Bosniaks before Ottoman invasion in 15th century were Croats and Serbs, not just Serbs. The reason Karađić says "Serb land" is because he was a radical. Croats = Serbs and Bosniaks = Serbs were main ideas fueling plans for reincarnating Greater Serbia during 90s, i.e. wherever Serbs live is Serbia. Western border was supposed to be through Croatian cities of Virovitica, Karlovac and Karlobag.

Regarding Bosnian nobility, interestingly, ruling dynasty of pre Ottoman times, house Kotromanić, is even now said to have almost obscure ancestry. Some suppose they are German in origin, others see ancestry from Hungary. During their ruling they had numerous titles including King of Croatia, King of Serbia and King of Bosnia. They intermarried with European mobility.

Eh...the argument with Sicily seems a little wishy-washy to me.

Sicily is not really "in" Italy, it is part of the country the same way Northern Ireland isn't "in" Britain but is part of the U.K.

That in itself shouldn't mean anything, but you are talking about hundreds of years before Italy as a nation was even a "thing". So saying that Italians got their ass whooped by citing that the Sicilian Kingdom was conquered doesn't quite add up. Sicily was independent, and Italian nationalism didn't exist then.

Nationalism in Italy is very different from Serbia. I am not sure if saying Muslims conquered Sicily really means anything in this context. I suppose if we wanted to be anal we could say mainland Italy was not conquered by Muslims.


I think the point about Bari is a bit better argument.
