Attention please!!! Canned material alarm. Here's an rough sketch of actual good answer.

Let's say you work in customer service. You deal with annoying people all day, you hate it and you want to punch her in her face just because her asking about it brought that topic into the conversation. Instead of punching her or telling straight up what you do or complaining about your job you might say something like that..

"do you know that feeling when you carefully pick that expensive quality winter jacket... and once you leave the shop you're pumped up cause you feel like just bought something really good that you had to work for so you expect it to last almost forever? yeah.. an then after few weeks that bitch rips, seams open, down is coming out of it and you get really mad that beloved jacket is falling apart and it's not even your fault... you have to blame the company.. but you can't go talk to the ceo of the company you have to talk to warranty department and vomit your complaints on the people working there as if they're responsible for your faulty jacket. yes, you guessed it, I am that person with your disgusting vomit all over me cause I listen to your shit all day everyday and I don't even have anything to do with quality of your damn jacket.. Can you smell it? Come on get closer, sniff it, sniff your shit, it's yours, come on, bit closer... smell anything? Nothing? Oh of course not silly, I'm just fucking with you, you're so easy haha.. of course you can't smell it, I always take a shower after my job, duh... but you looked so cute trying to feel something..."

Thanks to this thread this question now irritates the fuck out of me. Before I never thought about it, I just answered it like any random question, but looking back 99% of the hoes I meet ask this! Worse thing is that I also do it, well used to, I'm getting that dam question out of my vocabulary!

From now on my reply to that question is "I'm on welfare, so drinks are on you"

From there ask more playful questions, get her to make up a whole life story for you, joke with her about what she guesses, and then flip it around on her.

When it comes to conversation, simplicity is key. Most people can't run long winded Tarantino style dialogue, and most people, especially today's generation don't have the patience, or more specifically the attention span to listen.

If someone asks your job, pick whatever you want, preferably something interesting, and run it with confidence. My job title is actually quite boring [I write], so I usually just run with 'personal trainer'. It adds an immediate element of 'judgement' and puts you into a position of power.

I used to run the over the top answers like 'astronaut' or something silly, but it usually descends into clown game, and I just don't have the energy, or the willingness to degrade myself like that anymore.

That's powerful.

The biggest takeaway from what WIA is saying here is don't treat it like some shit test you have to "pass" - treat as just another great opportunity to flirt with her, joke around, get her smiling, get her touching you, etc. You can do all of these things and the question she asked is 100% irrelevant and you likely never answered it and she likely completely forgot she even asked you.

That's game. Taking stock conversation and making it fun and building a connection with it.

Tell her that you are a professional kick ball player. You travel the country for tournaments all the time. She will probably break out laughing or think you are crazy. Either way it will be something that she probably never heard before.

Another good profession would be a singer or you play in an underground band. Just remember the wise words of Eddie Murphy "singers get poosy".

I always answer to personnal questions with a question.

Her : what's your job?
Me : simple curiosity, in which sector would you see me working in?
Her : I don't know, policeman? Gym trainor?
Me : haha, many people tell me that.

Then I either change the subject or continue to play along.
Strangely, only old women seem to understand the game I play, and continue to ask me the same question.
Young girls don't care, to me they just want to chat and have a good time : their question is irrelevant even to them.

My advice is not to care about giving an answer, but to play with it, keep it a mystery.
At the end of a conversation, most still don't know my job, age and even my NAME.
But they really don't care.
They want to know if you're attractive, not if your name is John or Mickael.
