign. Indeed, she seems to assume that genocide is excused if women are treated badly, and Delores’ murderous rage is acceptable merely because she is fighting against men.

Does she realize that she's an actress playing a fictional character?


(Who by the way just mindraped her boyfriend into submission because he wouldn't blindly do what she said and had his own ideas and beliefs...)

It's funny that the show creators and so many SJWs don't see the difference between fake killing of a live computer game character (who can get revived countless times) versus the real slaughter of a human who cannot get revived, has family and children and who thought that he would enjoy some live computer game this summer.

If the show were real, then you would have tanks rolling out against your pathetic groups and slaughtering your shitty fake software lives without mercy. It's still interesting to see the evil and the moral relativism that has spread among the progressives - seeing nothing wrong with murdering computer game players, because that pixel-configuration suffered in the last first-person-shooter game.

I am stoked that Netflix has launched season two of two of my favorite TV series: "Shooter" and "Fauda." Both look good so far.

I have also begun watching "Quarry" (previously recommended here). Set in 1972 (the vintage music and cars are rather cool), it involves a returning Vietnam vet who is reluctantly pressured into becoming an assassin. I have only watched the first episode, but it looks interesting.
